Jimmy Carter has been taken to a hospital in Cleveland after suffering an upset stomach on his flight into the city on Tuesday.

According to a spokesperson for his Carter Center, the former U.S. president is now “resting comfortably” at MetroHealth Hospital, where he was transferred for observation.

Officials at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport said Carter’s plane was met by paramedics at approximately 11:30am.

Carter was coming to Cleveland as part of his book tour for “White House Diary.”

He is expected to resume promotion later this week.

The rumor mill just pumped out another gem of absurdity.

Kristen Stewart and Emma Watson are allegedly battling for Robert Pattinson.

“The storm between the two Hollywood leading ladies has been brewing for quite some time,” claims Metro, one of many outlets picking up this story from Heat magazine.

“Kristen can be very jealous and possessive, and in her mind Emma poses a threat,” a so-called “source” dishes to Heat.

And exactly what (cough) “evidence” is there for such a premise?

“Rob has commented before on how cute he thinks Emma is,” claims the tab’s source, and Stewart is nervous that Watson would “have more in common” with Pattinson, a fellow Brit.

What’s more, according to the magazine, Watson has tried to “belittle” Stewart with comments about the Twilight films “selling sex” in a way the Harry Potter franchise does not.

It’s like “she’s telling the world Kristen is a bimbo and she’s a real lady with poise and talent,” continues Heat.

Oh, please.

Earlier this month, the very same Heat ridiculously claimed that Stewart treated Pattinson like a “slave.” All of a sudden she’s petrified of losing him to Watson because of comments about the Twilight movies?

Or is it because she supposedly doesn’t “smile” enough, as Heat insisted in yet another hit piece on Stewart?

The tabloid’s spotty track record with the actress aside, the notion that Hermione Granger has targeted Bella Swan is pure Hogwarts.

We continue to be impressed by the way Heat shows wizardry in conjuring stories from thin air.

Rachel Bilson is reportedly reteaming with “The O.C.” creator Josh Schwartz for a new pilot called “Ghost Angeles.”

Picked up by NBC – even though a script hasn’t been written yet – the show will reportedly focus on Bilson as a young woman who communicates with the dead, and uses the spirits to help guide her life, reports Deadline.

Bilson first shot to fame in 2003 when Schwartz cast her as a guest-star on “The O.C.,” a role that was soon upgraded to series regular.

This will be Schwartz’s second project at NBC, with “Chuck” now in its fourth season.

Was Sarah Palin booed on “Dancing with the Stars”?

That seems to be the question on everyone’s mind after the former vice presidential candidate and mom to “DWTS” contestant Bristol Palin appeared on last night’s live episode.

The elder Palin received a decent amount of camera time, even doing a mini-interview. But shortly before the camera cut to her, boos could be heard from off-screen as co-host Brooke Burke interviewed competitor Jennifer Grey and partner Derek Hough.

“There’s booing in the ballroom,” Burke acknowledged. “We don’t know why.”

So, were the boos for the former Alaskan governor?

Nope, says host Tom Bergeron.

“Audience not booing Bristol’s mom tonight on DWTS,” he tweeted. “They were booing judges score of Jennifer. It was a booapalooza on the judges all night!”

Bristol Palin may have busted a law while busting a move.

The teenage “Dancing with the Stars” contestant and cha cha partner Mark Ballas traveled to Palin’s home state to film a segment last week, at one point dropping by Rumrunners Old Towne Bar and Grill in Anchorage. A camera crew taped as the pair tore up the dance floor and Ballas sang on the bar’s stage.

But only 21-and-over individuals are legally allowed in the establishment.

A state investigator is examining whether it was illegal for the 19-year-old Palin to kick up her heels at Rumrunners.

It may boil down to whether the bar can also be classified as a restaurant, in which case Alaska law permits underage patrons as long as they’re with a 21-and-over companion, as Palin was with 24-year-old Ballas.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety has no official comment at this time.
