Taylor Swift: Is She Too Skinny? Leading Doctor Weighs in…

TAYLOR Swift could be entering the danger zone with her weight.

The singer — who is known to flaunt her twig-like legs on trips to and from the gym — is drawing concerned responses from fans.

“Taylor Swift is getting way too skinny,” user@AudreyLucilewrote on April 14.

“I hope you’re not starving yourself to keep your waist skinny,” another fan chimed in, as another urged her to “eat McDonalds, girl!”

According to one leading doctor, the fans have reason to be concerned, RadarOnline reported.

“Taylor still appears to be within her healthy weight range, however she is right on the lower end of the scale now. I wouldn’t want to see her losing anymore weight,” said accredited nutritionist Melanie McGrice.

“The World Health Organization defines anyone with a Body Mass Index of less than 17.5 as ‘too skinny’ as it can lead to increased risk of osteoporosis, nutritional deficiencies, bowel conditions and malnutrition,” she added.

With Swift serving as a role model, registered dietician and nutritionist Dr. Susan Mitchell (who has not treated Swift either) worries that femme fans may resort to extreme measures to be thin like their idol.

“(Fans) want to emulate celebrities and try to look like them even when their body shape is not meant to,” Dr. Mitchell said.

“Society … sends a message that you are not cool unless you look a certain way: very thin. Many young women become so obsessed with their weight and looks that it ultimately leads to disordered eating of some type which can then affect their bodies and health for years to come.”

Meanwhile, Swift’s parents have been accused of becoming “difficult and controlling stage parents”.

Although Taylor’s mother and father have technically separated, they’re apparently assuming total power over the singer’s career.

New York Post gossip column Page Six says Scott and Andrea Swift have edged out numerous senior staff members at their company, 13 Management, as well as agents at CAA and WME.

Back in March, Taylor’s publicist of nearly seven years, Paula Erickson, resigned after giving 60 days’ notice. Taylor’s business managers Flood, Bumstead, McCready & McCarthy also resigned last year. She is currently repped by AEG for touring and IMG.

“Taylor’s parents are incredibly difficult to deal with. Their expectations are enormous, and they are very hard to please. They want to pay as little as possible and treat people like s - - t, because they think those people are lucky to have the chance to work with a superstar like Taylor,” a source said.

“Taylor’s parents think they can do things better, and what makes things complicated is that they no longer live together.

“They are not on the same page and don’t even like to be in the same room. Andrea requests that her husband not be present at meetings. Taylor is incredibly smart and professional, but at some point she’s going to need her parents to stop, before it turns into a total Katherine Heigl ‘momager’ situation.”

Another source adds that the Swifts’ 13 Management has had a revolving door of top staff, managers and department heads. But Taylor has been working with tour manager Robert Allen for years and he is still with her.

Taylor’s parents, who married in 1988, have been living separately but did not divorce “because they don’t want to damage Taylor’s career,” according to Star.
