Urban Outfitters Sells Kent State University Dead Student Fashions

URBAN Outfitters is delling a sweatshirt  “Vintage Kent State Sweatshirt”. It’s splattered in red blotches that look a lot like blood stains.

Kent State is the place where on May 4, 1970 four students were gunned down by the Ohio National Guard during Vietnam War protests.

The University reacts:

“We take great offense to a company using our pain for their publicity and profit. This item is beyond poor taste and trivializes a loss of life that still hurts the Kent State community today.”

Urban Outfitters was foinded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. back in 1970. Maybe it’s going to revisit other momentous events from that year in its clothing. Ideas to consider:
