Nancy Grace has settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the estate of Melinda Duckett, who killed herself after Grace harshly questioned her about her missing son, Trenton.
In 2006, Melinda Duckett appeared on Grace’s show after her then two-year-old son disappeared. Grace took an accusatory tone when Duckett answered questions ambiguously.
Duckett then committed suicide before the show aired.
On Monday, Duckett’s parents announced they were dropping the suit, and their legal team released a statement absolving Grace of “intentional wrongdoing.”
As part of the settlement, the CNN host will establish a $200,000 trust to aid in finding the still-missing child.
Trenton Duckett would be six years old today.
