Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher Smile, Mag Predicts Disaster

Star is doing its darndest to sow the seeds of discord this week, and the mag has now targeted the marriage of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

“Demi & Ashton Falling Apart,” screams the headline, with the article going on to report the two have “been fighting a lot lately,” according to a so-called “insider.”

What’s the supposed source of the tension? For Ashton, it’s disappointment over the cancellation of “The Beautiful Life,” a show he produced, “and he takes out his frustration on his wife,” the insider tells Star. Demi, meanwhile, is uncomfortable when he’s “around pretty young women” and questions whether “he’s emotionally there for her.”

So of course it makes sense that the two would demonstrate the discord by… attending parties together and looking happy? The weekly dubiously claims the couple’s “camera-friendly smiles” on the GQ Gentleman’s Ball on Oct. 28 were an act. ”There’s tension in Demi’s facial muscles and sadness in Ashton’s eyes,” a body language expert says to explain why we should look at photos of a perfectly happy couple and see storm clouds.

Moore allegedly “snapped and yelled” at Kutcher only moments earlier in their car (conveniently without eyewitnesses) for “behaving like an out-of-control frat boy.”

So let’s get this straight: we should ignore any happiness we see and instead believe the exact opposite, based on a “fight” no one saw? We’d have an easier time doing so, maybe, if Star didn’t have such a dreadful track record when “reporting” matters of the heart.

When Gossip Cop contacted a representative for Moore, he dismissed the story with just one word: “Rubbish.”
