Zendaya is slamming Giuliana Rancic for making “ignorant” and “outrageously offensive” racial “slurs” on Monday’s “Fashion Police.” It all started when the E! show’s co-hosts were discussing the young star’s decision to wear dreadlocks on the Oscars’ red carpet. Rancic began by complimenting the actress by saying, “I love Zendaya’s style.” Then, as footage played of Zendaya at the Academy Awards, Rancic expressed that because she has “such a tiny frame,” her long hair “overwhelms her,” before joking that she probably “smells like patchouli oil or weed” (video below).

In response, Zendaya posted a long message on Twitter in which she wrote, “There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe… because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect.” She added, “To say that an 18 year old woman with locs must smell of patchouly oil or ‘weed’ is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive. I don’t usually feel the need to respond to negative things but certain remarks cannot go unchecked.”

The actress went on to list family members and noted individuals, such as Selma director Ava DuVernay and various professors with Harvard and Yale degrees, who have dreadlocks. She noted that “none of [those people] smell of marijuana.” Zendaya pointed out, “There is already harsh criticism of African-American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair.” She then explained, “My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough. To me locks are a symbol of strength and beauty, almost like a lion’s mane.”

A truly apologetic Rancic did not waste any time before saying she was sorry. She immediately tweeted, “Dear @Zendaya, I’m sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Bruce Jenner Being Cut Off From Kardashian Family
Welp, it’s begun. With Kris and Bruch Jenner’s divorce virtually completed and Bruce moving on to womanhood, according to TMZ, new clips from the upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians have Kris & crew painting Bruce as an uninterested, absentee father — far more wrapped up in his own personal issues than anything going on with his family.
In fact, it seems the Kardashians are cutting off Bruce’s entire side of the family. As sources close to the show’s production told TMZ, one of the women can be heard on-camera stating

This is getting heated.

On Saturday, Bobbi Kristina‘s partner Nick Gordon made a public plea on Twitter, asking the Browns and Houstons to let him see BK.

Well, Bobby Brown‘s legal counsel made a statement, explaining that they’ve been telling Nick he may be able to see Bobbi if he complies with certain things they’re asking. The problem is that Nick has no guarantee that even if he complies he’ll see get to see Bobbi.

In light of that, Nick’s lawyer released a statement saying:

“Bobby Brown has consistently prohibited Nick, who Bobbi Kristina would want by her side, from being there. Per his own words, Mr. Brown has only ‘offered an opportunity to potentially meet with Bobbi Kristina’ if Nick were to meet certain conditions, conditions that we, his attorneys, have advised him not to meet, particularly in light of Mr. Brown’s inability to guarantee access. But in an effort to do all he can to visit, Nick has repeatedly offered to meet with Mr. Brown privately to discuss his request in person, rather than through lawyers. Those offers have also been rejected. We hope Mr. Brown has a change of heart.”

It’s understandable that Nick wouldn’t want to jump through hoops to see Bobbi, but why not try everything possible?

We’ll have to continue to see how this plays out…
