Photos from a shoot Beyoncé recently starred in are stirring up some controversy. Released on the internet today, the pictures from the magazine L’Officiel Paris feature Beyoncé wearing dark face makeup. The shoot was inspired by African Queens and was meant to serve as a tribute to Nigerian political singer Fela Kuti. Many are accusing the magazine of being offensive. They claim that treating “blackface†as art is extremely racist.
Maybe the magazine shouldn’t have used makeup similar to such a controversial historical image. However, I don’t believe that they or Beyoncé did it to intentionally offend anyone. The photo shoot was meant to be an artistic, honorable tribute to African culture. As for Beyoncé, she has long been a role model for strong women of all races. On top of that, her husband Jay-Z helped produce a Broadway musical entitled Fela! about Fela Kuti’s work.
Beyoncé has yet to make a statement but will most likely defend the purpose of the photo shoot.

A temporary restraining order has been granted to Rose McGowan and involves a man who allegedly has been harassing both McGowan and her employees.
The order was issued against Luis Santo III who McGowan says has been calling her office and her agents and “insisting he is in love with me [Rose], demanding to talk to me even though I have never met him or spoken to him.”
Filed in LA Superior Court the documents claim Santo proceeded to threaten Rose’s employees when they wouldn’t let him speak with her.
In broken Tweeted English Luis said:
“Rose don’t hurt me! iwill not kidding.u will be gone.”
For the time being Santo must remain at least 200 yards away from McGowan at all times, while a hearing to make the order permanent will be held on March 11.

The cast and crew of hit CBS series Two and A Half Men have packed up and headed home for the rest of the production season after a rant by Charlie Sheen reached the web.
The show was already on temporary shutdown while Charlie Sheen was suppose to be receiving help for his drug addiction among other personal problems.
The show was scheduled to start shooting again on Tuesday however CBS execs now say the earliest new shows will air will be September.
In a statement on Thursday CBS execs stated:
“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of ‘Two and a Half Men’ for the remainder of the season.”
That conduct is probably aimed at Charlie Sheen calling Two and a Half Men creator a:
“Stupid, stupid little man and a pussy punk that I never want to be like…â€
There was more to the rant, but you get the point. He also called Lorre a “turd” and a “clown” and a “charlatan” during a radio interview with Alex Jones.
How will Sheen afford his porn family girlfriends without the millions he would be making on Two and a Half Men.

Randy and Evi Quaid are officially Canadian! The Quaids have been waiting for citizenship in the country since they fled the United States in 2010 over legal troubles and the fear that a group of Hollywood actor killers known as the “starwhackers” were out to kill them.
It was actually Evi Quaid who was given citizenship, which gives her husband the right to stay in the country and paves the way for him to become a Canadian citizen as well.
It’s still unclear what type of action will be taken against the Quaids who were found squatting in a home they once owned before fleeing the country amid legal troubles from that occupancy violation.
Here’s a CNN video regarding the couple’s citizenship:
Are there any other crazies we could send the way of Canada? Perhaps Tom Cruise?
