Teen Mom OG’s Maci Bookout Admits She Worries Ex Ryan Edwards Might Die From Drug Abuse

Maci Bookout is very concerned for her ex, Ryan Edwards.

The Teen Mom star revealed her worries during Monday’s episode of Teen Mom OG, which found the women, sans Farrah Abraham, who wasn’t invited, on a vacation in Puerto Rico. While there, it was all about emotional and honest conversations, as Maci, Amber Portwood, and Catelynn Baltierra talked candidly about their lives.

Perhaps the most startling confession came from Maci, who admitted she was deeply worried about Ryan, who is the father of her oldest child, eight-year-old Bentley.

She said:

“I don’t think Ryan and I would have ended up together no matter what. Even if we didn’t get pregnant.”

To which Amber replied:

“Ryan’s fucked up. I watch it, I see it, I know it. Where he’s at right now, when I see him, I know where he’s at and I’m like, ‘Wow, he needs some guidance.'”

Catelynn then questioned whether anybody had tried to get Ryan into treatment, and Maci responded:

“[Ryan] would do it. It’s everyone else around him that’s too afraid to admit it. What I’m saying is that everyone else around him is too afraid of what it will look like more than his health. It’s all denial. They all know.”

She added:

“Honestly, the hardest thing is for me to see Ryan not love himself because he is a person worth loving. He deserves to love himself.”

Maci also admitted, through tears, that she’s afraid for her ex’s life, saying:

“I’m just sick of cleaning up his mess. I get tired of dealing with the shit. Just being the only one that fucking sees everything and cares. I talk to [her husband] Taylor [McKinney] about it like, ‘I wonder if today’s going to be the day that Ryan does something that he can’t come back from?'”

In the end, Maci resolved to tell Ryan to get help, telling her husband:

“I’m just going to be like, ‘You have to go to rehab.’ Right now is legitimately about saving his life. Most nights I’m crying in our bed talking to you about whether or not today is the day that he’s going to die or when I’m going to do something about it or how I should do something about it. And you’ve always just been there for me. Thank you for being there for me and for not making me feel like that’s not what I should be doing. I appreciate it.”

We really feel for Maci. It’s not easy to watch your child’s father go through something like this.

Here’s hoping Ryan can get the help he needs and turn his life around for his loved ones.
