ABC aired a special episode of “The Bachelorette” on Sunday, with Andi Dorfman and her 16 remaining suitors heading to Santa Barbara.
There was a Boyz II Men concert, old people disguises (see photo right), and some heartbreaking news.
It all started with Nick V., who got the First Impression rose on the premiere, getting a 1-on-1 date.
Dorfman opted for a “normal, chill day,” with the pair biking, checking out the beach, and hiking.
Back at the hotel, the rest of guys labeled Nick a “skeptic,” and questioned whether he “really believed in the process.”
The software sales executive — who admitted to being engaged before — was open with Dorfman, however, about being nervous and worried, and the reality star thought that was “cute.”
Feeling a “connection” with Nick, Dorfman happily gave him the date rose, and the two shared several passionate kisses.

On the group date, the guys were surprised by Boyz II Men, and found out they would have to perform the band’s hit “I’ll Make Love to You” in public.
The rehearsals naturally provided a lot of laughs, and the concert crowd ate up the performance, regardless of how badly they butchered the romantic ode.
Dorfman, too, couldn’t help but laugh as the men serenaded her on stage, with flirtatious moves and all.
The assistant district attorney called it one of the “best days of my life,” and later had private time with some of the guys during the evening party.
She spent time with Eric, who tragically died in an April accident after completing filming, and he wondered if she finds the show’s set-up as “weird” as he does.
Dorfman went on to have her first kiss with Marcus, and gave the date rose to Josh M. after their own makeout session.

The second one-on-one date was with JJ, who was shocked to find out he would literally be “growing old” with the brunette.
The duo underwent a massive makeover, made up to look as they might on their 50th wedding anniversary.
They set out to fool unsuspecting people, and managed to pull off the silly charade (until they started playing football!), but Dorfman said the experiment actually made her think “seriously” about spending her life with JJ.
Meanwhile, at the hotel, Ron received truly heartbreaking news — a close friend passed away, and he would be leaving the competition.
The contestants were shocked when he broke the news and immediately headed out with his luggage.
Dorfman was none the wiser, and went on to the night portion of her date with JJ, back as their normal youthful selves.
The “quirky” pantsapreneur admitted that he worries about finding someone who will accept his uniqueness, but the Bachelorette said that’s what drew her to him.
They capped the date with a rose, and sealed it with a kiss.

When Dorfman ultimately found out about Ron, she told the guys that it “put things in perspective” for her.
“This is real for us, and this is real for me,” she said. ”We have lives outside of this, and it makes me that much more appreciative that you guys are taking time out of your life to be here.”
At the cocktail party, the lawyer was in the middle of more private time with Eric when they were interrupted by a flower delivery — from Nick, gushing about the date they had.
Dorfman was really touched by the gesture, blissfully unaware of drama brewing when JJ and Josh confronted Andrew for allegedly picking up a girl’s number earlier in the week and even bragging about it.
He initially just stormed away and hid from the cameras, but then returned to defensively give his side of the story.
Tempers flared, and Andrew said afterward, “I was ready to throw down… But I’m not going to stoop to their level.”
At the rose ceremony, Dorfman still had to eliminate two men — and decided to send home Bradley and Brett.
Both men were understandably disappointed.
“It’s not easy, but I gotta go with my gut. And my gut looks like it was right,” the Bachelorette told the 13 guys left.
But previews show Dorfman’s journey turns tearful and dramatic on Monday.
