5 Wrong Rumors About Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus Rumors

(Getty Images)

Miley Cyrus is one of the biggest pop stars in the world, which means she’s also one of the biggest tabloid targets. Gossip Cop frequently debunks false stories about the singer. Here are five wrong rumors.

In August, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for falsely claiming that Liam Hemsworth had dumped Cyrus over her “wild ways.” The magazine alleged that the singer was partying nonstop and her fiancé had called off their engagement as a result. Not only has time proven the story untrue, but around the same time it was published, Hemsworth posted a Twitter photo of himself on a walk with Cyrus and their dog, along with the caption, “Strolls with my girls.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

When Cyrus deleted her Instagram photos in July, Star wrongly reported that she did so because she was “embarrassed” by her partying past. The story didn’t make much sense, considering that the singer kept her Twitter history perfectly intact. The real reason that Cyrus deleted her Instagram photos, as noted by “Entertainment Tonight,” is that she’s “working on new music and plans to come back with a brand new Instagram, with photos to promote her new music.”

In March, Gossip Cop called out Life & Style for making up a story about Cyrus helping Justing Bieber and Selena Gomez find a house. The outlet claimed the singer was advising the pair about the best oceanfront “love nests” in Malibu. Not only did we debunk the bogus premise when it first emerged, but Bieber and Gomez broke up just a few weeks later.

Gossip Cop corrected NW in January after the tabloid claimed that Cyrus and Hemsworth secretly got married during their New Year’s trip to Australia. The outlet didn’t provide a single detail about the couple’s supposed ceremony, so we were quite skeptical of the claim. Our doubts were confirmed after checking in with a source close to the situation, who assured us the two hadn’t tied the knot. In fact, shortly before the report was published, Cyrus had said she didn’t “envision marriage” anytime soon.

And finally, Gossip Cop called out HollywoodLife last November for baselessly speculating that Cyrus showed off a “baby bump” in an Instagram photo she posted to celebrate Thanksgiving. Cyrus herself dismissed the pregnancy rumors on Twitter, writing, “RUDE!!! Not pregnant just eating a [expletive] ton of tufurkey.” As time has shown, the singer never had a child and still isn’t expecting nearly one year later.

Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble Relationship Came To An End?

Kris Jenner Corey Gamble

(Getty Images)

Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble’s relationship didn’t come to an end, despite a report from exactly one year ago today that asserted they were “calling it quits.” Gossip Cop said the claim was untrue then, and it remains false to this day. A full year later, Gamble and Jenner are still together.

According to an In Touch article on October 23, 2017, Jenner and Gamble were splitting up. To add credence to its narrative the tabloid quoted a supposed “source” who swore up and down 12 months ago that Jenner was “done” with her and Gamble’s romance, which was reportedly marked by “trouble” and them “fighting nonstop.” The magazine’s same untraceable tipster maintained Jenner’s kids also felt the family matriarch should “lose Corey and move on.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

As Gossip Cop noted 365 days ago, the outlet glaringly neglected to offer examples about what they fought over or proof that Jenner was “done” with Gamble. The tabloid simply made blanket statements, but had nothing to back up its claims. More significantly, its assertion that Jenner was “calling it quits” and the romance was coming to an end never happened.

Actually, during the intervening year since the magazine published its original article, Gamble was at by Jenner’s side at the Met Gala and could often been seen with the momager at charity and fashion events around the world. Over the summer, Jenner and Gamble even took a romantic Mediterranean vacation together in the South of France. Far from being “done,” they were and remain very much together. In fact, just a few days ago, Jenner and Gamble went on a double date with Babyface and his wife Nicole to Nobu Malibu.

In direct contrast to the tabloid’s premise, there recently were rumors about Jenner and Gamble being engaged when she appeared on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” while wearing a large ring. But Gamble and Jenner are not walking down the aisle anytime soon. And while they’ve been together since 2014, a month ago Jenner revealed that getting married again isn’t something she needs to do, having already been divorced twice.

Gossip Cop sometimes looks back at stories to show our readers there’s a big difference between what the tabloids report and what’s actually accurate. It generally becomes abundantly clear over time whether an article’s claims were true or false. In this case, we said In Touch was 100 percent wrong a year ago when it contended Jenner and Gamble were splitting up, and once again we’ve been proven right.

5 Wrong Jennifer Aniston Feud Rumors

Jennifer Aniston Feud Rumors

(Getty Images)

The tabloids have thrown Jennifer Aniston into a lot of nonexistent feuds with other celebrities. Gossip Cop frequently debunks this made-up drama. Here are five wrong rumors about the actress’s fake feuds.

