Leave it to the tabs to create a little controversy when there is none.

According to the Daily Mail, David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston are “friends no more.”

Why?

The paper claims Schwimmer is upset because when Aniston was asked on “Late Show with David Letterman” who he was marrying, she answered, “don’t know.”

But the reality is news of Schwimmer’s engagement to photographer Zoe Buckman leaked out before he was able to tell friends, like Aniston, so she actually didn’t know about it.

Despite the Daily Mail stating that Schwimmer’s “offended” and “hasn’t been taking [Aniston’s] calls,” a source close to the actor tells Gossip Cop, “He’s not upset.”

Yes, still friends.

How to Train Your Dragon has won the weekend box office.

The animated feature is on track for $43.3 million in its opening three days. It features the voices of Gerard Butler, Jay Baruchel, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, and others.

The film took down Alice in Wonderland, which won each of its first three weekends after release. The Johnny Depp 3D extravaganza slipped to second place with $17.3 million.

Another major opening, Hot Tub Time Machine, brought in $13.7 million to finish at #3, trailed by holdovers The Bounty Hunter and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Kara DioGuardi’s dad, Joe DioGuardi, a former Republican congressman, is slated to announce tomorrow that he will run for the senate seat currently held by Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).

And the “American Idol” judge is 100 percent behind her dad. “He’s my father, and of course I’m supportive of him. He always encouraged me in my dreams.”

DioGuardi added, “We don’t always agree on every issue. But no matter what our differences are, I love him. He has more energy than anyone I know… He is Superman.”

The songwriter, however, won’t be able to campaign for her dad. 

“If I have one more job, I will fall apart,” DioGuardi told the New York Post, also noting, “I live in California now.”

Like “American Idol,” we’ll just have to wait to see how the people vote.

Today Perez Hilton writes, “Not True! Joaquin Phoenix Not Playing Poe!”

What’s interesting about that headline is that Gossip Cop exclusively busted the rumor Joaquin Phoenix was going to play Edgar Allen Poe TWO DAYS AGO, while at the same time Perez initially called Phoenix’s being (reportedly) tapped for the Poe role an “Inspired casting choice.”

Whoops.

Now, Perez has done an about face.

But what’s also interesting is that for today’s reversal, Perez cut and pasted reporting from ContactMusic, which noted Phoenix’s rep “tells GossipCop.com the star will not be appearing in the picture.”

Huh?

So rather than going to the original source (Gossip Cop) to admit he was wrong, Perez links to a third party, which rightfully gave Gossip Cop credit.

We probably shouldn’t expect more from a guy who still blocks us on Twitter.

Jordan aka Katie Price and Alex Reid will marry for a second time this coming summer after finding out their first marriage in Vegas may not be legal since the official wasn’t licensed to marry couples!

The glamor model is “fine about it,” though. “It’s gives me the opportunity to have another wedding in the UK,” she says. “This time we’re going to do it properly. It will be huge.”

They’re hoping to rake in £1 million in a magazine deal for the photos so it sounds like they have their priorities straight.

She just wouldn’t be our Jordan if she wasn’t whoring her life out for cash!
