Justin Bieber’s backstage behavior while playing Jason McCann on “CSI” has earned mixed reviews from at least one of his co-stars.
In a French radio interview, Marg Helgenberger offered some candid thoughts on the “Baby” singer’s time as a guest star on the drama series.
“I shouldn’t be saying this, but he was kind of a brat,” Helgenberger said of Bieber, quickly adding, “He was very nice to me.”
“But he locked one of the producers in a closet,” recalled the actress.
Bieber’s mischief didn’t end there – he also “put his fist through a cake that was on the cast’s table,” she said.
Helgenberger did have praise for Bieber’s talent.
“He’d never acted before. He’s better than you’d think.”

Mel Gibson’s The Beaver, which also stars and was directed by Jodie Foster, got a lot of publicity — thanks (unintentionally) to Gibson’s taped rants — but the movie still tanked at the box office.
The film opened with a limited release in 22 theaters in the country’s biggest markets, and only earned $104,000.
To put that in perspective, that’s an average of $4,745 per screen, though the studio had hoped for close to four times that amount per screen.
While the film did far better in L.A. and in New York, it totally bombed in places like  Boston, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
The film opens nationwide on May 20.

A few days ago we reported that Justin Bieber’s stage crew refused to go to Japan for two concerts scheduled later this month over fears of radiation from the recent nuclear disaster.
The crew argued it was unsafe to visit the country for the May 17 and May 19 shows, noting that Avril Lavigne and Slash have already cancelled their Japan concerts.
We heard Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun told the crew that the singer didn’t want to disappoint the kids who had bought tickets, and noted that the Japanese government said it was safe in both Osaka and Tokyo.
While some crew members are still bailing, Bieber is sticking to his concert commitments.
He tweeted, “5 shows left of this leg of the #myworldtour! Manila, Hong Kong, Taipei, Osaka and Tokyo! Like I said…we are going to JAPAN! #supportjapan.”

It’s Mother’s Day, and last night on “Saturday Night Live,” Stefon (Bill Hader) — Weekend Update’s “City Correspondent” — offered Seth Meyers and viewers a range of outrageous ideas for how to celebrate this special day with mom.
Among his Mother’s Day attractions were a club run by Baloney Danza, a “pile of expired Lunchables,” and flying “Human Kites” in Central Park.

Paula Abdul is teaming up again with fun frenemy Simon Cowell to be the fourth judge on “The X Factor.”
The singer/dancer finally signed her deal late last night, just hours before the singing competition began taping in Los Angeles today.
Abdul said, “I am excited beyond words to be a part of ‘The X Factor.’ I couldn’t be happier to bring my love for cultivating talent and performance to such a wildly anticipated show.”
Added Cowell, “This show would never have been the same without Paula, and I can’t believe I am saying this – I have missed her a lot, and I am thrilled she’s on the show.â€
Abdul joins Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Antonio “L.A.” Reid at the judges’ table for the highly anticipated show, which is set to debut in September on Fox.
“The X Factor” will be hosted by former Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger and British TV personality Steve Jones.

Thor hammered the competition in its opening weekend to earn $66 million and the #1 spot.
The Chris Hemsworth–Natalie Portman comic book adaptation more than doubled the box office take of last week’s champ, Fast Five, which sped to second place with $32.5 million in ticket sales.
Grabbing third place place was Jumping the Broom, which made $13.7 million and edged out Something Borrowed with $13.2 million.
Rio came in fifth place with $9.6 million.
Round out the Top Ten were Water for Elephants ($5.8 million), Madea’s Big Happy Family ($4 million), Prom ($2.5 million), Hoodwinked Too! ($2.3 million), and Soul Surfer ($2 million).

“Selena Gomez, Look Out: Abigail Breslin Is After Justin Bieber!” exclaims a headline from HollywoodLife, which seems to devote part of its days to manufacturing fake feuds and phony pregnancies.
According to the site’s latest fabrication, at the Tribeca Film Festival “Abigail Breslin gushed over her crush Justin Bieber.”
HollywoodLife then quotes Breslin as saying, “He was very nice. It was very brief. He was like, ‘Hi nice to meet you, I’m Justin.’â€
Uh, where’s the gushing over her crush?
And what about her super brief introduction to the singer should cause Gomez to “look out” — or shows “Breslin is after Justin Bieber”?
Still, the BSers at HollywoodLife report Gomez “has some fierce competition” from Breslin, and even ask, “Should Selena be worried?”
Actually, the only ones “worried” are us at Gossip Cop, since HollywoodLife keeps us so busy, we’re developing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Just yesterday, Gossip Cop bestowed the “Stupidest Story of the Week” award to HollywoodLife for speculating that Kate Gosselin and the already attached and much younger “Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder might hook-up this weekend, simply because they’re both in the state of Kentucky.

Manny Pacquiao was reportedly just in a minor car accident, only hours before his much-hyped fight against Shane Mosley.
The car carrying Pacquiao collided with one of his security vehicles after the champion boxer left church in Las Vegas, according to TMZ.
Reportedly, the boxer was shaken up but not seriously injured.

Demi Lovato took to Twitter today to thank fans for their support as she struggles with an eating disorder – and to fire back at cyber bullies.
“I wish there wasn’t so much pressure on society to be thin,” wrote the former “Sonny with a Chance” star. “It makes recovery so much harder. #stayingstrong.”
She added, “My heart goes out to any and all women who deal with this daily battle.”
Lovato retweeted words of support and empathy from fans dealing with similar issues, but it appears not everyone had nice things to say.
“I can’t stand it when people make fun of the diseases so many people struggle from. Not something to joke about,” wrote the singer-actress.
“Also.. One more thing.. ALONG with making fun of illnesses or diseases, doing it over the internet only makes you more of a coward,” continued Lovato. “Not to mention now you’ve performed the act of cyber-bullying. Something that is equally wrong and unacceptable.”
Within moments, StayStrongDemiLovato was a worldwide trending topic on Twitter.
