Perez Hilton is launching a so-called “Kardashian Kleanse” on Monday, pledging to go the full work-week without posting a single story about the Kardashians and Jenners. Gossip Cop believes this is both hypocritical and self-serving.

In his announcement, Perez asked, “Do U ever feel like there’s just TOO MUCH Kardashian news out there?????” He went on to vow that between August 17 and 21, “You can come here for all of the juiciest entertainment news without having to be bombarded by Kim Kardashian, Caitlyn Jenner, and everyone in between.” And, in an effort to wring every last bit of traffic out of the family, Perez created a photo gallery for readers to click through to see every single person the Kardashian-Jenner ban applies to.

Perez’s logic (see video below) seems to be that if there’s less coverage of the Kardashians, even just for a little while, everyone will be “healthier” and better off from the “detox.” There’s no denying the Kardashian empire is a beast. But Perez helped create that monster. He’s spent years profiting off the family, and made a living off them through thousands of posts.

Not to mention much of what Perez has written about the Kardashians has been patently untrue. For instance, in 2012, Perez falsely claimed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were headed for a “public split.” Last year, he wrongly said Kourtney Kardashian was expecting a baby girl. And even way back in 2009, Perez bizarrely and erroneously said Brody Jenner skipped Khloe Kardashian‘s wedding because of a supposed feud with… Joe Francis?! Gossip Cop has repeatedly pointed out such lies, and it’s why Perez has had us blocked on Twitter for years.

Perez’s ban extends to the most peripheral of Kardashian-related figures, such as Kim’s ex Reggie Bush and Caitlyn’s transgender friend Candis Cayne (see full list below). While surely neither of them are clamoring for Perez coverage, to effectively punish and penalize them‎ for being loosely associated with the family is absurd. And Perez even notes that, in place of Kardashians stories, his site will be “highlighting DAILY inspiring stories about amazing women from all around the world,” as if these two things are mutually exclusive and can’t be done together all the time.

Let’s be clear: This isn’t about Gossip Cop being Kardashian cheerleaders. It’s about calling out Perez on his bullsh*t. He isn’t tr‎ying to make a statement about the Kardashians. He’s trying to garner attention for himself (and admittedly, we’re giving him some). He’s created a publicity stunt, the very things the Kardashians are accused of.

‎Here’s what the real pledge should be: Readers, cleanse yourself of Perez. Many of us here at Gossip Cop are reformed gossip addicts. One even used to keep Perez open on her browser and refreshed all day to never miss a post. But just cut the cord for a week. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to go without him.

Because the real truth is, Perez needs readers. And he needs the Kardashians a lot more than they need him.

Most girls want bigger boobs, but Ariel Winter isn’t one of them.

On an interview with Glamour.com, the 17-year-old TV star shared that she isn’t exactly fond of the public buzz about her breasts.

Winter spills, “That’s pretty much all I was known for and that upset me. It made me feel really uncomfortable, because as women in the industry, we are totally over-sexualized and treated like objects.”

Ariel deliberated about the decision back and forth, but the clincher came when she was trying on swimsuits.

“I can’t go to a party with my friends and wear the same thing as them. I have to be completely covered up otherwise I’ll look a certain way that I’m not intending to look,” she shares.

Hope she now feels better with her choice!

Margaret Cho is finally making the next step to end her marriage.

The comedian announced last year that she and husband Al Ridenour were breaking up, but now she’s working to make it official. On Wednesday, the 46-year-old filed legal papers to separate from him.

She announced their split in December, but according to the documents they had been separated since September! Wow!

The two had been married for over ten years. However, in the past Margaret has opened up that she and her soon-to-be-ex were in an open marriage.

We’re sad to lose yet another celeb couple, but we hope this decision is the best for them both.

While the actual city limits of Atlanta may only house approximately 450,000 inhabitants, the surrounding metropolitan area is home to a whopping 5.5 million people. That makes it the ninth largest metropolitan area in the country and affords Georgia’s capital city a number of valuable resources and economic opportunities.

