Fifty Shades Freed enjoyed a very satisfying climax at the box office this weekend with the biggest opener of 2018 so far — totaling $ 38.8 million to come in at #1 in the North American box office, far ahead of competition from other new releases Peter Rabbit and The 15:17 to Paris!!

Congrats to the Fifty Shades cast, crew, and production team!

It’s not just the biggest 2018 opener to date, or the number one movie in America right now, but Fifty Shades also took home $ 98.1 million worldwide from 57 total markets, and knocked down first place finishes in 54 of those 57 markets.

Whoa!!

If you’re curious about the breakdown, the Germans REALLY loved Fifty Shades ($ 10.8 million), followed by the United Kingdom/Ireland, France, and Italy rounding out the top five biggest draws, all behind the United States and North America.

Looking big picture, all three Fifty Shades movies have thus far combined to take in about $ 430 million worldwide so far… and only cost a combined $ 150 million to produce (before marketing). Not a bad profit margin, eh?!

Other new releases just couldn’t match Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan‘s work this weekend.

Peter Rabbit opened to tepid reviews from film critics and took in a middling $ 25 million across the U.S. this week.

And Clint Eastwood‘s terrorism movie The 15:17 to Paris got HORRIBLE reviews by critics, taking in just $ 12.6 million on the weekend. Oops!

Not a great day for Jeremy Sylvers, the man best known as the kid actor who played Tyler in Child’s Play 3!

Now 34 years old, Sylvers has been a problem adult for his poor mother, as he was arrested on Friday for allegedly stealing her car after she wouldn’t drive him somewhere that he wanted to go.

Sounds… controversial?!

Worse yet, it wasn’t just that he stole her car — according to law enforcement sources speaking to TMZ, Sylvers apparently got into a physical confrontation with his mom about the car, knocked her down, took her car keys, and then drove off in her 2002 Honda CRV.

Yikes!!!

He was arrested on Saturday back at the home when cops showed up to follow up on their investigation.

Now, he’s in jail, booked on a felony charge of grand theft auto.

Drake is not “trying to win back” Jennifer Lopez amid a “cheating scandal” involving Alex Rodriguez, despite a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the claims. Simply, two sister tabloids have teamed up and are spreading falsehoods.

“Could Alex Rodriguez’s potential loss be Drake’s gain?” asks Life & Style on its website. The gossip magazine alleges, “Now that A-Rod cheated on J.Lo, the rapper wants another chance with the star.” But Rodriguez has not “cheated” on Lopez. Gossip Cop busted that untrue allegation a few days ago when it was first peddled in the print publication. The outlet claimed Rodriguez was still in touch with a former flame and Lopez considered that to fall under “cheating.”

The contentions, however, had no merit to them, we excluively learned through a source close to the singer. In fact, Lopez and Rodriguez just happily celebrated their one-year anniversary a week ago. But the false cheating premise is being used to set up this new angle involving Drake. Quoting from In Touch, a so-called “source” claims Drake has been “telling pals” that losing Lopez was “his biggest mistake and that she’s ‘the one that got away.’” Notably, the tabloids don’t go as far as claiming they’re getting back together.

It’s alleged, “Though he has reached out to tell her so, she isn’t up for a rekindled romance, despite her current heartache.” That’s a convenient explanation. Basically, the magazines seem to have knowingly put out a bogus claim (Drake wants Lopez back) and built-in a cover for why it won’t happen (Lopez isn’t “interested”). And to make it more sensational, this is being tied to the tale about Rodriguez’s “cheating.” All in all, it’s a completely phony love triangle.

In fact, when Gossip Cop investigated the possibility of Drake wanting to pursue Lopez again, we were exclusively told, “Of course this is untrue.” He is not going after someone who is very much taken and in a serious relationship. That said, it might’ve been the rapper’s own actions that inspired the outlets to concoct this storyline. Last month, Drake released a new song, “Diplomatic Immunity,” it which he raps about his fling with Lopez.

The lyrics go, “2010 was when I lost my halo/2017 I lost a J.Lo/A Rotterdam trip had me on front page though.” In addition to the explicit reference to Lopez, there’s been speculation in the song’s Genius annotations that the “A Rotterdam trip” is not just a nod to Drake’s time in Rotterdam last year, but also a disguised way of saying, “A-Rod a damn trip.” Regardless, though, the bottom line remains the same: Drake is not trying to get Lopez back, she did not reject him, and Rodriguez did not cheat on her.

Ok, wait, literally THREE DAYS AGO the Spice Girls were all reunited and everybody was ready to go on tour again in a wonderful reunion…

And now, it’s over. Again.

And it’s all on Victoria Beckham.

This isn’t the first time we’ve learned that the Girls’ long-discussed reunion tour was supposedly going to become a real thing, and it’s also not the first time that Victoria has flat out turned down the reunion after earlier indicating it might happen.

But this time seems especially… sudden???

Just days after meeting with the other four Spice Girls and really making everyone get all excited about the reunion, Victoria nixed all of it with this simple little statement on Saturday (below):

“I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour.”

Wow.

Victoria dropped that little statement to Vogue UK on Saturday while overlooking a preview of her autumn/winter 2018 collection, which is set to show in New York tomorrow morning.

She continued, too, discussing the Girls’ role in pop culture and as a group of role models for women, before reminding everyone that fashion is what she does now (below):

“It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely. There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for. What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming. But this is what I do.”

Ugh!!!!!!!

Liam Payne and Cheryl did not “secretly split,” nor are they “on a time out,” despite a bogus new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the breakup rumors. We’re told the two are still very much together.

