It’s getting to the point where it would be less time-consuming if we just reported what HollywoodLife gets right, but who wants to look at an empty blog?

In today’s installment, we look at a piece titled, “EXCLUSIVE! Epicly Awkward Encounter Between Exes Jason Lewis & Rosario Dawson!”

The fact-challenged site begins, “Ouch! Exes Jason Lewis and Rosario Dawson had a near run-in of completely epic proportions” when they were at the Independent Spirit Awards.

According to HollywoodLife, “Jason couldn’t leave [an area of the event] fast enough when she arrived with her boyfriend. Jason first tried avoiding her by shifting eye contact, then he literally cut an interviewer off and fled.”

That’s funny, because we were just talking to Lewis, and the “Sex and the City” hunk told us, “That didn’t happen at all.”

In fact, it was practically the opposite. Lewis told Gossip Cop, “We stopped, gave each other a hug and kiss, and spoke” before moving on.

The only thing of “epic proportions” is how wrong HollywoodLife was once again.

Could Jack Bauer be trading a Fox for a Peacock?

According to a report, the studio behind “24″ has approached NBC about picking up the series if Fox decides to cancel it as rumored.

Multiple sources tell EW that NBC is considering the acquisition. One source is quoted as saying, “There’s definitely some interest.”

There has also been talk of “24″ and Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer character being spun off into a movie franchise.

“24″ is currently in its eighth season.

Is Joaquin Phoenix returning to the big screen after his hip-hop hiatus?

According to Slumdog Millionaire sound designer Resul Pookutty he is — to play Edgar Allen Poe.

Um, what?

Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror about an upcoming project, Pookutty says he’s working on an adaptation of “The Beautiful Cigar Girl” by Daniel Stashower.

“It’s based on an eerie real-life experience by author Edgar Allen Poe which happened just months before his death,” Pookutty explains. “Joaquin plays Edgar Allen Poe.”

The story was, naturally, picked up everywhere.

And it’s complete nonsense.

Gossip Cop asked a rep for Phoenix whether the actor was coming back to play Poe.

“No.”

Star magazine seems to be short on stories this week.

And when Star has nothing… it’s time for the tab to throw a dart at a big board of Britney Spears and Jason Trawick rumors!

She’s pregnant! He’s cheating! They’re planning wedding choreography! The wedding’s off!

(Wrong… wrong… wrong… and wrong.)

This time Star’s blindfolded staff spun around, let the dart fly, and it landed on… “Britney & Jason Trouble!”

“It’s getting ugly!” the mag bellows. The two are said to be “feuding constantly, in heated encounters that insiders fear are spiraling out of control!”

According to a Star source, “Jason pushes Britney’s emotional buttons. She’s losing it more often.” For her part, Spears allegedly “orders Jason around a lot” and “exploded” on February 25 when Trawick was not “paying enough attention to her.”

Much of the “warfare” supposedly comes from the pop superstar’s anxieties about staying thin. Another “source” claims Trawick “said she could stand to move around a bit because she was fat,” sending Spears on a “crying jag.”

Here’s what Gossip Cop has heard: Nothing has changed since last week’s silly rumors of relationship unrest.

Spears and Trawick are doing just fine.

Too bad Star again fails to hit the mark.

Before Michael Jackson’s scheduled “This Is It” concerts, the King of Pop had 22 custom-designed pieces of furniture made for the Kent, England home, where he intended to stay. Now the furniture is up for auction.

Among the regal pieces made for the King of Pop were a leopard-print chair with ostrich feather trim (approximately $18,500), two velvet armchairs embroidered with doubled-headed gold eagles (approximately $60,000), a gilded red velvet sofa that seats nine (approximately $150,000), and a gilded wood writing desk with mother of pearl inlay (approximately $120,000).

The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas will have the furniture on display from June 14 – 25 before the pieces are sold on June 25.

Part of the proceeds from the auction will benefit MusiCares, which provides healthcare for struggling musicians, and Joshua’s Heart, which combats world hunger.

The much anticipated Lady GaGa and Beyonce ‘Telephone’ video is finally out and the action packed nine minutes is filled with murder, mayhem, near nudity, jailhouse lesbian action and profanity  — definitely NSFW, but another home-run for the incredibly creative Lady GaGa.
