The epic (and completely fictional) struggle between Angelina Jolie and her mortal enemies – elderly Missourians Bill and Jane Pitt – continues this week in the pages of Star.
According to the tab, after Brad Pitt asked his parents to spend some time this summer at Chateau Miraval, the French estate where he and Jolie plan to spend the summer, she “went absolutely ballistic!”
“She lashed out at him and said he was doing this behind her back,” alleges a “source.”
Jolie then supposedly drew a line in the sand, vowing that if Pitt’s folks stay too long, she’ll order them to “get out of my house!”
But Pitt “is digging in his heels,” claims Star, reportedly “creating even more havoc in his already splintered house.”
Neither superstar is backing down, and “the battle rages on,” writes the magazine.
Um, sure.
One of the great things about this kind of rumor is that Star’s wrongness won’t be evident until several months from now when Jolie doesn’t throw Pitt’s parents out of Chateau Miraval. But by then the tabloid will pretend it never invented her ultimatum from thin air in the first place.
And if Pitt’s parents never come to Chateau Miraval, Star will claim it’s because Jolie won this fictional fight.
Either way, Star is less concerned with the facts than with fabricating drama, the kind of “knock-down, drag-out fight” the tabloid’s “insider” insists is tearing apart the Brangelina household.
Week after week, month after month, Star and the other tabs portray Pitt and Jolie’s relationship as being on the brink of catastrophe.
And year after year, the couple remains happily together.
Gossip Cop’s source close to Pitt and Jolie assures us that this latest attempt to show a rift between the stars is as baseless as the last thousand attempts.

“Courteney Cox added fuel to the rumors that she’s dating her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt when she jetted off to Oahu, Hawaii, with him and her daughter” on February 27, writes Life & Style.
The mag then notes that “their first big romantic trip together came just days after Courteney’s estranged husband, David Arquette, revealed on The Oprah Winfrey Show that he had suspected Courteney had cheated on him before they announced their separation last October.”
To the tab’s credit, it acknowledges that Arquette then told Oprah he was wrong to believe rumors of Cox cheating, and knows there’s zero truth to the stories.
That said, however, Life & Style, did omit one very important detail about Cox and Van Holt’s trip to Hawaii – it was for work.
The cast of  ”Cougar Town” has been shooting in Hawaii for the past week, and pictures of Cox filming scenes with on-screen boyfriend Josh Hopkins have even been all over the internet.
If that’s not enough, a rep for Cox confirms to Gossip Cop that the Life & Style story is not true.
Too bad Life & Style was lei-zy with its Hawaii report.

Jim Carrey is the latest victim of a sick, FAKE death hoax.
According to yet another gross prank from Global Associated News, “Actor Jim Carrey is reported to have died after a snowboard accident earlier today” in Zermatt, Switzerland.
But Carrey is NOT dead.
Marleah Leslie, the actor’s rep, tells Gossip Cop the horrible rumor is “absolutely not true.”
The hoax tells a gruesome story.
“Carrey lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed… [He] was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash,” reads the bogus report.
Sound familiar?
It should.
It mimics similarly wrong (and heinous) rumors about other celebrities including Adam Sandler, Avril Lavigne and Owen Wilson.
These hoaxes have happened many times before.
They’re not funny. They’re not cool. They’re not entertaining.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Gossip Cop is at a total loss as to why anyone would concoct phony fatalities, and sincerely hopes the only thing that dies out are these horrible hoaxes.

Roseanne Barr claims a neighbor slaughtered her goats as part of an effort to intimidate her, according to legal documents.
In a request for a restraining order against Richard and Roree Oehlman, the sitcom icon says the couple has been trying to terrorize her ever since Barr moved to her macadamia nut farm in Hawaii, reports TMZ.
According to Barr, the gun-toting Oehlmans declared that they don’t want any “Kaballah studying (that means Jewish) people here on the Big Island.”
After two of Barr’s goats were killed, her neighbor allegedly told the comedian’s son-in-law, “That’s what happens when you piss people off.”
Barr wants a judge to prohibit the neighbors from going near her property or making contact with her family.
