Rumors About Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell

Kurt Russell Goldie Hawn Rumors

(Getty Images)

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s longtime romance is frequently the subject of bogus tabloid stories. Gossip Cop has busted many false articles about the couple. Here are a few wrong rumors.

This past November, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming Hawn and Russell were “calling it quits” after 35 years together. The outlet alleged there have been years of tension between the two, who were supposedly fighting over “their rumored affairs.” In reality, there’s nothing to indicate either star has ever cheated during their decades-long relationship. Just days before the bogus story emerged, Hawn joined Russell at the premiere of his Netflix movie The Christmas Chronicles. The happy couple posed on the red carpet along with most of their kids and grandkids. It’s also worth noting, Hawn and Russell celebrated his birthday in Maui just last week.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

Gossip Cop also called out Star last November for wrongly reporting that Hawn and Russell were living separate lives and headed for a split. The couple has remained unmarried for 35 years, and according to the tabloid, their arrangement wasn’t working anymore. There was no truth to the story. Shortly before it was published, Russell gushed about Hawn during separate appearances on both “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and “The Graham Norton Show.” The actor said of his relationship, “It’s been spectacular and [I] can’t believe that it was destined to be.”

Back in September 2017, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for publishing a cover story alleging Hawn and Russell had split. The tabloid contended that the couple had a “volatile” relationship and decided to divide their home into separate living quarters. From there, the magazine accused both the actor and the actress of being unfaithful over the years, but had no proof to back up the unfounded claims. The article was based on hearsay from an anonymous “source,” but Hawn’s rep told us on the record that it was completely “wrong.” Time has proven that the two are still very much together.

And earlier in 2017, Gossip Cop debunked a phony RadarOnline story about Hawn and Russell getting into a “screaming match” in Malibu. The report, which was based on nothing but paparazzi photos, insisted the couple had a “nasty argument” that resulted in the actress leaving her house “looking angry.” The blog provided zero details about what the couple had supposedly been fighting about. That’s because there was no incident. The unreliable outlet simply took a few paparazzi photos of the actress leaving her house and decided to create a negative story around it.

George Clooney And Amal Expecting Twins Again?

George Clooney Amal Twins Again Pregnant

(Getty Images)

One of this week’s tabloids claims George Clooney and Amal Clooney are expecting twins again. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can confirm that the human rights attorney isn’t pregnant with one baby, let alone two.

According to Woman’s Day New Zealand, however, the parents of 21-month-old twins Ella and Alexander have another set of babies on the way. The outlet contends that Amal was displaying a “baby bump” while walking the red carpet at the People’s Postcode Lottery charity gala in Edinburgh earlier this month.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

As for why she’s supposedly carrying twins, a supposed source tells the magazine that George gave it away by holding up four fingers on the red carpet. “George was subtly telling the world that he’s about to have four kids on his hands,” says the alleged insider. “People are convinced it’s his way of revealing they’re expecting twins again.”

The suspicious tipster goes on to say that Amal “has been very selective with her outfits of late, making sure not to wear anything tight-fitting around her stomach.” The seemingly phony source adds, “They’re great parents, but Ella and Alexander are growing up so fast. Amal and George know if they’re going to have more children, they shouldn’t wait.”

The tabloid’s article, which is completely speculative, is simply inaccurate. For starters, Amal told the Hollywood Reporter in September 2017 that she’s done having children. When asked if she planned to expand her family, the lawyer shook her head and said, “I’m 39. I already had them quite late.” Shortly later, George told “Extra” that he’s not having more kids. When asked if he’s “done at two,” the actor emphatically responded, “Done!”

Additionally, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the spouses, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but assures us they’re not expecting any more kids. Meanwhile, the publication’s narrative isn’t original. Just a few months ago, we called out OK! for falsely claiming George and Amal were having twins again. One year prior, the same outlet insisted that Amal was pregnant with two more babies. The scenario didn’t pan out either time.

Last June, Gossip Cop busted Heat for making up a story about George telling Amal he wanted twins again. He never made such a request. The gossip media insists on trying to add more kids to the Clooney household, but both the actor and the human rights layer have made it clear they’re happy with one set of twins.

Brad Pitt Concerned Angelina Jolie Gives Their Kids ‘Whatever They Want’?

Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie Kids

(Getty Images)

Brad Pitt is not concerned about Angelina Jolie giving their kids “whatever they want,” despite a wrong and oddly late report. Gossip Cop can once again debunk this phony narrative. It wasn’t true three weeks ago when it was first alleged, and it’s still false.