According to the Australian tabloid NW, Payne and Cheryl have been living mostly separate lives since welcoming their baby boy Bear last March. An alleged “source” tells the magazine that the One Direction singer spends most of his time on the road, leaving his girlfriend at home to care for their son.

The questionable source goes on to speculate that Cheryl is also jealous of Payne getting close to Rita Ora, who he recently collaborated with on the song “For You,” which is featured on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack. The two pretended to kiss while performing their duet on “The Tonight Show” last month, but of course, it was all theatrics to promote the sexy new movie.

The outlet’s supposed insider further contends that Cheryl has been losing weight as a result of her supposed relationship problems, adding, “She’s been putting herself under intense pressure.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Payne, who exclusively assures us that the tabloid’s article is simply “not true.” The singer and his girlfriend haven’t split, nor have they been growing apart since their baby was born.

Although it’s true that Payne’s music career requires him to travel, he’s regularly in contact with his girlfriend whenever he’s out of town. We’re further told that Cheryl isn’t bothered by Payne’s working relationship with Ora, and she’s not having any type of eating issues either. The new parents are very happy together, and all claims otherwise are baseless.

Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has had to correct several inaccurate stories surrounding Payne and Cheryl’s relationship. We recently busted a tabloid story claiming that the One Direction star was begging his girlfriend to move from the U.K. to Los Angeles.

Shortly after Cheryl gave birth last year, Gossip Cop debunked a bogus story about the couple fighting over baby names. The gossip media clearly has very little insight into Payne and Cheryl’s love life, and NW’s bogus article about a nonexistent breakup is another example.

Are Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman getting back together? That’s what one of the tabloids is claiming. Gossip Cop looked into the claim and we can now bust the story.

Barrymore and Kopelman’s divorce was finalized in 2016, a split she once said was her “worst nightmare.” But now according to OK!, her “most perfect daydream is coming true.” The gossip magazine alleges the former spouses aren’t merely “giving their love another go,” but actually planning to walk down the aisle again. “Word is they’re getting remarried and they’re super excited,” a so-called “friend” is quoted as saying.

It’s worth noting, however, that “word is” is one of those telltale phrases tabloids use to distance itself from an allegation. If this was a real “friend” of Barrymore and Kopelman’s, they would know for sure what’s going on and not just what the “word is,” which is basically just hearsay. Furthermore, a legitimate “friend” wouldn’t be talking about the pair to the gossip media at all.

But this purported pal goes on to contend, “They don’t want anything fancy, just to repeat their original vows in front of a judge and begin a new life together.” The outlet further claims, “After the quiet City Hall ceremony, the parents of daughters Olive and Frankie plan to jet to Ireland for a cozy honeymoon.” Yet no date for the alleged nuptials is given.

The publication points out that Barrymore and Kopelman have been successfully raising their kids together since their breakup, with the actress “posting selfies of the pair coparenting on Mother’s Day and on their Christmas vacation in Idaho.” That, claims the tabloid, is where the “romantic spark was rekindled.” But while it’s true Barrymore and Kopelman celebrated Christmas together with their kids, the time they spend together shouldn’t be misconstrued as a marital reconciliation at this point.

In fact, on Friday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Barrymore revealed she and her ex are both on the dating app Raya. Of course, if they were back together and remarrying, there’d be no need for either of them to use such a service. And during the interview, she gave no suggestion of a romantic reunion, referring to Kopelman as “my children’s father.”

It was also clear at the start of the segment that the star is currently single, as she and the talk show host joked about a false tabloid story that claimed Barrymore was begging DeGeneres to find her a girlfriend. Suffice it to say, if and when her relationship status actually changes, it won’t be gossip magazines breaking the news.

Jennifer Lopez flipped out after not being seated in the VIP section at a Los Angeles restaurant, according to a tabloid report. While it’s alleged she was “served a big dish of diss,” this is actually an instance bad dish. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the bogus story.

According to Star, Lopez “enjoyed a little whine with dinner after a dumb waiter failed to seat her in the VIP section of Hollywood’s trendy Tower Bar,” which is located at the famed Sunset Tower Hotel. The gossip magazine claims the superstar “sauntered in sans the fancy frocks usually favored by famished guests, instead wearing workout gear for a business dinner, and was aghast when they stuck her with the peasants on the patio.” A so-called “spy” is quoted as saying, “The patio at Tower is not the place for anyone who’s anyone to be seen.”

Consequently, alleges the outlet, “Jen and her two male companions looked uncomfortable,” and so “she ordered them to demand a proper table.” The supposed source contends, “After something of a commotion, Jen was suddenly ushered indoors to a properly prominent seat.” Notably, the purported “commotion” isn’t described. More tellingly, no date is given for this alleged incident.

But here’s the biggest red flag of all: Tower Bar doesn’t even have a VIP section, the reservations manager confirms to Gossip Cop. That busts the entire premise of the publication’s tall tale. It makes little sense to claim Lopez wasn’t seated in the VIP section and threw a fit until she was moved there when such a section doesn’t even exist at the establishment. A Lopez contact also maintains these allegations are “not true.” And as photos of Lopez show, she has no problem spending time on the venue’s patio.

It’s worth remembering Star has a rather horrible track record when it comes to accurately reporting on the songstress. Most recently, just two weeks ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely speculating Lopez was in the hospital. It was a rather serious claim to get wrong. Shortly before that, there was a made-up story about the performer having a “miracle” baby with Alex Rodriguez at the age of 48.

That manufactured narrative came after the magazine spent the fall spreading untrue claims about the couple having relationship problems. It seems the only problems lie with the outlet itself, and given the volume of false articles the publication prints about her, Gossip Cop wouldn’t blame Lopez if she flipped out about that.