Just last week, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for alleging that Aniston was at war with Julia Roberts over who’s upcoming TV show would be a bigger hit. The premise made little sense. Aniston hasn’t even started shooting her series yet, which will debut on Apple TV sometime next year, while Roberts’ show debuts on Amazon next month. The two projects aren’t in competition with each other. Still, we checked in with Aniston’s rep, who told us on the record that the article was completely fabricated. In fact, Aniston and Roberts posed together at a charity benefit earlier this year.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

In August, Gossip Cop corrected OK! after the magazine claimed that Aniston and Angelina Jolie were feuding over becoming Netflix’s “golden girl.” Jolie directed a film for the streaming service, while Aniston is attached to star in two movies for the content provider, which inspired the tabloid to concoct a fake conflict. However, both actresses also have plenty of projects lined up outside of Netflix. The outlet decided to create a phony rivalry just because both women happened to have worked for the streaming giant.

Gossip Cop also called out NW in August for falsely claiming that Aniston was refusing to do a “Friends” reunion because she was feuding with the show’s creator, Marta Kauffman, and didn’t want to work with her again. The premise seemed unlikely considering that Kaufmann has made it clear she’d “never” do a “Friends” reunion. Regardless, a spokesperson qualified to speak on Aniston’s behalf assured us the story was “absolutely false,” adding, “Jen is a huge fan of Marta and has kept in touch over the years.”

In May, Gossip Cop busted New Idea for wrongly reporting that Portia de Rossi warned Aniston to stay away from Ellen DeGeneres. The magazine claimed de Rossi was jealous of their close friendship and believed the actress was a “bad influence” on her wife. The alleged alteration was said to have taken place while the women were out to dinner in Los Angeles, but the outlet failed to mention that the dinner took place following the launch party for de Rossi’s art company, General Public. Aniston attended the launch party to support de Rossi, and dined with the actress and her wife following the event.

And last year, Gossip Cop debunked an OK! story about Aniston and Reese Witherspoon fighting over getting equal pay for their upcoming Apple TV series. Reps for both actresses, however, dismissed the report. In reality, Aniston and Witherspoon are both executive producing the show, in addition to co-starring, and each is receiving the exact same salary. The project was put together through their mutual talent agency CAA.

Story About How Blake Shelton Loves When Gwen Stefani “Plays Dress Up” Is Made-Up

Gwen Stefani Blake Shelton Halloween

(Getty Images)

A new report about how Blake Shelton loves when Gwen Stefani “plays dress up” is made-up. Gossip Cop can expose how a site manufactured this claim, all based on photos of Stefani and Shelton wearing costumes for a Halloween party. Additionally, we’ve been told no one in the country singer’s camp is leaking stories to blogs.

Once again, HollywoodLife has taken an actual event and used it as the basis for a completely concocted premise. After noting how the couple “celebrated Halloween early,” with the No Doubt singer dressed as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Shelton in a sailor’s costume, the aptly nicknamed HollywoodLies maintains it has exclusively learned the country singer loves Stefani “dressing up.” To pretend its seemingly made-up story is legitimate, the often discredited blog quotes an unnamed and probably fabricated “source” as saying, “Gwen loves to dress up and Blake loves when she does… it definitely adds some extra spice to their relationship.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

Of course, if this were true, the outlet would furnish other examples of when Stefani dressed up to Shelton’s delight. But it doesn’t. And that’s because the narrative is phony and entirely crafted around new, widely published photos of them in costume.

Now for a little dressing down: HollywoodLife makes up fake stories about Stefani and Shelton a lot. Just a few days ago, Gossip Cop caught the blog in a lie when it falsely contended Shelton was pushing Stefani to make a joint album. Much like this latest article, the site alleged it had a reliable, albeit anonymous, “source.” But Stefani’s own rep went on to record to tell Gossip Cop that website’s report was untrue.

Shortly before that whopper, the habitually disproven site asserted Shelton and Stefani had plans to do a reality TV show together. Once again, a rep told Gossip Cop the site was telling tall tales. It’s also the very same outlet, based on yet another one of its untraceable and seemingly phony sources, that swore up and down Shelton and Stefani were going to have a “summer wedding.” Clearly, the summer wedding never happened.

Not enough proof that HollywoodLies has no insight into the two singers’ lives and that it just manufacture bogus articles as it goes along? OK, back in May the website asserted Stefani was pregnant with Shelton’s baby. The only fertile then and now is the imaginations of the creative writers at that site.

