Angelina Jolie Fears Dad Jon Voight Will Testify Against Her In Brad Pitt Custody Battle?

(Getty Images)

Does Angelina Jolie fear her dad Jon Voight will testify against her in her custody battle with Brad Pitt? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively confirm the report is false.

According to the National Enquirer, the actress believes her dad will “bury her in court” when he “takes the stand” in the custody trial over her six kids. An alleged insider tells the magazine that Voight has “seen Angie at her highs and lows,” and is prepared to expose “ugly truths” about his daughter. The supposed source adds, “Jon knows her darkest secrets firsthand – and he has no reason to hold back.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The unreliable outlet provides zero specifics about what Voight might reveal in court. What exactly are these “ugly truths” the actor knows about his daughter that could risk her losing custody of her kids? The tabloid’s phony premise isn’t even fleshed out with any details.

The magazine’s poorly-explained story is also based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable “source,” but Gossip Cop reached out Voight himself, who made it clear that the article in untrue. When asked about the possibility of him participating in Pitt and Jolie’s divorce proceedings, the actor told us, “I know nothing about that.” Voight simply isn’t involved in his daughter’s custody case.

It should also be noted, it was reported earlier this week that Pitt and Jolie asked the court to give them more time to reach a custody agreement on their own without having to go to trial. The exes are currently working with a private judge, who’s been authorized to preside over their custody hearing until December 31, 2019. The estranged spouses are reportedly in agreement not to subject their children to a trial.

It’s also worth noting, Jolie and her father aren’t on bad terms. Although the two have had their ups and downs over the years, Jolie confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year that they’ve buried the hatchet. “Jon and I have gotten to know each other — through grandchildren now — [and] we’re finding a new relationship,” she told the publication. Shortly before the interview, Voight joined Jolie at the red carpet premiere of her Netflix movie First They Killed My Father. Even if Voight were to testify in Jolie’s custody hearing, though the actor himself denies that’s the case, there’s zero reason to believe he would malign her. The tabloid’s story is a complete work of fiction.

Bethenny Frankel Blocking Jill Zarin’s ‘Real Housewives’ Return?

(Getty Images)

Is Bethenny Frankel blocking Jill Zarin’s attempt to return to the “Real Housewives of New York City”? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.

It was announced last week that Zarin, who left the Bravo show in 2011, will make guest appearances on the upcoming season, but won’t be a full-time cast member. Zarin and Frankel had a major falling out several years ago, and according to the National Enquirer, Zarin’s part-time status is a result of her former co-star telling producers she shouldn’t be an official housewife again.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

“Bethenny will just not let go of their feud and she doesn’t want Jill back on the show,” an alleged insider tells the magazine. “Jill will appear on a few episodes with her friend Luann de Lesseps, but that’s all.” The magazine’s account of events simply isn’t accurate.

Back in July, Zarin herself said she’s only interested in returning to “RHONY” as “a friend.” The reality star told E! News, “Somebody started a rumor that I was in talks with Bravo. That’s not true… I would like to come back as a friend.” It’s since been confirmed that Zarin will make brief appearances on the new season, but she never expressed interest in becoming a full-time cast member again.

The outlet also fails to mention that Frankel and Zarin aren’t feuding anymore. The two made peace earlier this year when Frankel attended the funeral for Jill’s late husband, Bobby Zarin. In a subsequent interview on “Watch What Happens Live,” Zarin gave an update on her friendship with Frankel. “We’re all good,” she told Bravo host Andy Cohen. The two women still aren’t as close as they once were, but Zarin noted that they exchange texts, adding, “If I needed something, I feel like I could call her and say: ‘You know Bethenny, could you help me with this?’”

Frankel also addressed her relationship with Zarin on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live” earlier this year. The reality star explained, “It’s nice. She’ll text me, and we have a nice interaction, and it’s clean, which is what I wanted it to be.”

Regardless of all the evidence disproving the tabloid’s phony story, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source involved in the production of “RHONY,” and we’re assured there’s no truth it. Frankel never tried to prevent Zarin from returning to the reality show, and Zarin was never interested in taking on a full-time role in the first place.

Christian Bale Returning As Batman?

