Drama, Drama, DRAMA! Sia Spills About Working With Music Royalty Like Beyoncé, Katy Perry & More!

If you’re ever wondering who holds the most industry power these days, it’s epic songwriters—notably Sia Furler!

This bleach blonde sought after talent has written hits for Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Flo Rida, just to name a few…

The songstress has rarely spoken up about her work, until now—and she’s ready to dish unheard of details about some of today’s biggest hits!

Take Beyoncé‘s powerful tune Pretty Hurts, for instance.

Did you know the ballad was originally meant for Katy Perry and then Rihanna??

Sia revealed that she emailed Katy the track immediately, but never heard back—causing her to forward the song to RiRi’s management, who never paid the rights fee…

After that, Yoncé stepped in to close the deal!

And when Miz Perry heard the track finished for the first time, she was pissed!

Sia said the Roar singer texted her:

“I’m pretty hurt you never sent me this song.”

To which Sia responded:

“Check your email.”

Kitty Purry’s momma drama didn’t even end there!

The songwriter also confessed that Katy was the one who suggested David Guetta keep her voice on the track Titanium—even though the DJ told Sia to write the song for Alicia Keys or Mary J. Blige‘s voice!

Katy said:

“I had just come off Firework and didn’t want to repeat myself. I have to balance out my anthems, or else I’ll just be a motivational speaker. I was like, ‘I think you’re crazy not to just keep Sia.'”

Sia was surprisingly upset, admitting:

“I was really upset about it, because electronic dance music is not my kind of music. Of course, it turned out to help my career as a songwriter.”

If this is just a sampling of what Sia knows, we’d love to Q&A the shizz out of her!

Music drama aside, thank goodness everything is coming up roses for this budding talent!