While numerous other outlets simply reported how Stefani and Shelton dressed up for a Halloween party, HollywoodLies took it another step to claim the country singer loves when his girlfriend gets dolled up in costume because it adds “spice” to their romance. And while it made that contention, it didn’t offer one other instance of that to back up its premise. Basically, the site can “dress up” its falsehoods in a variety of different way, but they’re still untrue.

Sean ‘Diddy Combs’ Upset That Kanye West Is Changing Name To Ye?

Sean Diddy Combs Kanye West

(Getty Images)

Is Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs upset that Kanye West is changing his name to Ye? That’s the claim in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

Combs has changed his name several times over his career, first going by Puff Daddy, then P. Diddy and now just Diddy. Last month, West announced on Twitter that he was changing his name to Ye, writing, “The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.” According to the National Enquirer, Combs believes the fellow rapper is stealing his thunder by switching up his moniker.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Most people can’t tell you what Puff does for a living, but everyone knows his name and he’s annoyed that Kanye is copying him. Diddy thinks he should be called Kanye Copycat.” Combs, of course, is a rapper and record producer. Most people could probably tell you that, despite the tabloid’s bizarre statement.

This premise is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable “source,” but Gossip Cop checked in with Combs’ rep, who tells us on the record that it’s “fiction.” Despite what an untraceable and seemingly nonexistent “insider” claims, a spokesperson qualified to speak on the rapper’s behalf assures us the story is untrue.

It’s worth noting, Combs is outspoken and isn’t afraid to air his grievances with his peers, including West. Just last week, Combs slammed West for meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House. The rapper, however, never said a word about West changing his name to Ye. That’s because he has no issue with it.

Unfortunately, Gossip Cop isn’t surprised by the Enquirer’s bogus report. This isn’t the first time we’ve had to call out the magazine for making up an absurd story about West. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming that West was having his own Oval Office built inside his home. That didn’t happen. The report was seemingly manufactured because of the rapper’s admiration for Trump.

Meanwhile, Gossip Cop has also had to debunk stories about West being competitive with other rappers. Last year, we busted HollywoodLife for wrongly reporting that West was furious he didn’t make Forbes’ list of the five richest rappers. Interestingly enough, the person who topped the list in 2017 was Combs. Of course, the list was based on financial statistics and not the magazine’s opinion, so the storyline made zero sense. This latest one involving West’s name change is similarly false.

Ben Affleck Was Going To Cast Shauna Sexton In Movie?

Ben Affleck Shauna Sexton

(Getty Images)

Ben Affleck was not going to cast Shauna Sexton in his upcoming movie Torrance, despite a tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim. We’re told it’s completely untrue.

According to Star, Affleck is “still seeing Playboy Playmate and was actually this close to asking producers of his next movie to find the bombshell a part.” The article then relates how Torrance is about “an alcoholic who loses his wife because of his drinking,” before a so-called “backstage tattle” alleges, “Ben had second thoughts about casting Shauna.” Affleck’s ex, Jennifer Garner, “would have hit the roof” had she been put in the film, adds the tabloid’s unnamed and untraceable source.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The report, however, is riddled with errors. For starters, Affleck and Sexton split up not long after he left rehab, so he’s not “still seeing” her. Additionally, Affleck wouldn’t exactly have to ask producers to cast Sexton, since he himself is one of the producers of Torrance. And lastly, Affleck never ever contemplated casting his brief fling in the film. As far as Gossip Cop can tell, Sexton has never been in a movie before.

Glaringly, while the magazine offers a brief description of the film’s plot, it has no insight whatsoever into the role Affleck supposedly was thinking for Sexton. And the reason for that is because it’s all made-up. A mutual friend of Gossip Cop and Affleck assures us the claim is not true and “foolish.”

To say Star isn’t exactly a reliable source of information about the actor would be an understatement. Three months ago, the magazine published a cover story that maintained Garner and his ex-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus were both pregnant with Affleck’s babies. At the time, Gossip Cop shot down the phony claim, and it’s abundantly clear now we were 100 percent right, while the tabloid was woefully wrong.

It’s also important to note the magazine is a sister publication of RadarOnline and the National Enquirer, and sometimes shares the same staff and stories. While Star maintains the actor is “still seeing” the Playboy Playmate, just a week and a half ago, RadarOnline alleged Matt Damon convinced Affleck to dump Sexton. And just a couple of weeks before that, the Enquirer swore up and down that Affleck was marrying Sexton in rehab.

