Happy to announce that today we are the proud parents of our second daughter, Frankie Barrymore Kopelman. Olive has a new little sister, and everyone is healthy and happy!”

DAVID Moyes is on his way out of Manchester United. The man who made a complete hash of managing the Premier League Champions is out of Old Trafford.

When back in August, Moyes observed, “I think it’s the hardest start Manchester United have had for 20 years”, we thought it odd for the man managing the country’s biggest club to be complaining about United’s first five fixtures – home to Chelsea, Swansea and Crystal Palace, and away to Liverpool and Manchester City.

He added: “I find it hard to believe that’s the way the balls came out of the bag, that’s for sure. I hope it’s not because Manchester United won the league quite comfortably last year that the fixtures have been made more difficult.”

Moyes had made his point. We’d always thought that every team played every other team home and away over the season, that the season – all in all – is pretty much the same for every club. After the start, October brought an away game at Sunderland and home matches against Southampton, Stoke and Norwich.

Some would say Moyes looked weak and paranoid from the odd. But United fans surely nodded at his sage-like grasp on the conspiracy that would lead to his undoing.

Now it seems the Oscar-winning actress has now taken off her wedding band once again, proving that her ‘unconscious uncoupling’ to her husband Chris after 11 years is even more convoluted than originally thought.

We haven’t seen Gwen Stefani since she welcomed her third child, baby Apollo, in late February. Her time out of the spotlight won’t last for much longer, though. TMZ reports that ‘The Voice’ producers wanted Christina Aguilera to stay on the show during her pregnancy, but apparently she’s already experiencing some complications, so she decided to take the season off (she’d be nearing the end of her  third trimester in the last few weeks of the eighth season). However, she’s said to have already signed the contract to return to ‘The Voice’ for season nine. Gwen, meanwhile, only has a one season contract. I’m excited to see Gwen as a judge! Are you?

“THIS is the first time I have recovered gold from the stomach of a patient,” said C S Ramachandran, a senior surgeon at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi. He has just treated man who had been experiencing stomach aches. The man said he had rowed with his wife, and swallowed a bottle cap. Which is an easy thing to happen, a common occurrence that would raise no suspicions.

Says the surgeon of the 400g of gold he found inside the man: “I remember having taken out a bladder stone weighing 1kg from a patient. But finding gold in a patient’s stomach was something unbelievable.”

And well worth the effort. Who needs a credit card to pay those medical bills when you have gold?

We should note that in Mumbai last year, customs officials searched a Sri Lankan man. They located 700g of gold in his rectum. Not quite a golden egg, but an improvement on the efforts of Paul Moran, 30, who tried to turn his faeces into pure gold by placing them on a heater – an electric one – at his flat in Derrin Park, Enniskillen. The resulting fire was regrettable.

The reason for these cases of gilded innards is that India is a tough place to bring gold into. The Government raised import duties in an effort to control the country’s surging current account deficit. So. Smuggling has boomed.