Christian Bale Batman

(Getty Images)

Is Christian Bale returning as Batman? A story from exactly one year ago today maintained he was offered such an insane amount of money, there was no way Bale could pass on reprising his role as the Dark Knight. But as Gossip Cop reported back then, the claim was untrue, and it’s still false 365 days later.

On November 30, 2017, OK! asserted it had an “insider” who contended Warner Bros. went back to Bale, the star of three Batman movies, and made him an offer so big, it was “impossible” for him to turn down the studio. The magazine even editorialized that Bale should “take the money and run.” So how much exactly did the publication claim Bale was promised to play Batman again? According to the outlet, he was offered an astounding $ 100 million.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

While the tabloid predicated its narrative on an unnamed and untraceable “source,” Gossip Cop fact-checked the magazine’s report with the subjects of the story. Warner Bros. assured us the outlet’s tale was “categorically false.” Meanwhile, we also spoke with Bale’s rep, who told us on behalf of the actor that the claim was not true.

A full year has passed and none of the top trade publications have verified or even made the same claim. And the reason is because the entire premise was phony. Recently, the writer and director of the next Batman movie, Matt Reeves, gave an update on the Warner Bros. reboot, and noted his film would be “separate from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight universe,” meaning it would not include Bale.

Even Bale himself said he would “never” return as Batman. Among the reasons he cited back in 2014 was that he felt he was too old for the role and the film’s fight sequences. He admitted at the time, “You’ve done [a fight sequence] 100 times and you’re just getting slower and slower, and sloppier.”

It also bears mentioning, no one has ever been paid a straight salary of $ 100 million for a single movie. While some have made more than that over time, through deals on the backend and merchandising, Robert Downey Jr. holds the title for being the highest paid film actor, having received a salary of $ 40 million for Captain America: Civil War in 2014. (By the tabloid’s math, Bale was being offered two and a half times that.) Gossip Cop reported 12 months ago the story about Bale being offered $ 100 million to play Batman again was inaccurate, and it remains wrong to this day.

Sandra Bullock Calling Off Wedding To Bryan Randall?

Sandra Bullock Wedding Bryan Randall

(Getty Images)

Sandra Bullock is not calling off her wedding to Bryan Randall, despite a bogus tabloid report. There was no ceremony planned in the first place. Gossip Cop can correct the inaccurate story.

According to the National Enquirer, the actress was set to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend of more than three years, but had a change of heart because she doesn’t want the photographer adopting her two kids. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Sandy loves Bryan, but she doesn’t want to have to deal with the possibility of a custody war should they ever break up.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The outlet’s supposed source goes on to say that Bullock thought of getting up a prenup to prevent Randall from having legal rights to her children, but “an attorney told her a prenup wouldn’t protect her parental rights with the kids, so she’s just shutting down his proposal altogether.” The questionable tipster adds, “Bryan’s been great with the kids – but she refuses to let herself get boxed in.”

The tabloid’s report is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable “source,” but Bullock’s rep is going on the record to dismiss it. The actress and her boyfriend never had a wedding in the works. The magazine’s entire scenario is fictional.

In addition to being fabricated, the publication’s story doesn’t actually make sense. If Randall were to marry the actress, he would become the stepfather of her two children, but he wouldn’t automatically become their legal parent. Stepparents have to go through an adoption process to have rights to their stepchildren. Marriage alone doesn’t make it legally binding, so the magazine’s premise is erroneous.

It should also be noted, Bullock said in a 2015 interview with People magazine that she doesn’t plan on getting married again, adding, “But I can see myself in a committed, safe relationship where there is lots of love and laughter.” That what she’s found with Randall, but the actress’s views on marriage haven’t changed.

Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer’s sister outlet, Life & Style, for wrongly reporting that Bullock was pregnant with Randall’s baby. This latest story makes no mention of the actress expecting a child. The magazine’s other sister outlet, In Touch, falsely claimed earlier this year that Bullock and Randall were already secretly married. These relative publications can’t seem to decide on a consistent storyline about the actress. This latest one is as untrue as the rest of them.

Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom Battling Over Prenup?

Katy Perry Orlando Bloom Prenup

(Getty Images)

Are Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom battling over her insistence that he sign a prenup before they get married? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.

