British TV is preparing to launch an assault on the history of the Titanic with a new mini-series and Dame Helen Mirren is reportedly up for a starring role with the show.
The series, a four-part affair will be released to pay tribute with Titanic’s 100th anniversary and according to The Mirror the 65-year-old actress will be making her second appearance in a Titanic special, her first being the 1979 TV drama called SOS Titanic.
Filming for the series is set to begin this Spring in Hungary, while the mini-series will make a UK debut April 2012.
Still no word if a U.S. debut is in the works at this time.

“Jennifer Aniston’s love life hasn’t been a fairy tale lately, so she was excited for a blind date with a mystery man on March 9,” begins a breathless piece in In Touch.
The get-together at L.A.’s Sunset Tower Hotel quickly turned into Aniston’s “worst date ever,” claims In Touch, when the guy “kept on asking questions about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.â€
The mag further notes that “the romantic rendezvous got off to a terrible start when her companion, an entertainment lawyer, didn’t even wait for Jen to show up before ordering.
“It was supposed to be just drinks, but he ordered a full meal,†says the weekly’s alleged “eyewitness,” who adds, “When the bill came, he wanted to know if they should split it!â€
According to the tab, “a humiliated Jen had had enough,” and “paid the entire bill and left.â€
Sounds even worse than some of Gossip Cop’s bad dates.
Truly unbelievable.
Actually… not believable at all.
A source close to Aniston tells Gossip Cop the supposed blind date “never happened.”
A rep for the actress also says the In Touch article is “all made up.”

Ryan Seacrest, according to a Star story about secrets from celebrity stylists, is a “made-up man.”
The tab reports that the E! and “American Idol” personality “can share makeup with his girlfriend, Julianne Hough.”
Huh?
Star quotes a co-called “source” as saying, “He loves to wear mascara to make his lashes fuller!”
But that’s not all.
The mag adds he also get his eyelashes “tinted auburn brown so that his eyes really pop against his spray tan.”
Actually, the only thing that’s “made-up” is Star’s report.
A source close to Seacrest assures Gossip Cop the tab’s claims are “so untrue.”

Elizabeth Taylor was laid to rest this afternoon at Forest Lawn in Glendale, California.
The private Jewish service was attended by approximately 40 relatives and a few close friends.
The location is where her longtime friend, Michael Jackson, was entombed in September 2009.
Forest Lawn is the resting place for some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart, Spencer Tracy, Walt Disney and Sammy Davis, Jr.
Taylor died from congestive heart failure early yesterday morning, surrounded by her family.

Eli Manning is a first-time dad!
The New York Giants quarterback and his wife Abby McGrew welcomed a baby daughter named Ava Frances on Monday.
The couple, who met while attending the University of Mississippi, wed in April 2008, two months after Manning was named MVP of Super Bowl XLII.
Manning will have more free time than usual this spring to play dad to Ava – NFL owners have locked out players, putting the league’s next season in limbo.

Jaden Smith is the victim of a sick, BOGUS death hoax.
According to yet another gross prank from Global Associated News, “Actor Jaden Smith is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today” in Zermatt, Switzerland.
But Smith is NOT dead.
He’s alive and well.
A rep tells Gossip Cop the sick rumor is “absolutely not true.”
Smith is currently in Europe, performing with Justin Bieber.
These frequent, totally bogus stories about Smith and dozens of other celebrities “dying” are not funny.
This one – about a child – is particularly disgusting.
Gossip Cop is at a total loss as to why anyone would concoct phony fatalities, and sincerely hopes the only thing that dies out are these horrible hoaxes.

“Justin Bieber is caught up in a teeny -bopper love triangle – and insiders say he’s turning into a ‘player,’” begins a piece in the National Enquirer.
The tab claims Bieber, who has been hanging out with Selena Gomez since last December, “has also fallen for gorgeous Jasmine Villegas,” the star of his “Baby” music video last year.
“Justin’s become famous so quickly that now he’s not content to settle for just one girl,” says a so-called “insider” for the tab, who adds that while attending his Never Say Never premiere with Gomez, The Biebs “was secretly sending romantic text messages to Jasmine.”
So is Bieber really two-timing Gomez?
No!
Bieber and Villegas did share an innocent kiss… six months ago.
Since then, Villegas has been busy recording her own music, while Bieber is currently on his world tour.
Not much time for “two-timing” there.
Also, although The Biebs and Gomez are coy about their relationship, it’s clear they’re very into each other.
The teen heartthrob recently tweeted at the “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress, “I miss you!”
Gossip Cop doesn’t think there’s any kind of “love triangle” taking shape.

“Jessica Biel Has Been Flirting With Gerard Butler!” exclaims a headline from Perez Hilton.
According to the blogger who prints anything that comes across his desk, “Only DAYS after her split with [Justin Timberlake], Jessica Biel has been focused on flirting with hunky Gerard Butler all over Louisiana!”
He notes, “They’re shooting a movie there together, yeah, but have also been spending an awful lot of time off the set as well!”
Perez then mentions that “they were spotted at a crew member’s birthday party at a Japanese restaurant, where once Gerard arrived they couldn’t be separated,” and “a couple of nights later, they went to get some Mexican food together, slamming margaritas left and right!”
He adds, “We say they’d make a very dashing couple, that’s for sure!”
Except for one tiny thing…
Butler and Biel, who are shooting Playing the Field, were NOT flirting.
“They are simply friends working on a film together,” a source close to Butler tells Gossip Cop.

George Lopez cracked some jokes about various “Dancing with the Stars” contestants, including Kendra Wilkinson and Ralph Macchio, but he saved his most brutal stuff for Wendy Williams and Kirstie Alley.
The “Lopez Tonight” host implied that Williams is a man and then compared Alley to a pig.
“She did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away,” Lopez said of Alley.
“Before the show, she went to the market, and then she had roast beef and this is her going all the way home,” he continued, cutting to a clip of a pig screaming “weee!”
