BACK in April, the New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson told us about the T-for-Times tattoo on her back.

One month later Abramson was sacked. Her offence? She had been moaning about her meagre wages.

As executive editor, Abramson’s starting salary in 2011 was $ 475,000, compared to Keller’s salary that year, $ 559,000. Her salary was raised to $ 503,000, and – only after she protested – was raised again to $ 525,000.

She learned that her salary as managing editor, $ 398,000, was less than that of the male managing editor for news operations, John Geddes. She also learned that her salary as Washington bureau chief, from 2000 to 2003, was a hundred thousand dollars less than that of her successor in that position, Phil Taubman.

I’d like to say that I’d edit that newspaper for less than Jill. (Call me NYT – I have ideas.)

Not all journalists have rushed to defend Abramson. Donald G. McNEIL Jr., the New York Times science correspondent, wrote to Jim Romenesko:

For those of us in the union, the news that Jill self-destructed over her pay package is bitter. Dean, by contrast, met with us, and listened.

Some of us old enough to remember Donald and Ivana Trump’s divorce playing out for weeks on the front pages of the News and Post wish this would all just stop. The only thing Jill could have done more mortifying than the boxing pic would have been to pose in an Angela Davis wig with her fist raised. Doesn’t she look cute? I’m not sure many pregnant women feel cute as their baby bump grows, but I think Jenna looks adorable. Hopefully she delivers before the summer really heats up. Cute or not, a big baby bump isn’t easy to manage in the heat!

THE Sun picks up on the Yorkshire Post’s story that Arsenal have already prepared for victory in the FA Cup Final.

It says that the “Gunners are so very sure they will beat Hull…. a victory parade is planned.”

This cockiness will boost Hull.

But what the Sun omits to note is the Post’s last line, which we will now repeat for Arsenal fans tuning in:

Yeah. Hull City are preparing a victory parade before the game. Will that inspire plucky Arsenal to play better?

The eminent theatre producer was speaking the week before one of his most successful shows ever opens for a £4.5million re-staging at London’s Prince Edward Theatre after a 25-year absence.

And here I thought Beyonce, Jay Z, and Solange Knowles were just going to not even acknowledge that shocking video. Did you see it? RELATED: See the video of Solange and Jay Z’s elevator fight. Solange physically attacked Jay Z while they were in an elevator, although she didn’t cause him serious injury. Well, the three have issued a statement about it.

The statement reads:

As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.

“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

Hmmm. Well, all families do have their own ways of handling issues, although it’s kind of shocking to think some resort to physical fighting. Goodness. I’m glad to hear they’ve put this behind them and there’s no major drama brewing.

Drama, drama, drama! One day the drama will stop being fun and become a nuisance. Then they might have a chance at a serious relationship- LOL. Until then, something tells me Rihanna and Drake will be back “on.” Eventually. What do you think?
