If you’re hoping to see King Kong scale the Empire State Building and wreak havoc on New York one more time, then we’ve got some pretty bad news for you!
Right now, there’s not a whole lot known about the upcoming 2017 flick, Kong: Skull Island, other than the fact that it’s being made and will feature Michael Keaton, Tom Hiddleston, and J.K. Simmons!
However, that all changed when the Whiplash actor dropped some MAJOR new details on the film on the Golden Globes red carpet! He revealed:
“There’s such an interesting new take on it, and it’s set in Detroit in 1971.”
Whoa! Looks like King Kong got tired of the Big Apple!
We’re a bit confused as to why it would be set in Detroit when the movie is called Kong: SKULL ISLAND! And why is it in the groovy year of 1971??
We guess we’ll just have to wait and find out!
Ch-ch-check out J.K.’s entire interview (below)!
