ROD Stewart, married to Panny Lancaster,  has been talking about his sex life:

“I’ve still got plenty of lead in the old pencil. but I only write to one person.”

Looking beyond the obvious links to rubbers, French letters and, in the case of lead, abdominal pain, vomiting, constipation, foot and wrist drop and anaemia, we wonder if Rod’s pencil needs a sharpener evey now and again and if it’s still a HB?

After giving birth to their first daughter together, a family friend has revealed that the couple are recommitting themselves to each other, though Katie appears to still have a lot of forgiving to do.

James Alexander Gordon and the poetry of the pools

BBC announcer James Alexander Gordon, whose voice was synonymous with the football results, has died at the age of 78.

Although he started reading the results in 1973, in the heyday of flares and platform boots, he seemed to personify an earlier short-back-and-sides era, when the ‘wireless’ was still the main conduit for live football. A time when teams played at the same time – 3pm on a Saturday – allowing for a comprehensive results service at 5 O’Clock, heralded by Sports Report’s stirring theme tune, ‘Out of the Blue’ played by the Central RAF band (and here by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra)…

These were not any old results, like those garbled and sometimes unreliable missives that sprang from the manic teleprinter…

No, these were the CLASSIFIED football results, and their significance – aside from the footballing issues resting upon them – was that the football pools relied upon them.

The pools were the national lottery of their day, able to change people’s lives at a stroke. Dreams could come true, but so could nightmares, as in the case of Viv ‘Spend, Spend, Spend’ Nicholson…

Up and down the land, people would sit glued to the radio, in a quasi-religious shared national experience (in the days before people spoke in such terms), checking their pools coupons to see if they had predicted the requisite results to hit the jackpot. Gordon said he remembered complaints that results could be difficult to follow, and he is credited with innovating a form of inflection that indicated the outcome of the game, and made it easier to follow while studying a piece of paper full of tiny boxes.

But even those not interested in gambling – or football itself, for that matter – couldn’t fail to feel some affection for the litany of names, which ranged from the legendary to the most obscure creatures lurking in the depths of the lower English and Scottish leagues. Its soothing effect is rivaled only by the poetry of the shipping forecast.

And here Mark E Smith tries his hand at it. Radio announcing’s loss was music’s gain, although listening to the auld curmudgeon’s idiosyncratic efforts, some of us live in hope that he will return to this fertile field in the not-too-distant future…

Oh, this IS getting nasty. Although Nick Cannon supposedly has an NDA that prevents him from talking about his split from Mariah Carey, “someone close to him” is telling TMZ that Nick left Mariah. He also claims to be concerned about Mariah’s “emotional state.” How childish is this? RELATED: Mariah Carey is said to be unhappy about Nick Cannon talking about their split.

“Sources” tell TMZ:

Nick has made it clear to all involved … he’s deeply concerned about Mariah’s emotional state and is ending the marriage for the well being of their kids. He believes the environment around Mariah is toxic and fears for his kids.

We’re told Nick believes his kids have already shown signs of emotional upset living with Mariah.

Our sources say Nick’s MO is simple … he wants to create an environment separate from Mariah that gives the kids a safe haven from the “chaos” at her home…

And finally we’re told Nick is taking a “passive” role in the divorce … telling his lawyers to take the path of least resistance to end things as peacefully as possible.

So is Nick going to give up the DJ gigs and the traveling so the kids can be with him? And how peaceful is a split supposed to be when “people close to you” start saying stuff like this? I hope Nick and Mariah’s split doesn’t turn into a nasty custody battle. Something tells me Nick has no interest in being a full-time Dad, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors? This sounds like an effort to “save face,” but the whole “I dumped you first” bit is so immature. Seriously.

KATE MOSS’S has had a champagne glass modelled on her left breast. Quaffers at Mayfair’s 34 can purse their lips to the rim of one of British artist Jane McAdam Freud’s cups.

This honour was once extended to another sparkling white woman, the fabled Marie Antoinette.

Moss is delighted:

“I was excited to participate in this project, what an honour to be alongside Marie Antoinette – she was a very intriguing and mischievous character. Champagne is always associated with celebration and happy occasions and I had fun creating this beautiful coupe.”

It makes us wonder if all glasses were at some point modelled on primary sexual characteristics.

Was the Flute fashioned from Napoleon’s romancer? Was the Tulip modelled on the bosom on Louis XVI’s wet nurse? Did the ice bucket star out as a glass for women who’d had enough children and wanted to unwind?

The story whitters on until it cites its source for the story as Caughtoffside.com. That’s the reliable news sources that stated Arsenal has signed Sami Khedira in July.

And, then, Giroud’s manager Arsene Wenger told one and all:

Charlotte Hawkins looked bright and cheerful as she left the Good Morning Britain studios, despite her 2.40am wake-up call.

Mariah was left feeling ‘humiliated’ following the interview, which also featured him revealing when he first had sex with his wife.

THIS isn’t quite the conclustion that this research comes to but it is true all the same: half of British teenagers agree that it’s entirely normal to send child porn around over mobile telephones. So, that’s half the age group that needs to be on the sex offenders’ register then, eh?

The actual report is this:

More than seven out of ten teenagers say they have watched X-rated images on line, with many saying it became common when they were 13-15 years old, while almost half (46 per cent) say “ sending sexual or naked photos or videos is part of everyday life for teenagers nowadays.”

Most of these are, quite obviously, entirely consensual selfies that teens are sending to each other. And it is indeed something that’s about this common. The problem is with what we’ve got as the definition of child pornography these days.

Yes, obviously, an image of someone raping a four year old is child pornography and we’d all like to see the perpetrator locked away (at minimum) for many a year. However, that girl of 17 years and 11 months who sends a picture of herself topless to her 18 year old boyfriend, the one she’s been quite legally shagging for near two years now, has committed the offence of creating and distributing child pornography. And the recipient, if he keeps it, is guilty of possession of child pornography.

This doesn’t bode well really, that we’ve managed to criminalise the behaviour of half of the younger generation. In fact it’s absurd but that’s the way they’ve written the law, the damn fools.