The original story was posted on March 5 by HollywoodLife, a blog that’s often referred to as HollywoodLies because of its habit of publishing made-up claims. Now the International Business Times, a website which habitually cuts-and-pastes other outlets’ articles without bothering to check if they’re accurate, is regurgitating the same premise about Pitt being unhappy that Jolie is “spoiling” their children with “frequent shopping sprees.” Not surprisingly, the IBT offers no proof or examples of when or where Jolie has gone on these supposed “shopping sprees.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

Instead, the rewrite site simply quotes HollywoodLies’ unnamed and quite possibly fictitious “source” as saying, “Brad fears Angelina is spoiling the kids. He wishes Angie would stop buying the kids stuff they don’t need.” And while the online publication doesn’t question once whether those quotations are real or not, it should be obvious to virtually everyone else that those remarks were fabricated. No real person who knows either Pitt or Jolie would first call her “Angelina” in one sentence and then just seven words later refer to her as “Angie.”

Nevertheless, the IBT cluelessly rehashed HollywoodLies’ story, freely repeating its anonymous and almost assuredly concocted “source” as asserting Pitt is annoyed by the Oscar-winning actress “buying the kids stuff they don’t need” and giving them “whatever they want.” Not surprisingly, there’s no mention in the article about anyone reaching out to Pitt’s reps to verify whether the claims are true, which is standard practice in journalism. Conversely, Gossip Cop debunked this manufactured tale about Pitt being “worried” Jolie is “spoiling the kids” when it was first published a few weeks ago, and Pitt’s camp assured us at the time no one shared any of that bogus information with HollywoodLies.

The IBT, which has been charged with fraud, has been wrong on several occasions with its tales about the divorcing spouses. The outlet gets it right, however, when it blatantly rips off Gossip Cop’s exclusives. Among the scores of examples is a piece from just a few hours ago in which we shot down a claim about Jolie drinking booze because of rumors about Pitt and Jennifer Aniston (see below).

But there have been plenty of other instances when Gossip Cop has busted that outlet. Last summer we nailed the website when it ridiculously contended Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were going to get married again on what would’ve been their 18th wedding anniversary. And just about a week ago, Gossip Cop exposed it for absurdly insisting Pitt and Jolie were pushing to finalize their divorce because he’s in a “romance” with Aniston. When it comes to celebrity stories, it appears that online publication prefers fast-paced rewriting over fact-checking and real reporting.

Katy Perry Put On “Short Leash” By “American Idol” Producers?

Katy Perry American Idol

(Getty Images)

Was Katy Perry put on a “short leash” by “American Idol” producers? That’s what was claimed exactly one year ago today. At the time, Gossip Cop noted it was untrue, and now 12 months later it’s clear how wrong that report was.

On March 25, 2018, OK! alleged there was tremendous concern about Perry because of the “Firework” singer’s remarks and actions at the judges’ table. In an attempt to bolster its premise, the magazine asserted it had a “source” who insisted producers put “Katy on a short leash.” The supposed insider further maintained that it was also “frustrating” for Perry, who was exhibiting “diva behavior.” The main gripe noted back then was that Perry was too “raunchy” for the family-friendly “American Idol.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The tabloid seemingly manufactured the claim after Perry unexpectedly gave a shy teen contestant named Benjamin Glaze a kiss. And while Glaze would later note on Instagram that he was initially “uncomfortable,” as he had never been kissed before, he added how he was “not complaining” about getting kissed by Perry. Still, the publication used that incident to concoct its angle about Perry receiving a warning from “American Idol” about being too “raunchy.”

Production sources as well as Perry’s rep exclusively assured Gossip Cop back then the singer wasn’t being put on a “short leash,” and now a full 365 days later there’s no question the producers of “American Idol” are letting her do pretty much as she pleases. In fact, the very next day after the tabloid’s tale, Perry made a contestant cry on “American Idol” after she pulled a cruel joke on a girl group, telling the four young women only three would go through to the next round, while one had to voluntarily leave. If Perry has any leash on from the producers of the singing competition show, it’s obviously a very long one.

It bears mentioning, OK! has been unreliable, at other times, with its reporting about Perry. A couple of months after that inaccurate story, the same outlet bizarrely contended Perry and Orlando went on their honeymoon in Rome. When the tabloid published that article, the couple was not even engaged. And, of course, they still haven’t wed to this day.

