Live Blog – George’s Exit

 

So the rumours are true and Glorious George decided to head off into the sunset before the race was won. Personally I think he stood a really good chance as from the comments left, we all loved him!

 

He told Kim Woodburn: “I feel like we’re down to just a few people, all of whom I like and want to see them all benefit but I may be standing in their way, who knows I may end up in the final three, my girl has to go back and at this stage in my life I have to think what is important to me in life. With Christmas coming up it makes sense to spend a few days here with my girl and go back and spend time with my kid.

 

“Time means more than anything to me now, more than money, more than life, I feel like I’ve lived a life and I feel easy in my skin, if this was something huge for me to do or to prove something I’d of stuck at it but I don’t want to take it away from you guys.

 

“I’ve had a really good time but sometimes I feel I’m not contributing to the camp but I’ve made up my mind and want to go.”

 

With a heavy heart Kim passed the news to Justin and Gino: “He heard his girlfriend’s voice last night and he said to me that she’d taken time off and she’s got to go on Sunday, she’s a busy lady and for her to taken this time off for me is incredible, he really wants to see her before she goes.”

 

Leter George decided not to make a showbiz ‘announcement’ but tell the campers personally one by one. “As I played the game, I started to realize this (show) is a very serious thing and I don’t know if I really want to compete against each of you and so I thought about it and spoke to my girl and as she’s here, I’ve made up my mind to go.”

 

Poor Jimmy started filling up as George spoke to them, “You are a very tight bunch of people and the last thing I want to do is go against anybody because when Joe and Stuart did their Trial yesterday I thought I don’t want to do that myself. So I’ve thought about it a while and I don’t want to let the guys down, I want to be straight up with you about it.”

 

With tears falling Jimmy tried to smile, “I 100% support you; it’s been an honour to meet you.” He told the Bush Telebgraph, “He’s been an inspiration to the group and I’m in awe of the bloke, he’s an absolute gentleman, a top bloke.”

 

George then turned on the charm and his sense of humour returned, "I’m going to talk with the wife (meaning Kim). “I don’t want someone else in this camper, if another man is in this bed!" Bless him… Kim is obviously gutted to see him leave (but at least he’ll get a good night’s sleep tonight!)

 

“You’ll be seeing me in your dreams tonight George and I’ll be seeing you in mine.”

 

George told the group: “I’ve had such a great experience out of all this so I’m staying and having one last dinner with you guys tonight and then go after that. The selfish part of me wants to be with my girlfriend and I don’t want to face either of you on a Trial – it would be the end of it right there for me.”

 

 

George smiled, “So far this game has been extraordinary. I’m a lot better off that when I came into this show.”

 

Then Justin burst into tears, “I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been overwhelmed by you. We’re losing our captain but we’ll make sure the ship sails on. He’s a noble and honourable man.”

 

…Finally just before George walked out Sabrina sang “That’s What Friends Are For” and Kim finally broke down.

 

If nothing else I think George has realised what an impact he made and how valuable he was. The question is, where will we be without Gorgeous George? Will the camp be drop off into Boresville or will new characters stick their necks out?

BUSHTUCKER TRIAL – BUZZ OFF:

Stuart and Sabrina only managed to scoop three stars out of a posible seven and I’m pretty disappointed wth the celebs and the trial!

 

Sabrina had to dress as a bumble bee and all she had to do was keep her antenna away from the rail above while traversing an assault course. She’s a tiny thing and very agile, but she DID NOT do well.

Every time she whacked the rail, Stuart received an electric shock and a host of critters and creepies flooded over him. I bet Stu was wishing he’d dressed as the rudy bumble bee! He wouldn’t have looked bad you know…

Regardless of the poor trial tonight, once again it’s Gino who lifts my mood and restores interest in the show. While Sab and Stu are filling everyone in on the trial, Gino just wants to know one thing. "So when you were alone in the jungle, did you do any kissing or what?"

"No Gino," Sab replies. "You’re such a troublemaker!"

Go on Gino, get us the goss!

 

 

CELEBRITY CHEST:

Gino and Justin were up for the celebrity chest tonight and to be honest it felt morelike a Bushtucker Trial!

I felt sorry for them as they’d both admitted that they’re scared of heights, and the task was called Rungless Ladder.

They each had just two rungs and that they had to clip and unclip to a rungless ladder. The problem was they had to climb 30 feet and although they managed it they were terrified!

The worst moment came when Justin had a hissy fit as wasps flew from the tree and circled the pair. You know how he runs a mile if so much as a fly goes near him? Well this time he had nowhere to run.

After all that effort the team couldn’t decide which country has the longest coastline, Australia or Canada and they missed out -again!

Will they ever win a celebrity chest? 
It was cheese and crackers tonight too!

…Never mind, at least the producers gave them a lifeline. Later they competed in a quiz about themselves and won a whopping chocolate cake! Save me a slice guys!
