Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not going on a “secret getaway” to work out the details of and finalize their divorce, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story. We’re told it’s entirely untrue.

According to RadarOnline, Jolie and Pitt are planning a “getaway,” where they can privately settle their differences and put an end to their custody battle and divorce. The site, which has published a number of provably false stories about the two, now asserts Jolie and Pitt believe “a change in scenery” will help them get over whatever obstacles they still have blocking their divorce. After noting how they’ve spent a “fortune in legal fees,” the outlet quotes a so-called “source” as saying they feel they have a better shot of being able to “hash things out” in a “relaxed setting outside of L.A.” over the course of a “long weekend.”

The alleged insider further claims Jolie and Pitt will not “sort things out alone.” They will have their legal representation accompanying them, adds the purported tipster. Almost bizarrely, the same seemingly fabricated “source” notes how the estranged spouses will have “separate rooms.”

By all accounts, the two have a difficult time even sitting in the same room together. Last month, for example, Pitt and Jolie were photographed having a heated discussion in a lawyer’s office. Why would anyone even think for a second they might share a bedroom again?

Clearly, whoever concocted this phony tale or fed it to outlet is not familiar with how lawyers bill their clients. While the habitually debunked blog notes how Pitt and Jolie have already dropped a “fortune on legal fees,” it maintains they’re going to spend a “long weekend” outside of Los Angeles trying to finalize the divorce. But when lawyers have to travel for business, as they would for this supposed “getaway,” every single minute away, meal, and hotel room is billed back to the clients, meaning it would be much more expensive than them meeting locally.

Notwithstanding how the article’s premise is illogical, Gossip Cop still looked into the claim. We’re told by sources within Pitt and Jolie’s camp that the story is wrong. Curiously, both seem to have alluded that an end is perhaps in sight.

It bears mentioning RadarOnline has posted many untrue stories about Jolie and Pitt, and it’s not necessarily a reliable source when it comes to them. For instance, the site reported Jolie and Pitt were getting back together around Christmas 2017. The outlet alleged then they “haven’t ruled out a full reconciliation.” Of course, that was totally inaccurate.

Gossip Cop also busted the blog when it falsely contended Jolie regretted divorcing Pitt after he had “fallen” for Neri Oxman. Not only didn’t Pitt ever date the MIT professor, but also his estranged wife has been pushing to end their marriage. Actually, Jolie filed papers to finalize the divorce by the end of 2018.

Additionally, the same website posted a couple of articles about how each of them wanted to publicly blast the other. Gossip Cop first corrected the outlet when it incorrectly reported Jolie wanted to do a tell-all TV interview about Pitt. That was followed by an equally bogus tale about Pitt planning to dish about Jolie on Jada Pinkett Smith’s podcast. Those stories were 100 percent wrong, much like the latest one about Jolie and Pitt going on a “secret getaway” to finalize their divorce.