Gossip Cop occasionally revisits articles from the year before to show how these reports have stood up over time. The piece about Perry being on a “short leash” at “American Idol” most assuredly did not. Our goal for visitors when looking back at these type of stories is to help them better understand the degree to which certain outlets are trustworthy. Unfortunately, the magazines that make these false claims almost never update or correct their inaccurate information.

Angelina Jolie Drinking Booze Because Of Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston?

Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt Jennifer Aniston

(Getty Images)

Is Angelina Jolie drinking booze because of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston? That’s the claim being made in one of the celebrity magazines. Gossip Cop looked into the allegation about Jolie “downing wine” because of her estranged husband and his ex-wife, and we can debunk the inaccurate report.

According to the National Enquirer, Jolie has been “hitting the bottle” after finding out that Pitt and Aniston have been meeting up “behind her back.” The supermarket tabloid contends Jolie was “caught drinking a large glass of wine” at a premiere party for Dumbo a few days after Aniston and Pitt had a “hush-hush, three-hour rendezvous” on the Sony Pictures lot. After editorializing how “drinking booze could be worrying” since Jolie was once a “wild child,” the outlet then notes Pitt recently attended Aniston’s 50th birthday party, before its so-called “source” alleges they later “went to extreme circumstances to avoid being seen together” at Sony.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

Allow Gossip Cop to tear apart this wholly fictitious story. While the supermarket tabloid exclaims in its headline, “Angie Hits Bottle Over Brad & Jen,” the outlet actually offers no proof whatsoever that the Oscar-winner is “boozing” because of Pitt and Aniston. In fact, the only magazine at all that says the Oscar-winner had even an ounce of wine at the Dumbo premiere party is its sister publication, Us Weekly, which also had an unnamed and unverifiable “eyewitness” quoted as saying Jolie was briefly “sipping red wine and chatting with an older man” at the event.

Let’s say that account is accurate,” sipping wine” is not the same as “boozing” or “hitting the bottle,” which is how the Enquirer has characterized her latest behavior. Additionally, as mentioned above, there’s nothing to link a cordial glass of wine with an older man as evidence that she’s raging over Aniston and Pitt. Equally significant, Pitt and Aniston did not have a secret meeting at Sony. That phony narrative was floated last week by the British tabloid Grazia, and reps for both stars confirmed to Gossip Cop there was no such get-together or that they’ve been having trysts “behind [Jolie’s] back.”

The reality is the tabloid has being publishing a slew of untrue articles about Aniston, Jolie, and Pitt for years. As we recently noted, just a little more than a year ago, the magazine maintained Jolie was “heartbroken” over Pitt and Aniston getting “back together.” At the time of that false report, the outlet insisted Jolie was going to therapy (and not drinking) to cope with them rekindling. Of course, Pitt and Aniston didn’t reunite romantically back then, and they still haven’t to this day.

Simply, the publication’s supposed Jolie sources are unreliable. Five months ago, for example, the magazine swore up and down Jolie was fleeing with the kids to France amid her custody battle with Pitt. And then two weeks ago, Gossip Cop busted the very same outlet when it claimed Jolie is moving to New York to get away from Pitt. In each and every one of those aforementioned stories, we’ve been rightly assured by Jolie’s camp that the tabloid’s tales are untrue, and the same goes for the latest article which wrongly asserts she’s turned to drinking alcohol because of Aniston and Pitt.

Teresa Giudice Moving To Los Angeles With Daughters If Husband Joe Gets Deported?

Teresa Giudice Moving Los Angeles

(Getty Images)

One of this week’s tabloids claims Teresa Giudice plans to move to Los Angeles with her four daughters if her husband Joe Giudice gets deported to Italy following his release from prison. The story is made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

Earlier this month, the reality star’s husband was released from prison after serving a 41-month sentence for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. A judge ruled last October that he would be deported to his native Italy after completing his sentence, but his lawyer filed an appeal in November so he could remain in the United States. Joe is now being detained at a facility as he awaits a decision on his appeal.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

According to OK!, Teresa intends to leave New Jersey and head to the West Coast should her husband’s appeal be denied. A headline in the latest issue of the magazine reads, “Teresa: Hollywood Bound?” The accompanying article quotes a supposed source as saying, “She’s definitely looking at a fresh start and figures why not go to the bright lights of Tinseltown?”

The alleged insider further contends that if the “Real Housewives” star moves to L.A., she’ll likely pursue an acting career or try to score her own spinoff show. “She could use a change of scenery and wants to lighten her load,” adds the questionable tipster. “She’s ready to go solo and putting out the feelers, and she’s getting a lot of positive feedback.”

