Is Bethenny Frankel blocking Jill Zarin’s attempt to return to the “Real Housewives of New York City”? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.

It was announced last week that Zarin, who left the Bravo show in 2011, will make guest appearances on the upcoming season, but won’t be a full-time cast member. Zarin and Frankel had a major falling out several years ago, and according to the National Enquirer, Zarin’s part-time status is a result of her former co-star telling producers she shouldn’t be an official housewife again.

“Bethenny will just not let go of their feud and she doesn’t want Jill back on the show,” an alleged insider tells the magazine. “Jill will appear on a few episodes with her friend Luann de Lesseps, but that’s all.” The magazine’s account of events simply isn’t accurate.

Back in July, Zarin herself said she’s only interested in returning to “RHONY” as “a friend.” The reality star told E! News, “Somebody started a rumor that I was in talks with Bravo. That’s not true… I would like to come back as a friend.” It’s since been confirmed that Zarin will make brief appearances on the new season, but she never expressed interest in becoming a full-time cast member again.

The outlet also fails to mention that Frankel and Zarin aren’t feuding anymore. The two made peace earlier this year when Frankel attended the funeral for Jill’s late husband, Bobby Zarin. In a subsequent interview on “Watch What Happens Live,” Zarin gave an update on her friendship with Frankel. “We’re all good,” she told Bravo host Andy Cohen. The two women still aren’t as close as they once were, but Zarin noted that they exchange texts, adding, “If I needed something, I feel like I could call her and say: ‘You know Bethenny, could you help me with this?’”

Frankel also addressed her relationship with Zarin on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live” earlier this year. The reality star explained, “It’s nice. She’ll text me, and we have a nice interaction, and it’s clean, which is what I wanted it to be.”

Regardless of all the evidence disproving the tabloid’s phony story, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source involved in the production of “RHONY,” and we’re assured there’s no truth it. Frankel never tried to prevent Zarin from returning to the reality show, and Zarin was never interested in taking on a full-time role in the first place.
