Angelina Jolie is not dragging out her divorce from Brad Pitt so she can have a “hold over” the actor for as long as possible, despite yet another fake news story from a webloid that repeatedly publishes lies about the estranged spouses. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.

HollywoodLife, which either has made-up sources or just very unreliable ones, alleges in a new report that the actress is struggling to get over her breakup from Pitt and wants to maintain some control over his life. The outlet’s supposed “insider” says Jolie “wants to know exactly what Brad is up to at all times” and even keeps tabs on him with a Google alert.

The site’s questionable source further purports that Jolie plans to “drag out the divorce for as long as possible,” because the actress knows once the divorce is finalized, she’ll no longer “be in control.” The “insider” goes on to call the supposed situation “pretty sad,” before further contending, “I suspect that she was actually shocked he didn’t try and fight more for her.”

Of course, Gossip Cop has exhaustively called out HollywoodLife for publishing bogus reports about the former couple, so we were hesitant to believe this latest article. Our doubts were confirmed after checking in with a trustworthy source close to Jolie. Gossip Cop is exclusively assured that the actress isn’t stalling the divorce process for fear of losing control of her estranged husband, and the claim otherwise is absurd.

This latest article is yet another example of how HollywoodLies, as it’s known, baselessly pretends to know the estranged spouses’ motives and inner thoughts.