The tabloid’s story is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly made-up “source,” but Gossip Cop checked in with Teresa’s lawyer, who tells us on the record that a move to L.A. is simply “not happening.” Despite what the outlet’s unidentified “insider” says, a rep qualified to speak on the reality star’s behalf confirms she’s not pursuing a Hollywood career if her husband gets deported.

Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the magazine’s bogus report. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid last year for falsely claiming Teresa was cheating on Joe with a real estate consultant. Also last year, we busted OK!’s sister outlet, RadarOnline, for wrongly reporting Teresa was filming a “spinoff special” about her husband’s possible deportation. As time has proven, the TV star never shot such a project.

It remains to be seen if Teresa’s husband will be deported back to Italy, and the future of her marriage remains unclear as well. Whatever the outcome, however, Gossip Cop can confirm that she’s not starting a new life with her daughters in Hollywood.

Truth About Britney Spears’ Dad Banning Her From Getting Married

Britney Spears Dad Married

(Getty Images)

One of the blogs is reporting that Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie Spears, is banning her from getting married to boyfriend Sam Asghari. The story is completely false. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

According to RadarOnline, the singer is “desperate” to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend of more than two years, but her dad won’t allow it because he believes the fitness trainer is after her money. A supposed source tells the outlet, “Britney wants to marry Sam and have another baby, but her father says no!”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

Jamie, who nearly died after suffering a ruptured colon in December, has been his daughter’s conservator ever since she suffered a breakdown more than a decade ago. The blog’s “source” claims that as Jamie’s health struggles continue, Spears worries “this may be the only time he’ll be well enough to give his approval.”

E! News, a much more reliable source for celebrity news than RadarOnline, reported earlier this month that Spears’ dad “is definitely doing better health-wise.” The trusted outlet noted that the singer’s father is “recuperating at home and gained strength after a long recovery.” There’s no reason to believe his condition is declining following his December health scare.

Regardless, the website’s story is entirely false. Of course, that didn’t stop a slew of other outlets, including Forbes, from reporting the untrue narrative without fact-checking it. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the singer, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but assures us there’s no truth to the report. We’re told Spears isn’t rushing to marry her boyfriend, nor is her dad declining a request she hasn’t made. At this time, the singer is focused on supporting her father as he recovers from his health woes.

It’s worth noting, Gossip Cop has debunked similar narratives in the past. Back in 2017, we busted RadarOnline’s sister outlet, Star, for falsely claiming Spears’ dad was refusing to let her have a baby with Asghari. This latest article, which is equally untrue, is now incorporating Jamie’s recent health crisis into the storyline.

Meanwhile, Gossip Cop called out the blog last month for wrongly reporting that the real reason Spears postponed her Las Vegas residency is that she was planning a different one in a foreign country. In reality, the singer is taking time off work to be by her father’s side.

The website also claimed back in January 2018 that Spears and Asghari were planning a “secret wedding.” The two still aren’t engaged, let alone married. The unreliable blog simply peddles fiction about the singer’s personal life.

Queen Elizabeth Orders Prince Charles To Divorce Camilla Parker Bowles?

Prince Charles Camilla Parker Bowles Queen Elizabeth

(Getty Images)

Has Queen Elizabeth ordered Prince Charles to divorce his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles? That’s the outrageous claim being made in one of this week’s celebrity magazines. Gossip Cop has looked into it, and there’s no truth whatsoever to the wild report.

According to the Globe, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have “secretly filed divorce papers,” and it’s because the queen “ordered it” since she “wants all family scandals resolved before she dies.” The supermarket tabloid even maintains it has a “palace source” who relates, “Elizabeth told her son, ‘It’s over!’ and ordered him to divorce ‘that sharp-tongued shrew.’” But Bowles “won’t go quietly,” adds the seemingly made-up tipster.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The so-called “source” contends the Duchess of Cornwall is “demanding all the divorce details be made public” because she wants “the world to know exactly what went on behind closed palace doors.” The highly creative or possibly make-believe leaker alleges a “panic-stricken” and “nearly suicidal” Prince Charles is “begging the court to keep the proceedings confidential to avoid more embarrassment shocking scandal and embarrassment.” “This could bring down the monarchy,” dramatically declares the almost assuredly manufactured insider.

The habitually discredited tabloid further asserts that “according to secret documents,” Bowles wants a divorce settlement of $ 213 million. It goes on to say that in her court petition, “Camilla is citing ‘unreasonable behavior,’ and Charles is terrified she’ll spill her guts and bare all his dirty secrets.” After the purported “insider” notes how Bowles “knows where all the bodies are buried,” the questionable “source” then makes a slew of allegations that Gossip Cop won’t repeat because the magazine cannot prove any of them, and some of which are criminal in nature.