According to Life & Style, the singer and actor secretly got engaged in September, but they may never make it down the aisle because she’s trying to protect her $ 365 million fortune. The story is incorrect from the very start. Gossip Cop already busted the magazine last month for falsely claiming that Perry and Bloom got engaged in Greece in September. The singer’s spokesperson told us on the record that it wasn’t true.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

Still, the magazine is now claiming that Perry presented her boyfriend with “an ironclad prenup” that includes a $ 2 million cheating clause and $ 1 million penalty if he leaves her within their first two years of marriage. An alleged insider tells the outlet, “Orlando is madly in love with Katy and wants to marry her, but that doesn’t stop him from being offended. He doesn’t understand why she’s being this way.”

The supposed source further contends that Perry is being cautious due to her failed marriage to Russell Brand, which ended after just 14 months. “Katy suffered humiliation and embarrassment during her split from Russell,” adds the suspicious tipster. “She was lucky he didn’t go after her millions, because he could have taken her to the cleaners.” The “insider” goes on to say that Perry has now decided “she needs to make sure that her money is protected, as well as her dignity.”

Considering that the couple isn’t engaged, it’s clear the magazine’s article is baseless. Regardless, Gossip Cop once again checked in with Perry’s rep, who confirms this latest article is false as well. A source close to Bloom also tells us the report is “not true” and that he’s not engaged to the singer, let alone battling her over a prenup.

It’s worth noting, it’s very possible that the singer and actor will get engaged at some point in the near future. Their relationship is going strong and People magazine recently noted that Bloom is “ready to settle down” with Perry. However, they’re not currently engaged and Life & Style’s account of events is completely made-up.

It should also be mentioned, the tabloid has trouble keeping track of its phony narratives. Gossip Cop called out the magazine in April for wrongly reporting that Perry and Bloom had gotten engaged in Tokyo. The magazine’s last two stories about the couple claim the actor proposed during a trip to Greece in September. In addition to being wrong, the outlet is also inconsistent.

Brad Pitt Unhappy ‘Manny’ Hired By Angelina Jolie Is Bonding With Kids?

Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt Manny

(Getty Images)

Is Brad Pitt unhappy the “manny” Angelina Jolie hired is bonding with their kids? That’s the claim by a couple of this week’s tabloids and a related website. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively correct the falsehood.

According to RadarOnline, Jolie and Pitt’s custody battle and divorce proceedings are negatively impacting their relationship with their six children and, as a result, the “kids have started to bond” with “another man,” namely their male nanny, Oliver Crane. Then, to push its premise that he’s become a father-like figure to the kids, as a result of Pitt’s “absence,” the website points to how Oliver recently took Knox and Shiloh to a “robotics class.” To give credence to its report, the blog maintains it has an “insider,” who shares how Oliver not only goes with the two youngsters to robotics class, but he’s also “entrusted with driving them.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

To be sure, mannies and nannies often drive young children around and take them to fun activities. It’s not expected of 12- and 10-year-olds, particularly the offspring of famous parents, to do it by themselves.

In reality, the blog and its sister publication, Star, paid for paparazzi photos of Oliver with Shiloh and Knox walking up a ramp that led to the robotics class and then later getting into a grey car. It should be abundantly clear the website doesn’t truly have a Jolie insider feeding the outlet with information. Instead, it seemingly made-up those remarks on its own, based on what one can see in those pictures, or its source is the photographer who followed and took shots of the minors without their consent.

You’ll notice the site didn’t mention anything about a “ramp that led to the robotics class” or them “getting into a grey car.” Clearly, Gossip Cop must have an even better “source.” Or, since we’re honest, we simply described what’s in the photos and didn’t pretend, like the blog did, to have an “insider” who knows all about Oliver and his “bond” with the Jolie-Pitt kids.

The website’s purported tipster goes on to contend, “Oliver is particularly close to Shiloh and Knox.” Gossip Cop suspects if the outlet had bought photos of Oliver with Vivienne and Zahara, its “insider” would have been quoted as saying, “Oliver is particularly close to Vivienne and Zahara.”

Towards the end of the online article, it notes how Oliver is the son of Simon Crane, a stunt coordinator with whom Jolie has worked on many occasions. Interestingly, the blog doesn’t mention any of the films Jolie and Crane have collaborated on, such as Maleficent, Salt, Laura Craft: Tomb Raider, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Perhaps the omission is because the site would then have to acknowledge Pitt also knows the Crane family, and has no objections to Oliver taking care of his kids.

