A story about Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth signing a “pact” to “save their failing romance” is fake news. It comes from the same site that falsely claimed twice this month that the couple broke up. Gossip Cop can bust this latest phony report.

Three weeks ago, RadarOnline wrongly announced Cyrus and Hemsworth had “split for the second time.” The blog maintained the relationship had been “hanging by a thread,” but now it was over with wedding plans called off. Gossip Cop pointed to visual evidence that showed the stars were still together. Then only days ago, the website doubled down with a follow-up story that claimed Cyrus and Hemsworth were “on the rocks” amid their “shocking split. Again, Gossip Cop highlighted indisputable proof that the singer and actor had not gone their separate ways.

Now the outlet is back-tracking, but also peddling more bogus claims. In this latest piece, the online publication asserts Cyrus and Hemsworth are “agreeing to a pact in a last-ditch effort to stay together.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “They’re tired of breaking up and making up, and have come up with a pact to help them walk the line.” That supposedly includes a vow to “spend 21 hours together a week even if it’s just watching TV and allowing each other 14 hours of personal time a week.”

Considering there are 168 hours in a week, it’s unclear why Hemsworth and Cyrus would want to spend only 21 of those, less than a full day, together. Other requirements allegedly entail separate bathrooms, more time in Tennessee and increased action between the sheets. The notion that a “source” close to Cyrus would really discuss her sex life with a gossip site is implausible. It’s even harder to believe that the same blog that wrongly claimed, twice, that the couple broke up this month now has a genuine scoop about their “pact” to stay together.

Furthermore, ensuring they spend time together is nothing new for the couple. More than a week ago, in a piece about how Cyrus and Hemsworth are “happier than ever,” “Entertainment Tonight” reported, “They find every way possible to spend as much time together as they can, even with their non-stop schedules.” It was also stressed that Hemsworth is “the man she plans to spend the rest of her life with,” and that they “both agree they are in it for the long run.” They wouldn’t need to make a “last-ditch effort to stay together” then.

Additionally, while the website maintains the purported “pact” includes a stipulation about “more time outs” in Tennessee, E! Online already reported nearly two weeks ago that not only are Cyrus and Hemsworth in a “great place,” but they’ve been “spending a lot of their time being low-key in Nashville lately.” In other words, the stars have already been doing the things in this supposedly new agreement. So the outlet isn’t offering real news, but seemingly trying to do damage control after spreading lies about Cyrus and Hemsworth splitting. They have been together all along, and no contract is suddenly needed.