Following the litany of eyebrow-raising claims, the publication states, “Any of that evidence would be enough to grant the divorce.” To recap, Bowles is “citing ‘unreasonable behavior’” in her divorce filing, and she supposedly has a lot of dirt on Prince Charles, if he doesn’t pony up the $ 213 million. Astoundingly, in the midst of all of that, the outlet appears to have forgotten that it’s premise isn’t that the Duchess of Cornwall initiated the divorce, but rather that Queen Elizabeth “ordered” it. Whoops.

Also, if Her Majesty would like the royal family’s “sandals resolved before she dies,” why would she order Prince Charles to divorce Bowles, which will incite the duchess “expose all the skeletons in the royal closets”? It doesn’t even makes sense.

In addition to that sloppiness, there’s so much more that’s disputable. For instance, no “palace source” would refer informally to Her Majesty as just “Elizabeth” or the Prince of Wales as simply “Charles.” More incredibly, the frequently disproven publication would like its readers to believe it’s the only outlet in the world to have obtained these “secret documents” and learned about the royal divorce. Of course, if you believe any of that, Gossip Cop would like to also sell you the London Bridge.

Still, Gossip Cop fact-checks every story, and while our source was unable to comment on the record, that individual’s laughter essentially told us everything we needed to know about whether or not Queen Elizabeth “ordered” Prince Charles to divorce Bowles. Almost as comical as its tale is the tabloid’s timing. Far from separating, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles were just photographed together on a beach in Barbados during their 12-day trip to the Caribbean.

Actually, in the queen’s toast to Prince Charles on his 70th birthday in November, made a point of highlighting their marriage and partnership. After calling her son a “respected heir to the throne” and “a wonderful father,” Her Majesty quite deliberately included, “Most of all, sustained by his wife Camilla, he is his own man, passionate and creative.” Those are hardly the words of someone who’s “ordered” a divorce.

Lastly, the publication’s track record when it comes to the royals is terrible. Just last month, for example, Gossip Cop busted the supermarket tabloid when it absurdly claimed Bowles got drunk and attacked Queen Elizabeth. It’s also the same outlet that photoshopped images for another cover story that untruthfully alleged Queen Elizabeth collapsed when hearing Prince Philip had cancer, a contention that’s never been confirmed by any reputable media organization.

That phony narrative must has sold well for the magazine because four months later it similarly reported Queen Elizabeth collapsed after Meghan Markle started a royal war over Christmas. That bogus tale not only featured more photoshopped pictures, but it was also written and on newsstands in advance of Christmas. Interestingly, in the new article it’s mention how the Duke of Wales “fears” he’ll “never be king” if Bowles exposes him, yet three months ago the tabloid’s cover story swore up and down that Prince William had seized the throne after accusing Prince Charles of murder.

Also, while the magazine’s current piece rattles off a number of supposed scandals, it neglects to bring up how just a few weeks ago Prince Charles disowned Prince Harry after DNA testing showed he’s not his real father. Of course, not one of those stories were true, and neither is the new one. It appears the Globe favors fiction over facts when it comes to the royal family.

Jon Hamm Can’t Get A Girlfriend, Malin Akerman Stepping In To Help?

Jon Hamm Malin Akerman Matchmaker

(Getty Images)

One of this week’s tabloids claims Jon Hamm can’t get a girlfriend so his friend Malin Akerman is stepping in to help play “matchmaker.” Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. We’ve learned it’s completely made-up.

A so-called “insider” tells OK!, “Malin feels bad for Jon, who’s just about the saddest, sorriest bachelor she’s ever known. Trouble is Jon can attract women but he sure can’t keep them.” The outlet’s supposed source goes on to say that Hamm is currently on the hunt for a woman who isn’t in show business and is also “smart, funny and independent.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The suspicious tipster further contends that Akerman is having difficulty finding a potential partner for Hamm because he’s “super picky” and “doesn’t want to commit unless he sees it going the distance.” The seemingly phony source adds, “But Malin’s made it her mission to help him find his dream girl.”

Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Akerman, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but assures us there’s “no truth” to the tabloid’s story. We’re further told the actress is “not the type” to intervene in another person’s love life. A source close to Hamm also confirms the magazine’s article is fabricated.