None of the aforementioned stories were true and neither is the latest article about Affleck. The actor-producer never thought about casting Sexton in Torrance.

Katy Perry Having “Meltdown” Because Of “Flirty” Orlando Bloom?

Katy Perry Orlando Bloom

(Getty Images)

Katy Perry is not having a “meltdown” because Orlando Bloom was photographed acting “flirty” with women on a Malibu beach, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this falsehood. The singer’s relationship with the actor is solid, and more importantly Bloom wasn’t acting inappropriate in any manner.

According to the latest issue of Globe, Perry is feeling “tortured” because her on-again boyfriend was “caught canoodling” a “beach bunny.” The supermarket tabloid alleges the singer even “flipped out” and “suffered a secret meltdown” after seeing photos of Bloom getting “flirty with beach babes” in Malibu. A so-called “insider” is quoted as telling the magazine, “Orlando may have been playing a game of cornhole with his buddies, but he was clearly checking out the hotties between tosses.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

“Katy believed what she and Orlando had was special, but this must have thrown her for a loop,” continues the supposed source in language that tips off he or she isn’t actually an “insider.” Then, after rehashing how Perry recently announced she’s taking a break from music for her own “spiritual and emotional side” and “mental health,” the tabloid speculates that Bloom’s “latest antics could send Katy off the deep end.” “Katy’s taking it as a betrayal, and she’s devastated,” adds the ill-informed or seemingly made-up tipster.

Clearly, the singer doesn’t feel betrayed or “devastated” by the benign photos in which he wasn’t actually “flirty,” because on Thursday Bloom was by Perry’s side when she was honored in Los Angeles by amfAR. Even though they walked the gala’s red carpet separately, inside the event Perry posed for several photos with Bloom, who she praised as her “anchor” in an interview about two weeks ago. Additionally, the far more reputable magazine People recently reported that Bloom may be close to proposing to Perry after the two rekindled their romance earlier this year.

It also bears mentioning the innocuous beach pictures weren’t used to portray the Lord Of The Rings star being unfaithful to Perry anywhere else other than by the Globe. In the photos from the beach that day, the actor can be seen hanging out with a few pals and giving an innocent peck on the cheek to a female friend, who was playing in the sand with his son and even took several pictures of Bloom and Flynn having fun. While certain magazines and websites often publish wrong rumors about Perry and Bloom, Gossip Cop spends a lot of time investigating reports, and the latest tale about the singer having a “meltdown” over her boyfriend acting “flirty” with “beach babes” is simply tabloid fiction.

Eva Longoria NOT Already “Trying For Second Baby,” Despite Claim

Eva Longoria Second Baby

(Getty Images)

A new report claiming Eva Longoria is already trying for a second baby is inaccurate. Gossip Cop can correct the story. We’re told the new mom and her husband Jose Baston are perfectly happy right now with their 4-month-old son Santiago, and tabloid tales about them working on another child are “not true.”

According to OK! and its sister publication Closer, Longoria still has “babies on the brain” after the birth of her son on June 19. Just four months later, assert the publications, she’s thinking about having a second baby. An unnamed source claims that at 43-years-old, the actress “figures why wait?… She’d like to give Santiago a sibling who will be close in age.” “She can’t stop talking about babies,” adds an alleged “insider,” who notes that Longoria and her husband “both would love one more.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

A couple of months ago, while promoting her film Dog Days ago on the TV shoe “Extra,” Longoria talked about loving motherhood and how “delicious” her son is. But when the show’s correspondent Mark Wright asked if she was going to have more children, the actress seemed to express that she was more than content with just with her son. Longoria told Wright, “I don’t want to tempt fate… I just want to enjoy every moment.”

Of course, it’s possible Longoria may want more kids, but Gossip Cop is told, contrary to the tabloid reports, that it’s “not true” she’s “already trying for a second baby.” A mutual friend of ours and the actress says she’s perfectly happy with Santiago and her energies are focused on him.

Gossip Cop is not completely shocked the report is untrue. However, it’s interesting the story is coming from OK! In its latest tale about Longoria wanting to quickly have a second baby, the tabloid takes a cheap swipe at her, noting that because she would like to another child, it may explain “why she’s in no hurry to lose her pregnancy weight.”