Significantly, though, while RadarOnline was able to correct the manny’s name to Oliver, its sister outlet Star published its version of the article a couple of days earlier and, in the process, exposed how phony their reports actually are. Throughout the magazine’s bogus piece, Oliver is repeatedly referred to as “Oscar.” For instance, while the site claims, “Oliver is particularly close to Shiloh and Knox,” the tabloid’s edition maintains, “Oscar is particularly close to Shiloh and Knox.” Similarly, the blog writes, “Oliver is the son of one of Angie’s oldest friends,” while the print story asserts, “Oscar is the son of one of Angie’s oldest friends.”

Angelina Jolie Manny

(RadarOnline and Star)

Oscar is actually Oliver’s brother, but the outlets must’ve mistook the siblings. It appears a staffer misidentified the Crane brothers, and then had to backtrack and fix all the seemingly fake quotations to reflect that Oliver is Jolie’s kids’ nanny, not Oscar. But if the site and the tabloid really had an “insider,” they would have known from the start that Oliver takes care of the children, and Oscar works in film production.

The only other major difference between the two reports, other than one being stuck with the wrong name throughout, is the tabloid’s claim of how “Brad isn’t thrilled that a new man is having such an influence on his children’s lives.” Again, it’s not a “new man.” As noted above, it’s the son of someone Pitt knows very well.

In fact, the elder Crane worked with Pitt on World War Z and even Troy, which was made a year before he and Jolie filmed and fell in love on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. And while another sister publication, Life & Style, also regurgitated the same narrative before editorializing that Pitt “better watch out,” a source connected to the actor assures Gossip Cop he’s not unhappy the manny is bonding and taking care of his kids.

Gossip Cop is not surprised by how fake the manny tale is. We have corrected all of these outlets an astounding number of times. For example, we busted Star just a little more than a week ago when it absurdly reported Pitt and ex-wife Jennifer Aniston are having a baby. And it’s Jolie insiders are pretty bad, too. Just four weeks ago, Gossip Cop corrected Life & Style when it wrongly claimed on a cover that Jolie and Justin Theroux were dating.

Additionally, we’ve repeatedly exposed RadarOnline for its slew of phony articles about Pitt and Jolie. Among the many untrue stories it posted was how Jolie was “furious” Pitt was going to turn Neri Oxman from his “girlfriend” into his “next wife. Of course, the actor never even dated the MIT professor. As we’ve said before, if you enjoy reading fiction, those outlets publish plenty of it, but it you want the truth, there’s only one Gossip Cop.

5 Wrong Rumors About Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie

Leonardo DiCaprio Margot Robbie Rumors

(Getty Images)

Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie have been at the center of false tabloid stories since they first co-starred together in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street. Now that the two are reuniting for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, the bogus reports have started emerging again. Here are five recent wrong rumors about the co-stars.

In September, Gossip Cop busted Woman’s Day Australia for falsely claiming that DiCaprio was pursuing Robbie on the set of their upcoming movie. The unreliable magazine failed to mention that DiCaprio is dating model Camila Morrone. The actor had been in a relationship with the model for more than nine months at the time the story was published, and the two are still together. In fact, recent reports suggest that their romance is becoming increasingly serious. Regardless, sources assured us DiCaprio wasn’t hitting on his married co-star.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

In July, Gossip Cop debunked a Life & Style story claiming DiCaprio called out Brad Pitt for flirting with Robbie on the set of Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. The article was a complete work of fiction. For starters, Robbie’s first day of filming on the Quentin Tarantino movie took place just one day before the magazine published its phony story. Additionally, Pitt wasn’t on set that day and the actor’s spokesperson later confirmed that he and the actress hadn’t even began working together yet. DiCaprio didn’t confront his co-star over nonexistent flirting.

Gossip Cop called out New Idea in April for alleging that Robbie’s husband, Tom Ackerley, was worried about DiCaprio trying to steal his wife on the set of their new film. The tabloid contended that the assistant director was jealous and wary of the movie star given his reputation as a “ladies man.” However, Robbie had already debunked past rumors about her and DiCaprio having any sort of romantic connection. “We’re friends. Those rumors were inevitable, but there’s no truth to them,” she told Vogue Australia when The Wolf of Wall Street was released. Their dynamic hasn’t changed and Ackerley never worried about the actor stealing his wife.

