Adele canceled the last two concerts of her tour on Friday after damaging her vocal cords. See statement below.

The singer took to Twitter to break the news, admitting she’s “devastated” that she can’t finish out her massive world tour as planned. Adele performed at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday and Thursday, and was expected to do another two shows on Saturday and Sunday. But after struggling during the prior performances, the last two are now canceled.

“I’ve struggled vocally during both nights. I had to push down a lot harder than I normally do. I felt like I constantly had to clear my throat, especially last night. I went to see my throat doctor this evening because my voice didn’t open up at all today and it turns out I have damaged my vocal cords. And on medical advice I simply am unable to perform over the weekend,” Adele writes.

She continues, “To say I am heart broken would be a complete understatement. I’m already maxed out on steroids and aids for my voice. I’ve considered doing Saturday night’s show but it’s highly unlikely I’d even make it through the set and I simply can’t crumble in front of you all and walk out on you in that way.”

“You know I would not make this decision lightly,” the songstress goes on to tell fans. “I have done 121 shows and I have two left. Two left!!! And they are two gigantic shows! Who the f*ck cancels at Wembley Stadium!? To not complete this milestone in my career is something I’m struggling to get my head around and I wish that I wasn’t having to write this.”

The Grammy winner even says, “It’s as if my whole career has been building up to these four shows.” She later concludes, “I’m sorry. I’m devastated. I’m sorry. I love you. I’m so sorry. Please forgive me.” The “Adele Live” tour began in Europe in February 2016. For the rest of the year and into 2017, she traveled across North America and Australia. Four special dates at Wembley Stadium were saved for the very end.

Adele’s message did not address speculation that she intended “Adele Live” to be the final tour of her career. Read the full statement below.