The last time we busted that tabloid for an article about her, the magazine falsely asserted Longoria was turning to Victoria Beckham to be her trainer and nutritionist to lose weight. The tabloid doesn’t reconcile how it previously claimed Beckham was whipping Longoria back into shape through Pilates and indoor cycling, and yet now she’s in “no hurry to lose her pregnancy weight.” Simply, the publication’s Longoria sources are unreliable and should stop weighing in about her when they clearly have no clue.

Britney Spears Wanted Out Of Residency?

Britney Spears Residency

(Getty Images)

One year ago today, a website claimed Britney Spears couldn’t wait until her Las Vegas residency was over because she was “done with Sin City.” At the time, Gossip Cop blasted the story for being inaccurate, and it’s clear 12 months later how particularly bad that blog’s report was. On Thursday, Spears announced she’s doing yet another residency in, that’s right, Las Vegas.

On October 20, 2017, RadarOnline swore up and down how Spears “can’t wait” to finish her Las Vegas residency. The often disproven outlet maintained the singer had no interest in performing anytime soon afterwards and was going to perhaps have another baby. At the time, one of the blog’s ill-informed (or possibly fabricated) sources asserted that with a few “shows left until she is finished with her long-running ‘Piece of Me’ residency in Las Vegas… she can’t wait’ to be done with Sin City.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

In fact, the site’s alleged insider declared her post-residency plans were to “not work.” The “source,” who the website hinged its entire article on, maintained, “She isn’t even thinking of… another tour.” All she was focused on, contented the tipster, was having a “baby girl.”

Actually, a few months after the performer wrapped up her residency in Las Vegas, Spears took her “Piece of Me” show on tour throughout North America and Europe. So basically, the site was pretty much wrong about everything it claimed about Spears, including her looking forward to the end of her residency, being “done” with Las Vegas, and not wanting to go on tour. Frankly, the only thing RadarOnline got right was the spelling of Spears’ name.

Exactly 365 days ago, Gossip Cop checked in with one of our impeccable Spears sources, and we were told in no uncertain terms that the website was simply duping its readers with “more made up stories.” The outlet’s exclusive about Spears was wrong then and it’s even more wrong now. As we noted above, on Thursday Spears announced her upcoming “Britney: Domination” residency at the Park MGM in Las Vegas, beginning in February.

In the intervening year since its untrue tale about Spears and her Las Vegas residency, the website hasn’t gotten much better with its reporting about the pop star. Just one week ago, for example, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for wrongly contending Spears was ditching her diet and workouts.

The blog said not only wasn’t Spears staying in shape, but she was also loading up on junk food. Of course, the performer looks fantastic, and just a few days ago Spears posted video on Instagram of her exercising with weights. Maybe RadarOnline should be “done” with its unreliable Spears sources.

Bradley Cooper Wants Irina Shayk To Give Up Modeling?

Bradley Cooper Irina Shayk Model Career

(Getty Images)

A tabloid report claiming Bradley Cooper wants Irina Shayk to give up modeling is completely false. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus premise. It’s simply not true.

A headline in the latest issue of Star reads, “A Model Is Born! Shayk Won’t Shake Off Work.” According to the magazine’s so-called “insider,” “Bradley suggested Irina cut down on her sexier photo gigs,” but his girlfriend snapped back, “This is my job. I don’t tell you how to act and direct.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1526939461036-0’); });

The outlet never bothers to mention why Cooper supposedly wants his girlfriend to stop working. It’s always a red flag when a tabloid’s story lacks any type of detail. There’s also no reason to believe that the actor isn’t supportive of Shayk’s career, or that he would try to stand in the way of his girlfriend making a living.

Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Cooper, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that there’s no truth to the magazine’s article. Meanwhile, if the outlet is trying to suggest there are problems between the actor and his girlfriend, that’s certainly not the case. The happy couple has been spotted several times this week taking strolls with their 18-month-old daughter in New York City. A photo from one of Cooper and Shayk’s outings shows the pair laughing as she wraps her arm around him.

It’s worth noting, this isn’t the first time Star has made up a bogus story about work coming between the couple. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming that Cooper was putting more focus on his movie A Star Is Born than he was on his family. The tabloid alleged that Shayk was upset because the actor was more interested in making his movie than taking care of their baby daughter.

In reality, the actor was able to balance work and family while directing and acting in A Star Is Born. In fact, Cooper said in a recent NPR interview that having a child has had a positive impact on his career and his approach to work. The actor also said in the interview, “The thing I want my daughter to have — I just always want her to feel loved.” Those aren’t the words of a man who’s more concerned with his career than his child. This latest article about Cooper telling Shayk to give up modeling is similarly untrue.
