Shooting at the “The Dark Knight Risesâ€: Celebs React on Twitter
July 21st, 2012 — Divorce
A horrific attack by a lone gunman at a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora, Colorado has left 12 people dead and wounded 38 others.

As events of the shooting spree unfolded in real-time on Twitter, tweets from among those inside the Aurora theater went viral.

On Instagram, Chris Rapoza uploaded a series of images of himself and the gunshot wound he sustained. His FaceBook update reads: I’ve been inspected by a number of paramedics and they’ve given me the okay to get to the hospital for stitches on my own. just wanted to get it out there now so that everyone knows i’m okay.
Hollywood celebs weighed in on the tragedy, expressing their shock and grief over the dozens of victims including a 4 month-old baby who was injured.

An aspiring Colorado sports reporter Jessica Ghawi was among those gunned down. Her final tweet- “Movie doesn’t start for 20 minutes” – was almost a chilling countdown to what was about to take over.

Following the Aurora shooting, Warner Bros. cancelled the premiere of The Dark Night Rises in Paris and pulled the film’s cast from all scheduled press cons and media interviews.

The shooter 24-year-old, James Holmes, was arrested in the Aurora theater parking lot. According to Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, “[Holmes] clearly looks like a deranged individual. He has his hair painted red. He said he was the Joker, obviously the enemy of Batman.”

Obama’s Old Apartment Is For Rent!
July 21st, 2012 — On the Tiles
Sweet mercy!!
Obama‘s old Upper West Side apartment if for rent!
It’s only like, $ 2,400 a month and you can sit in your living room and just know that you’re living in history — the history of a broke college student that became POTUS!
The rent has jumped $ 500 since it was last put up for rent two years ago, but it’s “fully renovated with lots of charm,” so obis, it’s worth it.
Plus you could go around tapping all the baseboards and maybe you’ll find Obama’s stash he used to smoke with ol’ Barack Obonga!
Sounds like an easy choice to us, guys!
LOLz!
Russell Brand Hits The Shops After Yoga
July 21st, 2012 — Gossip

Committed Yogi Russell Brand was spotted hitting the shops in Hollywood after a yoga session on Friday afternoon. The British comedian looked both comfortable and relaxed as he was dressed in comfortable work-out clothes with his hair tied in a tight bun on top of his head (very chic, I must add!).
Russell recently said some rather kind words about his ex-wife Katy Perry, which has made me definitely respect him more. Sure, he could have walked away with $ 20 million from his divorce to her, but if you ask me, it speaks volumes of what kind of man he is that he isn’t. Kudos to Russell for staying classy. You’re not a bad guy after all.

Should Warner Bros. Cancel All The Dark Knight Rises Screenings For Fear Of A Shooter Copycat?
July 21st, 2012 — Divorce
As the dust starts to settle after last night’s shocking and horrific shooting, reports have come in that Warner Bros. executives are considering whether they should cancel screenings of The Dark Knight Rises across the country. Immediately following John Holmes‘ attack on a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, the studio yanked the cast out of the public eye and cancelled today’s Paris premiere. Ostensibly they must be worried about copycats showing up at other screenings.
TheWrap reports that Warner Bros. will make their decision sometime later today. As of now, all we’ve heard from the studio is their immediate response to the tragedy: “Warner Bros. and the filmmakers are deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time.”
My first impulse was to support the idea of taking this weekend off from what was going to be the first wave of The Dark Knight Rises fervor, fans having waited excitedly for months to see Christopher Nolan‘s final Batman film. After all, as Moveline points out, many people simply won’t be in the mood to do something as frivolous as see a movie. However, it’s just as likely that people will yearn for that escapism in the face of such a scary incident. Furthermore, you can’t blame the movie for influencing Holmes in his rampage; ironically, Batman is decidedly anti-guns.
Although Holmes’ motives haven’t yet been determined, it seems pretty clear that he acted alone. He wasn’t part of a terrorist organization; this deranged plan was all in his head. I’d like to think that it was an isolated, albeit horrific, incident, and that Holmes is alone in his strange vendetta against or sick fascination with Batman fans. Police in New York City as well as other cities have promised increased security at movie theaters should Warner Bros. go ahead with screening the film. I think this is the best response: Let people choose whether to go to the theater so soon.

Mariah Carey Reportedly Finalizing American Idol Deal
July 21st, 2012 — Divorce
(GettyImages.com)
Mariah Carey is reportedly closing in on a deal to become an “American Idol” judge.
The singer’s name has been floated in recent days as a possible addition to the show, which saw the departures of both Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler from the judges’ table last week.
Now Deadline reports that Carey is “finalizing” a deal with “Idol” that could pay her approximately $ 17 million next season.
At the moment, no contract is signed and no announcement has been made.
On July 13, Gossip Cop reported that Carey was in talks to join “American Idol,” and it appears those negotiations have moved forward.
Former “Idol” contestant Adam Lambert has also been discussed as a possible new judge.
Meanwhile, the only judge left from the show’s first season — Randy Jackson — has not officially confirmed that he’ll be on the panel when “Idol” returns next January.
Stay tuned.
