Over the weekend, numerous outlets reported that Cannes juror Uma Thurman had to leave the the film festival to attend the funeral of a family member.
OnTheRedCarpet.com was among the many sites that went with the story, saying, “Uma Thurman has reportedly left the 2011 Cannes Film Festival in France to attend a family funeral in Monaco.”
The site reported that “The identity of the 41-year-old’s relative was not disclosed.”
But the report is NOT accurate.
A rep for Thurman exclusively tells Gossip Cop, “She did not leave Cannes and there was not a death in her family.”
We’re not sure where this rumor started, but we’re glad that it’s not true.

Zach Galifianakis recently gave an interview with ShortList.com to promote The Hangover Part II, and the actor had some not-so-nice things to say about January Jones.
When the site told the comedian that Jones once called him “the most naturally funny man she’d ever met,” Galifianakis sounded very surprised.
“That’s really funny because, if I remember correctly, she and I were very rude to each other,” the funnyman said, and proceeded to tell the story of his first encounter with the “Mad Men” star.
Galifianakis relates, “It was crazy. I was at a party – I’d never met her – and she was like, ‘Come sit down.’ So I sit at her table and talk for 10 minutes, and she goes, ‘I think it’s time for you to leave now.’”
“So I say, ‘January, you are an actress in a show and everybody’s going to forget about you in a few years, so f***ing be nice,’ and I got up and left. And she thinks that’s funny?”
Apparently so!
Then, asked if he’d ever do a sex scene with Jones, the actor told the site, “I wouldn’t want to. I’d hate it.”

HollywoodLife has gone from taking cheap shots at Kristen Stewart whenever possible to botching movie “news” about her to bungling her travel schedule to taunting her about Robert Pattinson’s co-stars to creating fake professional rivalries to stirring controversy over her sex scenes to inventing romantic evenings out to… well, you get the idea.
The site’s track record with Stewart is abysmal (and that’s putting it charitably).
So when HollywoodLife reports that the actress had dinner with a “mystery man,” red flags pop up immediately.
“Eyewitnesses saw Kristen Stewart having a fun night out with a guy friend in Los Angeles Friday night May 20, while Robert Pattinson was stuck filming Cosmopolis in Toronto,” declares the blog, detailing Stewart’s supposed dinner at Sunset Tower Hotel’s restaurant with a “pretty short, brown haired man.”
“Now fans, don’t get upset. This wasn’t a date!” explains HollywoodLife. “The pair looked like they were definitely just friends.”
Phew.
For a second there, we thought the headline, “K-Stew, Mystery Man Have Dinner in Los Angeles Without R-Patz!” might be an attempt to create controversy!
“They seemed like old friends, I mean they were laughing and talking but there wasn’t that romantic spark if you know what I mean,” reports a “witness” for HollywoodLife.
Uh-huh.
One problem.
A rep for the actress confirms to Gossip Cop she was not at Sunset Tower Hotel’s restaurant on Friday.
She wasn’t there with a short, brown-haired man.
She wasn’t there with a tall, blonde woman.
She wasn’t there with Bigfoot or Elvis or the Loch Ness Monster.
She wasn’t there, period.
But we are definitely happy for whatever random, friendly couple HollywoodLife’s “eyewitnesses” did see on Friday.
Maybe a website with half a clue can even identify them properly!

David Schwimmer is a dad!
The actor-director’s wife Zoe Buckman gave birth to a baby girl named Cleo on May 8.
It is the couple’s first child.
They announced the pregnancy last December. At the time, a rep told Gossip Cop they “couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Schwimmer and Buckman, a photographer, married quietly in June 2010 after meeting in 2007.
