Finally pregnant after several in-vitro fertilization attempts, Celine Dion calls her experience “physically and emotionally exhausting,” but says, “I never gave up.”
In an interview with Le Journal de Montreal, Dion recounts endless fertility treatments and stresses of adding to her family with husband Rene Angelil.
Of his wife’s perseverance, Angelil says, “These treatments were truly hard on my wife’s body. It wasn’t simple at all.”
Their patience was rewarded with the emotional discovery that Dion is carrying twins.
“Each week I had sonograms,” recalls the singer. “I heard their heart beats.”
Dion still expects to launch a new Las Vegas show in 2011 but says, “There are no accomplishments bigger than [motherhood.]”