Atlanta is taking advantage of this steady population growth and has become the unofficial celebrity capital of the south – especially in the African American community. “It seems like everything is happening here now,” says Dave Hollister, an R&B singer who frequents Atlanta. “It feels like New York used to feel with a little more nicety.”

Celebs with ATL Affiliations

Hollister’ sentiments seem to be the common belief, and it’s that fast-paced culture merged with southern hospitality that seems to attract the rich and famous. Here are just a few celebrities who were either raised in Atlanta or now call it home:

Outkast. This southern rap duo met at an Atlanta performing arts high school and have made the city a big part of their musical journey ever since.

T.I. and Tiny. This hip-hop couple isn’t shy about their love for Atlanta. These Georgia natives aren’t just from Atlanta, but they also live in the enviable neighborhood of Buckhead.

Usher. He may have spent his early years in Texas and Tennessee, but his mother moved him to Atlanta as a high school student and he’s called the area home ever since.

Jermaine Dupri. Perhaps no hip-hop artist is more synonymous with Atlanta than Jermaine Dupri. He even wrote the unofficial theme song of the city, “Welcome to Atlanta.”

Other famous Atlantans include the likes of Gladys Knight, Little Richard, Julius Erving, Charles Barkley, and dozens of other professional athletes and music stars.

Where They Spend Their Time

But it’s not just those that call Atlanta home that add to the hype of the city. It’s becoming an increasingly popular weekend destination for celebrities and athletes. And when they come to town, they frequent some of the following places:

Chops. This Buckhead restaurant is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors. Not only is the steak amazing, but the atmosphere is chic and accommodating. And with no paparazzi in the streets of Buckhead, celebs like Josh Duhamel and Fergie are free to wine and dine without much bother.

Straits. It’s well known that Ludacris owns Straits, a trendy Midtown restaurant that offers Singaporean cuisine and good drinks. Not only is he frequently spotted ordering selections from his own menu with friends, but he also attracts fellow artists on a regular basis.

The Buckhead Diner. In case you aren’t noticing the trend, one of Atlanta’s most attractive features is the food – and the upscale Buckhead Diner is no exception. With a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and great food, this restaurant has been a hangout over the years for celebs like Steve Martin, Mick Jagger, and others.

Where They Live and Stay

Looking to do a little celebrity watching from your car? You’ll see some notable residences and maybe even a celeb or two walking their pets through the streets of Buckhead, Druid Hills, or Ansley Park. Go a little further north to the suburbs and areas like Dunwoody, Marietta, and Alpharetta are popular retreats.

Atlanta is definitely on the rise – though it’s always been notable – and it’s the rich and famous that are pushing it towards the top. In the words of Jermaine Dupri, “Welcome to Atlanta, where the players play.”

“America’s Got Talent” revealed the first semifinalists for season 10 on Wednesday, the first live results show of the year.

As Gossip Cop reported, 12 acts took the stage at Radio City Music Hall for the first time on Tuesday. Stuttering comedian Drew Lynch, ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, and singer Samantha Johnson were among the standouts, all receiving standing ovations. But only seven acts could continue on to the eventual next round, with five getting eliminated.

First, five acts automatically made it into the semifinals for receiving the most votes: magician Piff The Magic Dragon, singer-guitarist Benton Blount, visual dance artists Siro-A, Zerdin, and Lynch. Johnson, 13-year-old singer Alondra Santos, and child hip-hop duo The Gentlemen were all in jeopardy, though.

Continuing last year’s format, online voting opened for viewers to instantly save one of them. Howard Stern called it “criminal” and “insane” that Johnson was at risk of being eliminated, and gushed about the contestant when it was revealed she had won the redemption. That left Santos and The Gentlemen in the running for the one last semifinalist slot, and it was up to the judges to make the final decision.

