Entertainment tab The Star reported Kelly Preston, wife of John Travolta was pregnant with twins. According to a rep, the Travoltas are pregnant but not with twins. But that’s still good. A new tyke in the family might get John’s mind off the tragic loss 16-year old son Jett last year, maybe get him active. He’s not looking healthy these days, like his usual charismatic self.

Gwen Stefani, on the other hand, is not pregnant, just wearing baggy clothes. She says she’s open to a third child but not pregnant. Then again, other celebs have denied twins or even being pregnant until a certain safe stage in the pregnancy. I.e., a six-figure photo deal in one of the popular entertainment mags. For that matter, registering a web domain name, and Twitter and Facebook accounts for a future child is in order and might delay announcements even further. On a sadder note, celebs sometimes claim they’re not pregnant because of a miscarriage or chance of that happening. Or in the case of the Travoltas, The Star was just wrong,

Nicole Scherzinger, along with her partner Derek Hough, might have won season 10’s Dancing With the Stars contest, but is she going to keep the object of her efforts, her mirror ball trophy? No. Instead, she’s pawning off the gaudy thing to her mother, whom she says was the reason for doing DWTS in the first place. But that’s not the controversy. Some people — including fellow contestants on DWTS Season 10 — are now suggesting that while Nicole IS incredibly talented, she shouldn’t have won let alone been on the show. Why not? Because she’s actually a dancer on the Pussycat Dolls, the cabaret-style entertainment group she founded.

On the one hand, as a lover of dance myself, it was amazing watching her and partner Derek Hough. I’m glad I saw their performances. On the other hand, she is in fact a very talented dancer from the get go. As contestant Niecy Nash put it, “There were moments you couldn’t tell her from the pro dancers.” It’s kind of like when the Olympics ceased to be a competition solely for amateur athletes — which is why it was resurrected in the first place — and allowed in all manner of professional athletes. Sure, we want to see great performances, but is it fair to the other contestants? Or should DWTS go entirely towards having only contestants with dance skills? Wouldn’t you rather see and cheer on the contestants who gain skills throughout the season?

Oh will the story ever get straightened out? Someone has to be lying. Jesse James, by his own admission on Nightline, not only wrecked his marriage by cheating on Sandra Bullock, now it seems he’s wrecking his family. He implied that his father abused him, which his ex-stepmom refuted. Now his sister, Julie James England, is speaking out and saying the abuse allegations are completely true, that dad Larry James did abuse Jesse, and that ex-stepmom Janina James Coan wasn’t married to Larry at the time of the alleged abuse. Of course, Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee had to add her two cents, analyzing Jesse’s Nightline interview and saying that he avoided the real dirt.

Stop. My head is spinning. I’m not surprised that yet another stepmom claims her husband (or former husband, in this case) “would never do that” or some such because it justifies their decision to have married that person. No one wants to the world to think they made a mistake. Either that or Larry James chilled out by the time Janina married him. (Yeah, that does happen; the angriest person can become a paragon of patience) Or she just never saw how he behaved. And Larry, who hasn’t interacted with any of his grandchildren, and who appeared in a video interview explaining his version of how Jesse broke his arm, is hoping for a reconciliation.

Prince William, oldest son of Prince Charles and the deceased Princess Diana, and his fiancee Kate Middleton are finally going to marry, and not surprisingly, it’ll be a wedding fit for a, uh, Prince. (Though he’s second in line to one day become King of England.) But they’re going to spend $40M on their public wedding. No word on whether this will be paid by taxpayers, or from the budget of Buckingham Palace, or from the pocket of Queen Elizabeth II, William’s grandmum. Queen Betty is independently one of the wealthiest women in the world, if not the wealthiest. Last I heard, maybe 10 years ago, she was worth close to a billion in assets including family jewels (in the literal sense).

Even if taxpayers aren’t footing the bill, does anyone else think this expenditure is sickening, given the state of the world today? Why don’t they just go to Vegas and have an Elvis impersonator marry them — or the British equivalent — and donate the money to charity? Regardless, no matter how much they spend, they just can’t outdo the fairytale wedding of his mother, Princess Diana, who was in love with Prince Charles from the get-go. Diana also did a great deal of charity work. If she were a live today, I wonder what she’d think of this expense, whether or not she had any say in what happened?

In other Royal news, Prince Andrew forgave ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, for trying to negotiate 500,000 British Pounds for access to him.

Given what Jesse James has been saying lately, about him sabotaging his relationship with Sandra Bullock, you might have suspected some deep, dark secret as his “motivation” for destroying his life. My private guess was that he’d suffered child abuse, and that’s in fact what he’s saying, that he suffered abuse as a child, from his father, and that it made him cheat on Sandra.

Sorry, Jesse, but I know literally dozens of people who’ve been abused and still never cheated on their significant others. They may have been confused about their life and gone through a number of relationships, but they never cheated. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, just saying that it doesn’t have to happen.

His former stepmom, Janina James Coan told TMZ that Jesse’s broken bones were due to his Motocross activities, and that he and his dad haven’t gotten along since after dad Larry turned him in for robbing a Fotomat store, causing him to end up in juvenile hall. Hmm, sounds like Jesse and needs to enroll in the same “how to lie effectively” class that Lindsay Lohan should take.

Camelot is over…

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have gone their separate ways.

Montag has left Pratt for allegedly being too controlling and to more openly pursue her acting career.

Just earlier this week, Montag tweeted, “PS: I am not Heidi Pratt, I am Heidi Montag.” 

The usually vocal Pratt has been surprisingly silent on the subject of their breakup.

Almost as soon as they put their microphones down on Wednesday, “American Idol” winner Lee DeWyze and runner-up Crystal Bowersox put pen to paper.

Both singers signed record deals.

DeWyze inked a contract with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records, while 19 Recordings limited and Jive recruited Bowersox. The pair also had their debut singles (“Beautiful Day” for DeWyze, “Up to the Mountain” for Bowersox) placed on iTunes.

Last year’s final two, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, saw their debut albums released in late November. It’s likely that this year’s offerings will follow suit.

Lambert and Chris Daughtry are among the “Idol” notables DeWyze joins at RCA, while Bowersox will be part of a Jive family that includes Allen and Jordin Sparks.

Gary Coleman is dead.

The actor died of the intracranial hemorrhage suffered earlier this week.

He was 42.

Gossip Cop’s thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Gary Coleman is on life support.

The former child star is unconscious at Utah Regional Medical Center after suffering an “intracranial hemorrhage.”

His condition has worsened since being admitted to a Utah hospital on Thursday after a fall at his home in Santaquin, 55 miles south of Salt Lake City. Lucid upon arrival, Coleman later slipped into a coma.

“At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery,” Coleman’s family said in a statement.

Gary Coleman is in critical condition in a Utah hospital.

A spokesperson for the Provo facility says the actor was admitted on Wednesday, but couldn’t release additional details.

According to one unconfirmed report, the former child star fell and suffered a head injury.

In February, Coleman suffered a seizure on the set of “The Insider.”

Who knew Nick Jonas was a triple threat?

After tackling the music world with the Jonas Brothers and television with “JONAS,” the wannabe presidential candidate will be making his West End debut next month.

Jonas will star in the London production of “Les Miserables,” his rep confirms to Gossip Cop.

He’ll play a student named Marius, during a three-week run beginning June 21.

It’s not Jonas’ first time starring in the show.

“When I was ten years old I was in Les Miserables as Gavroche,” he tweeted. “On my closing night in 2003 I told my parents that I would come back to be Marius one day. It is truly a dream come true.”