This concept of a celebrity “playing matchmaker” for another famous person is one that frequently pops up in the tabloids. A few months ago, Gossip Cop busted OK!’s sister outlet, Life & Style, for making up a story about Amal Clooney “playing matchmaker” for Jennifer Aniston. Shortly before that, another outlet falsely claimed Gwyneth Paltrow was helping Aniston find a boyfriend.

Gossip Cop also debunked a phony story about Reese Witherspoon “playing matchmaker” for Jennifer Garner. We also busted a tabloid for concocting a narrative about Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz “playing cupid” for Halle Berry and Keanu Reeves.

Those aforementioned articles are just a few examples of this recurring theme. We’ve also debunked similar storylines involving Justin Theroux helping Ben Stiller find a girlfriend, Matthew McConaughey assisting Jennifer Lopez in the love department, and Heidi Klum helping Sandra Bullock get a boyfriend. Then there was the time Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban teamed up to find a man for Miranda Lambert.

These various takes on the subject are works of fiction. Hamm and Akerman happen to be friends, and the actor also happens to be single. That doesn’t mean she’s playing a role in his dating life.

Truth About George Clooney, Amal Split

George Clooney Amal Split

(Getty Images)

Are George Clooney and his wife Amal “headed for a split”? That is what’s being reported in one of this week’s celebrity magazines. Not only is this a reheated claim and still untrue, but many of the article’s quotations have also been recycled from previously debunked stories.

According to OK!, which has wrongly gone down this path before, after “months of nasty arguments,” supposed “friends” of the Clooneys allege their marriage is “irrevocably broken.” To make its error-filled story seem plausible, the tabloid insists it has an “insider,” who shares “things are shaky at best” between the spouses.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The unnamed and unaccountable source asserts, “Amal and George are both very frustrated and can’t agree on anything.” “It won’t be long until their marriage crashes and burns,” says the unidentified tipster. The purported “insider” further claims, “They had one of their worst fights shortly after purchasing a getaway home on the Italian island of Sardinia.”

So, what was their big fight about? The magazine says the movie star is “reverting” to his old ways of “partying and taking road trips with the guys.” The outlet, however, doesn’t offer one example of when or where he allegedly went on a road trip with his buddies or how exactly he’s been “partying.” Still, the publication swears up and down that he’s practically abandoned his wife and twins, Ella and Alexander, which recently resulted in Amal having “fled their shared home in England and moved into their new Sardinian estate with the kids.”

The rest of the article speculates how their divorce could get “very ugly, very quickly,” with the questionable “insider” predicting how George could “end up having to cough up a large sum of money for spousal and child support payments.” The anonymous source adds, “What it boils down to is, George is a Hollywood bachelor heart, and she’s a straight-laced lawyer who’s left with the brunt of the work at home.” “The differences seem to have finally gotten the best of them… How long this farce can go on is anyone’s guess,” concludes the unverified tipster.

The tabloid’s tale, however, is nothing more than a number of already debunked falsehoods strung together. For starters, the Clooneys never bought a home in Sardinia. That phony premise was cooked up by OK!’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, which incorrectly asserted in January that Amal left her and George’s UK home with the twins and was going to divorce him. At the time of that report, the actor’s rep, speaking on his behalf, told Gossip Cop the “story is completely made-up.”

So, not only is that large section of the article provably untrue, but it also shows the supposed “insider” either doesn’t know what he or she is talking about or was fabricated by the magazine. And the so-called source’s other claims were similarly busted by Gossip Cop several times in the past. For instance, the same tabloid untruthfully alleged in February 2018 that George and Amal were headed for a split.

A few months later, the outlet tried again to contend George and Amal Clooney’s marriage was in crisis. In that report, the publication’s “source” was quoted as saying the problem was the Oscar-winner’s “partying… and road trips with the guys,” much like in the latest tale. That same piece from last year had its tipster also maintain the main issue in their marriage was how he was “a Hollywood bachelor at heart and she’s a straitlaced lawyer who’s left with the brunt of the work at home,” which is word-for-word what the “insider” stated this time. The story is simply a rehashing old lies, with the same seemingly manufactured quotes from previously disproven articles.

The reality is, contrary to the magazine’s narrative about the couple being on the verge of a split, while receiving an award in Scotland last week, the Clooneys arrived hand-in-hand and looking very much in love. And days before that, George and Amal were happy together and laughing with Prince Charles at a charity event in Buckingham Palace. Basically, the outlet, which absurdly insisted in 2017 that George and Amal Clooney were having another set of twins, is not exactly reliable when it comes to stories about the couple.