Heidi Klum was the first to vote for Santos, followed by Mel B. Howie Mandel, however, picked The Gentleman, leaving it up to Stern. And he picked… Santos! In addition to The Gentlemen, among those eliminated were singing trio Triple Threat, who Mel B said “butchered” Destiny’s Child on Tuesday, despite being so loved during their first audition. Next week, another 12 acts will take the stage as the 2015 quarterfinals continue. TELL US: What do you think of tonight’s results?

At roughly $ 80 per square foot, it’s slightly more expensive than granite and falls just under marble at $ 85.

Refrigerated drawers. Are you tired of having to rearrange everything in the refrigerator just to pull out an apple or grab a drink? Well, the celebrity answer to this conundrum is to invest in more chilled storage space. That’s where the trend for refrigerated drawers came from. “They look just like a regular drawer in your kitchen that you pull out,” says John Robinson, a luxury homebuilder in New Hampshire. He claims every luxury home he’s built in the last year has had refrigerated drawers in the kitchen.

Antique and vintage. While modern has been the go-to style for years, some celebs are reverting back to a simpler time. We’ll call it “vintage with a twist,” and Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi’s home in the Santa Monica Mountains is the perfect example. With industrial light fixtures, an antique bluestone table, classic American Windsor chairs, a Danish lounge chair, and a hearth with convenient firewood storage, this kitchen is unique and luxurious. Stainless steel appliances finish off the look, giving modern comforts to what is an otherwise traditional room.

Built-in refrigerators. Whereas refrigerators were once eyesores in the kitchen, they’re now focal points. Many luxury homeowners are installing custom refrigerators complete with unique features like humidity-controlled vegetable drawers, temperatures zones, and even computers. In order to blend in, celebs like chef Giada de Laurentiis are matching the finish to the surrounding cabinetry. It’s certainly a classy way to incorporate such a large appliance into the room.

Who doesn’t love Sam Smith?!

On Tuesday, the Grammy winner took to Instagram to highlight some of the homophobia he has to deal with as an out and proud celebrity.

But instead of just putting his trolls on blast, he did something even better!

The British cutie shared the image with his 4.5 million followers not only to call out the particular troll, but also to show that there is still a lot of ignorance out there in the world. Whomp, whomp.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the Lay Me Down singer’s first time dealing with the offensive slur. In fact, the 23-year-old revealed back in March that he dealt with bullies in his past, especially as his fellow peers used to call him “f*ggot.” Whoa.

Nonetheless, Sam also relayed how he overcame the torment in his youth.

He shared:

“I came out at the end of year seven when I was 11. That shut a lot of the bullies up. I also made friends with some really nice girls and was singing. I’d like to think I was a nice person and people respected me at my school.”

Aww!

The talented musician even shared that he was once the victim of a homophobic assault when he first moved to London. How sad.

Regardless, it seems everything is now on the up-and-up for Sam and it appears that the performer is looking to use his recent fame to be a role model for the gay community.

Kristen Stewart revealed on Tuesday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that her method of hiding out from the paparazzi is to simply smile. Watch the funny video below!

“You get a lot of grief from people that you don’t go out of your way to smile,” Fallon pointed out during Stewart’s interview on the show. The actress sarcastically replied, “What? No!” as she’s clearly heard this criticism before. “I think you’re a very smiley person,” Fallon said in Stewart’s defense.

The talk show host then took out the latest issue of Marie Claire, which features Stewart on the cover with a stoic expression, prompting her to explain, “They told me to do that. That’s like a model-y, magazine thing.” Stewart added, “I blame Marie Claire for ruining my reputation.” But Fallon once again supported her scowling ways, saying, “I like this about you because it’s mysterious.”

Fallon next asked Stewart if she ever goes around “extra smiley” just to “freak people out.” The actress revealed that she actually smiles as a way to hide out in public. “I went out yesterday and wanted to be able to take a walk around New York without being followed by paparazzi,” said Stewart, adding, “so I went out and was just like ‘ha ha ha ha!’”.

The plan, however, didn’t quite work. Stewart related, “The next day it totally ruined my chances because they said, ‘Ooh we made so much money on those smiling photos,’ and now there’s like 50 [paparazzi] outside.”
