It’s been a brief (and exhilarating) pageant, but the winner is now crowned: Paulina Vega, Miss Colombia, is our new Miss Universe!
She was followed by Miss USA, Nia Sanchez, in the runner-up position.
When asked in the Q&A portion on her country’s contribution to the world, she answers in Spanish: “I believe that my country has been an example to be followed for the rest of the countries. We are persevering people…and we continue fighting. Today, we are world leaders in many different parts.”
Miss Universe 2013, Venezuela’s Gabriela Isler, passed on the crown to her. On the other runner-up positions are Miss Ukraine (second), Miss Netherlands (third), and Miss Jamaica (fourth).
