Is Daniel Craig being kept on a “tight leash” by his wife Rachel Weisz? That’s the premise behind a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop looked into the claim and can exclusively correct it. We’re told it’s untrue.

According to Star, Weisz has a lot of “rules,” and “even James Bond has a woman he answers to.” The magazine contends “married life is smooth sailing” for Craig because the actress has him “on a tight leash when they’re apart.” To back up its tale, the publication alleges it has an “insider” who shares, “Rachel made it expressly clear what she expects… Daniel is under orders to check in with Rachel as soon as he wakes up and the moment before he goes to sleep, without exception.”

The outlet maintains Craig isn’t bothered by Weisz demanding he give her daily updates. In fact, the publication asserts he actually “prefers it.” “Daniel says having a strong woman around has made him a better man,” claims the so-called source, before adding, “She even wears the pants when he’s at home… but that’s a big reason why they work.”

It’s interesting the tabloid says “married life is smooth sailing” for the James Bond star because just a couple of years ago, the very same publication had yet another unnamed “insider” quoted as saying Craig and Weisz’s marriage was in trouble and “in a really bad place.” Of course, that previously debunked article, much like the current one, was based entirely on claims made by an unnamed, untraceable and possibly fictitious source. Conversely, Craig’s own rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop the magazine’s new story is untrue. The movie star is not kept on a “tight leash” by Weisz.

Star has a track record for coming up with bizarre and provably false narratives about the 007 actor. Just a couple of months ago, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for concocting a phony tale about Craig racing all over Beverly Hills to find Weisz a particular acne cream. In addition to Craig working on a movie in Norway at the time the outlet alleged he was running around Beverly Hills looking for zit cream, his spokesperson also assured us then the story was “rubbish.”

And shortly before that, Gossip Cop exposed the outlet for inaccurately insisting Craig’s diet for the next James Bond film was driving Weisz crazy. That time, too, was a fabrication. Perhaps the tabloid would be wrong far less often if it kept its sources and writers on a somewhat tighter leash.
