Leah Remini Meets A Former Scientologist Who Claims The Church Ignored Her Statutory Rape In The Premiere Of Scientology & The Aftermath!

Leah Remini is waging war on the Church of Scientology!

The King of Queens alum’s highly anticipated docuseries, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, debuted on A&E Tuesday night — and boy, it didn’t hold back!

Not only did Jennifer Lopez‘s bestie get candid about her own estrangement with the controversial religion, she also sat down with others who had abandoned the Church of Scientology — leading to the premiere’s most shocking revelations.

And as Leah perfectly put it, their stories were “deeper and darker” than anyone could’ve expected!

Be sure to ch-ch-check out the highlights from the eye-opening docuseries for yourself (below)!

Leah vs. The Church Of Scientology

Miz Remini kicked off her new show the only way she could, by opening up about her own harrowing experiences with the Church.

First, the docuseries shared a statement from the Church claiming Remini was lying about what happened to her in order to further her career. Then, viewers watched flashbacks of Leah promoting the faith throughout her 35 years as a devout member.

Leah explains her stepfather got her family into the religion… only to leave her mother (who was pregnant at the time) for another woman. The family became dependent on the Church in their time of need. And although Leah had become a well-respected and famous member of the faith, she never felt truly respected.

For example, Leah was allegedly humiliated at Tom Cruise‘s wedding when she asked where church leader David Miscavige‘s wife was. This sparked her initial investigation into Scientology’s rumored abuses — which resulted in her and her family being punished.

So what are the Church’s abuses?

First, the members are being scammed as they are expected to purchase church-sanctioned books and services all in the name of self-improvement.

But it only gets worse from there…

Leak Talks To Bonny and Amy

Leah decided to film her conversation with mother-daughter duo Bonny Elliott and Amy Scobee before she had even resolved to make a TV show. She revealed it was Bonny and Amy’s story that inspired her to collect more stories about the Church’s abuses. And we don’t blame her.

Amy, who was once in charge of recruiting celebrity members, revealed she was the victim of statutory rape at the age of 14.

Apparently, Miz Scobee was taken advantage of by one of her bosses (who was also a member of Scientology), and when the man’s wife learned about the incident the couple decided to tell the Church what had happened. Unfortunately, it was Amy who was blamed for the violation and the incident was never reported to her parents or the police.

David Miscavige Allegedly Abuses Members Of The Faith

According to Amy, Miscavige is a “very angry” person who would resort to physical violence if upset. She shared:

“If you said something that didn’t please him he would go off on you. If you were a man he would likely hit you, punch you, knock you down, choke you.”

This obviously caused Scobee to have doubts, which resulted in her being sent to do manual labor at the Rehabilitation Project Force. Amy and her husband escaped the RPF and were labeled “suppressive people”.

Due to her daughter’s departure from Scientology, Bonny was put in danger and was ordered by the higher-ups to sever all ties with her flesh-and-blood. Eventually, Elliot and her husband also left Scientology and the whole family was reunited — a situation which rarely happens!

Sadly, Bonny passed away from cancer two weeks after telling her tale on camera.

Be sure to catch Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath on A&E on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST for more tea on Scientology.
