A new report alleges Matt Lauer was “all over a mystery woman” while watching his daughter compete at a recent horse show, but the entire story is made-up. Gossip Cop can correct this fabrication. We’re told it’s “not true.”
According to the National Enquirer, “notorious womanizer” Lauer was photographed kissing another woman at a “hoity toity” horse show, right under his wife Annette Roque’s nose. In the bogus story, accompanied by a picture of Lauer embracing the woman in question, a supposed “source” is quoted as saying, “Matt had his paws all over the other lady. Annette didn’t appear to notice, but plenty of other people did.” The outlet’s questionable insider goes on to purport, “This is just the latest incident in a long line of inappropriate behavior.”
Gossip Cop, however, looked into this seemingly manufactured report, and it comes as no surprise that the article is a nothing more than a fabrication. Remember, we corrected the supermarket tabloid earlier this year when it falsely alleged in an absurd tale that Lauer’s wife had warned him not to cheat with Megyn Kelly when she started working at NBC. In that story, the outlet branded Lauer as a “love rat” with a bad reputation, but of course, the report was entirely fictional.
Unfortunately, the same goes for the magazine’s most recent concoction. A trustworthy and reputable Lauer insider assures Gossip Cop the report about him being caught with a “mystery woman” in clear view of his wife Annette is simply “not true.” Additionally, if the publication had reliable sources, it would have surely known that the woman photographed with Lauer at the horse show is a good friend of his, and he was merely giving her a friendly kiss on the cheek.
Sadly, the “Today” show anchor seems to be a tabloid target, particularly for the Enquirer. In 2015, Gossip Cop debunked the magazine for wrongly claiming Lauer was having an affair with “Good Morning America” host Lara Spencer. Much like that inaccurate claim, the latest one is equally bogus.
