Michael Douglas lunged at a photographer after his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones claimed to have been punched in a crowd of paparazzi as the couple entered their hotel in London last night.
Hours after Prince Charles honored Zeta-Jones as a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire), the Welsh actress and Douglas were leaving their car at their hotel when a crush of photographers swarmed.
At one point, Zeta-Jones shouts that one of the paparazzi “punched” her and asks for police assistance.
Douglas, who is recovering after a battle with throat cancer, then comes back out from their hotel lobby to confront the man he believes got too physical with Zeta-Jones.

One of the most controversial points from yesterday’s Charlie Sheen radio rant comes when the actor refers to “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre as “Chaim Levine.”
Sheen’s peculiar use of that name – made in the midst of a longer screed against the man he calls a “turd” – has been interpreted by many observers as anti-Semitic, especially given his hateful tone and the implication that Lorre avoids his “real name.”
It is worth pointing out, however, that Lorre (who was born Charles Levine), recently referred to himself as “Chaim,” too.
The February 7 episode of Lorre’s show “Mike & Molly” carried a Chuck Lorre Productions title card that the producer himself wrote while visiting Israel.
Using the card to ponder his Jewish roots, Lorre reflects, “Why have I spent a lifetime moving away from that group? How did Chaim become Chuck? How did Levine become Lorre?”
(Note: the Hebrew version of Charles is Chaim.)
So it’s very possible that Sheen’s allusion to “Chaim Levine” was, as he claims to TMZ, done to call out Lorre “the man, not the bulls**t TV persona.”
Sheen himself was born Carlos Estevez, and it’s reasonable to say that someone referring to Sheen by that name isn’t necessarily denigrating his Latino heritage.
Still, the use of Lorre’s Hebrew name in the context of Sheen’s diatribe raises eyebrows.
LISTEN HERE and decide for yourself.

James Franco has signed on to play the title role in Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful, a prequel to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
The film tells the story from the Wizard’s point of view, and chronicles how he arrived in Oz and became its ruler.
The upcoming Oscar host will be reuniting with Spider-man director Sam Raimi for the flick, which is set to begin production this summer.
What do you think about Franco playing the Wizard of Oz?

Alex Pettyfer’s house caught fire last night as the actor attended the premiere for his new film Beastly.
The star left the event early to check on the property near Beverly Hills, where 27 firefighters had responded to the blaze.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
“Glee” actress Dianna Agron shared the home with Pettyfer before the couple broke up earlier this month.

Charlie Sheen is creating a lot of drama right now, but at least one major rumor is totally false.
RadarOnline posted an “exclusive” that Sheen will be moving to HBO for a new half-hour show called “Sheen’s Corner.”
“I’m close to securing a deal with HBO for a 10 show guarantee,” Sheen tells the gullible site. “It will be epic, all types of guests and we will focus on the truth and the absurd!”
Even more “absurd” – Radar’s claim that the deal would reputedly give the troubled star $5 million per episode.
Now the Sheen-to-HBO story is being picked up everywhere.
But it’s WRONG.
There’s NOTHING in the works between Sheen and HBO.
“There’s no truth to it,” a rep for HBO tells Gossip Cop.
Maybe Radar should shut down production just like Sheen’s “Two and a Half Men” did.
