Adam Lambert is returning to “American Idol.”

Last season’s runner-up made the announcement on Twitter. “Yes, I have been booked on Idol! Can’t reveal the date yet but it’s a ways off…,” Lambert writes.

He adds, “Kris and Allison were awesome last night,” referring to Season 8 winner Kris Allen and fourth-place finisher Allison Iraheta, both of whom performed on Thursday’s telecast.

Gossip Cop will have an update on Lambert’s scheduled appearance as soon as possible.

Gary Coleman suffered an apparent seizure on the set of “The Insider,” the show confirms.

He was transferred in “stable condition” to a local hospital, according to its official site.

Drew Pinsky, better known as Dr. Drew, was also on set and aided the actor until paramedics arrived.

Coleman was in the hospital back on January 6 after suffering what he described as “a little seizure activity.”

Gossip Cop is glad to hear Coleman is “stable” and hopes he recovers swiftly.

The soundtrack for “The Runaways” has just been announced.

It will be available for digital download on March 16. Hard copy release is slated for March 23.

The album features David Bowie, Sex Pistols, MC5, The Stooges, and, of course, the voices of Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.

It’s beginning to seem like X17 has a simple formula:

When things get slow, make up something about Lindsay Lohan.

The site claimed she was hooking up with model Petey Wright. (Wrong.)

Then it reported she was with John Mayer. (Wrong.)

There was also that story that Samantha Ronson allegedly punched Lohan. (Wrong.)

Now, according to the site’s “source,” when Lohan showed up while Ronson was spinning records at nightclub Bardot earlier this week, the DJ “enlisted the help of two security guards” to keep Lohan at bay.

“Samantha wanted to send Lindsay a message,” the source tells X17. “So she made sure security was guarding the DJ booth at all times while she worked. Lindsay didn’t dare try to talk to her or make a scene with two big guys standing between her and Samantha!”

Ronson had guards posted at her DJ booth to protect her from Lohan?

No.

Of course not.

Like so much else X17 has claimed about Lohan (and Ronson), it never happened.

When someone asked Ronson on Twitter whether the Bardot bodyguards story was true, she replied, “that’s ridiculous.”

A source tells Gossip Cop the same thing. There was no security showdown at the club.

Maybe X17 should leave the spinning to Ronson.

Trouble is brewing over a Paris Hilton ad in Brazil.

The country, which popularized wearing itsy bitsy bikini bottoms, apparently has a problem with a commercial for Devassa beer, featuring Hilton in a little black dress.

In the spot, Hilton rubs a beer can across her body in the window of an office building as people on the street and in another office gawk at her.

So what’s the big problem here?

According to Brazil’s self-governing agency, Conar, when it comes to selling suds, ”advertising models won’t be treated as sex objects.”

However, several Brazilian ads have featured women dressed in far less while hawking beer on the beach.

“The problem with the ad isn’t a lack of clothing, but its sensual nature,” said a Conar spokesman. “A woman in a bikini on a beach isn’t necessarily sensual; it depends on the context.”

Oh, so rubbing a beer can all over one’s body dressed in nearly nothing, surrounded by other practically naked women, is perfectly fine as long as it’s on a beach, but doing the same thing while fully dressed inside an office building is not? 

Now we get it. Actually, no we don’t.

Both treat women as sex objects.

The body of Andrew Koenig, the missing “Growing Pains” actor, was found dead in Vancouver’s Stanley Park this afternoon.

The actor’s father, “Star Trek” star Walter Koenig, confirmed his son took his life, and that he had been suffering from depression. Andrew Koenig’s mom has asked the public to respect their privacy. 

An earlier search of the expansive park yielded no trace of Koenig, but at noon today Andrew Koenig’s body was discovered by family members and friends.

Koenig lived in Vancouver for three years in the early 1990s, and Stanley Park was among his favorite places, according to the Vancouver Sun.

Koenig had been missing since February 14.

His parents appeared on “The Today Show” yesterday to plea for help in locating the missing actor.

Gossip Cop’s thoughts and prayers go out to the Koenig family during this most difficult of times.

Robert Pattinson will be on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Tuesday, March 2.

Gossip Cop confirmed the booking with a representative for the show.

Pattinson will be in New York promoting his film, “Remember Me.”

He and co-star Emilie de Ravin will appear together on “The View” earlier that day.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, he’ll also be seen that week on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” celebrating the host’s one-year anniversary.

Fallon has had some fun with Pattinson in the past.

The office of the Los Angeles County Coroner has released a report showing which drugs were in Brittany Murphy’s system when the actress died.

According to the report, “Multiple medications were present in the blood, with elevated levels of hydrocodone, acetaminophen, and chlorpheniramine. L-methamphetamine was also present.”

The “pattern of use” suggests “treatment of symptoms of a cold or other respiratory infection.”

Murphy had pneumonia when she passed away.

Assistant Chief Winter of the L.A. Coroner’s office told Gossip Cop a few weeks ago, “If she had gone to the doctor, they could have maybe treated her pneumonia and anemia,” and she might have survived.

He explained, “If you’ve got pneumonia, you need to get proper treatment,” but Murphy self-medicated and the added “combination of prescription and over-the-counter meds played a role” in her death.

The coroner’s report today states, “The possible adverse physiological effects of elevated levels of these medications cannot be discounted, especially in her weakened state. Therefore the manner of death is Accident.”

Incredibly, though, 24 empty prescription bottles – for a variety of ailments and conditions – were found at the scene. And three anti-anxiety medications/sedatives that were in her bloodstream did not match any of her prescriptions.