Also in April, back when Robbie was still just in talks for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, NW wrongly reported that Ackerley wasn’t allowing his wife to join the film because he didn’t want her working with Pitt and DiCaprio. The magazine claimed that the assistant director had trust issues and didn’t want his wife around the two handsome leading men. Around the same time the bogus story was published, E! News dedicated an article to Robbie and Ackerley’s strong marriage, noting that he’s “very supportive” of her career. More importantly, Robbie officially joined Once Upon a Time In Hollywood just a few weeks after Gossip Cop debunked the tabloid’s false narrative.

And finally, Gossip Cop busted Woman’s Day Australia in January for similarly reporting that Ackerley was upset about Robbie reuniting with DiCaprio. As noted above, the assistant director is a champion of his wife’s career and doesn’t hold her back from work over jealousy of her co-stars. Also, Robbie had previously described DiCpario as “a wonderful big brother,” adding, “He took me under his wing and always looked out for me, which is really nice.” The relationship between the co-stars has always been friendly and professional. The actress’s husband had absolutely no issue with the two teaming up for a second time.

Katie Holmes, Jamie Foxx NOT Getting Married In Paris, Despite Report

Katie Holmes Jamie Foxx Married Paris

(Getty Images)

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx aren’t planning to get married in Paris next year, despite a completely false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. Reps for both stars tell us it’s untrue.

An article in the latest issue of the National Enquirer, which was later posted by RadarOnline, says the couple are ready to tie the knot after years of keeping their relationship a secret. An alleged insider tells the magazine that Foxx “has been a handful” ever since they started dating, “but Katie’s convinced him to settle down, and they’re ready to make it official.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The supposed source further contends, “Katie has waited a long time to marry Jamie, and she’s now made it clear where she wants to get married and when. She’s desperate for a winter wedding in the City of Light.” From there, the unreliable outlet says the two have been living together in a $ 56 million penthouse apartment in New York City. However, Gossip Cop already called out the magazine’s sister publication, Star, when it wrongly reported last month that Holmes and Foxx were buying a $ 56 million apartment in New York. The actress’s rep told us on the record that the two aren’t shacking up together.

Still, the questionable tipster goes on to say that Foxx plans to adopt Holmes’ 12-year-old daughter Suri “when the time is right, but not before they’ve said their vows.” The alleged source adds, “They know it won’t go down well with Tom [Cruise], but it’s what he and Katie want — and also what Suri wants. She barely knows who Tom is!”

The tabloid’s article is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly imaginary “insider,” but Foxx’s spokesperson tells Gossip Cop on the record that it’s false. A rep qualified to speak on Holmes’ behalf also tells us the story is fabricated. The actor and actress simply aren’t planing a wedding in the French capital.

It’s worth noting, this premise isn’t original. Earlier this month, Gossip Cop called out NW for making up a similar story about Holmes and Foxx getting married in Paris. The narrative wasn’t true then and it’s no more accurate now.

As for the Enquirer, the publication has a very poor track record when it comes to accurately reporting about the couple. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming that Holmes and Foxx had split over the actress’s supposed “paranoia” about Scientologists coming after them. This latest article about the pair is more fiction.

Nicole Kidman Sent Keith Urban To Rehab After Near Relapse?

Nicole Kidman Keith Urban Rehab Relapse

(Getty Images)

One of this week’s tabloids claims Nicole Kidman stage and intervention for Keith Urban and sent him to rehab after he nearly relapsed earlier this year. The story is completely false. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.

Urban went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction just a few months into his marriage in 2006, but he’s been sober ever since. According to New Idea, however, the country star “came close to a breakdown” earlier this year and his wife had to step in to save him. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Keith’s been through a rough few months. After he and Nicole hit a rocky patch, he came close to relapsing and spent two weeks at a rehab facility.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The supposed source continues, “Nicole was his rock through it all, and despite the hurdles they were facing in their marriage, she put it all to the side and stuck by him – ensuring he got all the help he needed to battle with his past demons.” The questionable tipster further contends that Kidman “even moved a life coach into their home to work with him and help him mentally prepare for his tour.”

The tabloid’s report is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly nonexistent “source,” but Gossip Cop is told on the record by Urban’s rep that it’s complete nonsense. The country star didn’t come close to a relapse earlier this year, nor did he check into a treatment facility. Tellingly, the unreliable magazine doesn’t mention when this supposed incident even occurred.

Earlier this year, Urban opened up about his sobriety during a South by Southwest panel, noting that he has “less fear” since his wife helped him get clean 12 years ago. The musician has been committed to his sobriety ever since. The idea that spouses were having marriage problems isn’t true either. Gossip Cop busted the magazine in April for falsely claiming that Kidman and Urban were getting a “$ 413 million divorce.” Now that it’s clear the couple’s marriage is going strong, the outlet is seemingly trying to save face by alleging that Urban went to rehab to save their relationship. It’s simply not the case.

This year alone, Kidman and Urban have attended several events together, including awards shows and red carpet premieres. The spouses always praise each other while accepting awards, including at January’s Golden Globes, where she won Best Actress for “Big Little Lies,” and this month’s CMA Awards, where he won Entertainer of the Year. The happy spouses are also often spotted on date nights, and the actress has joined her husband on stage at several of his concerts. There’s zero indication they’ve been having any marital issues or that the musician has been struggling to stay sober. The tabloid’s article is a complete work of fiction.

5 Wrong Ben Affleck Movie Rumors

Ben Affleck Movie Rumors

(Getty Images)

Ben Affleck’s personal life is often the subject of phony tabloid stories, but his professional life is frequently targeted as well. Gossip Cop has debunked several false claims surrounding the actor’s movie career. Here are five recent wrong rumors.

Last month, Gossip Cop busted Star for falsely claiming that Affleck was casting Playboy model Shauna Sexton in his upcoming movie Torrance. The actor and model had a brief fling, and according to the magazine, he was giving her a role in his new film. Around the same time the bogus article was published, Affleck and Sexton split. The model, who’s never acted before, isn’t appearing in Torrance.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

Also last month, Gossip Cop debunked a National Enquirer story alleging that Affleck’s friends feared his role in Torrance would lead to a relapse. In the film, the actor plays a former high school basketball coach struggling with addiction, and the magazine said the actor’s pals believed he would go too deep into his character and start drinking again. The outlet’s ridiculous premise was based on claims from an anonymous “source,” but Affleck’s rep told us on the record that his “friends loved the script for him” and weren’t worried he’d take on the bad habits of his character.

Gossip Cop also called out the Globe last month for wrongly reporting that Affleck would be starring in a movie about Scott Peterson, who was convicted in 2004 of murdering his pregnant wife and their unborn son. The story was seemingly concocted because the actor shares somewhat of a resemblance with the killer, but Affleck’s spokesperson confirmed he had no intention of playing Peterson in a film. The actor has several real projects lined up over the next few years, including Torrance and the Netflix movie The Last Thing He Wanted. Affleck will also be directing a true-crime movie starring Matt Damon. A Scott Peterson biopic isn’t in the pipeline.

In July, Gossip Cop busted OK! for making up a story about Affleck wanting to star in a PG-rated movie to win over his kids. The outlet claimed the actor felt guilty about “the way he treated their mom [Jennifer Garner],” and believed starring in a “family-friendly flick” would help repair his relationship with his three children. Not only did a rep for Affleck tell us the story was fabricated, but there’s never been a rift between the actor and his kids. In fact, Garner paid tribute to Affleck on Father’s Day earlier this year, writing in an Instagram post, “Our kids are lucky to have a dad who looks at them the way you look at them and loves them the way you love them.”

And finally, Gossip Cop called out OK! in February for falsely claiming that Affleck wanted to “reinvent himself” as a comedian and was begging Kristen Wiig to co-star in a movie with him. The tabloid claimed that the actor believed he could get back in the public’s good graces if he made a comedy. Not only did Wiig’s rep tell us the story was untrue, but Affleck’s upcoming filmography proves he’s not trying to become a comedy star. As noted above, Affleck is currently filming the addiction drama Torrance, and all of the actor’s other upcoming projects are serious in nature.
