Peter Jackson may have a hard time finding further workers for his Lord Of the Rings prequel “The Hobbit.” According to Eonline, SAG and AFTRA, two large international unions that represent film works have advised their members to stay away from the project.
SAG released a statement warning union members that they:
“are advised not to accept work on this non-union project.”
“The Alliance agreement for large-budget international studio films…provides for residuals that are equivalent to those under the SAG agreement. The residuals proposed by the producers of The Hobbit are less in every respect.”
The film’s producers have received many letters of complaint from various unions for their failure to sign union contracts.
Lord Of The Rings is being produced by MGM and Warner Bros. and is expected to be released in 2011 once financing and distribution is secured.

Even though Lindsay Lohan is possibly facing jail time, the actress who tweeted more than a week ago, “I am working hard to overcome [addiction] and… am a work in progress,” is now taking her words about “taking responsibility” and turning them into action.
Lohan is expected to check into a rehab facility in the next few days, well in advance of her October 22 probation violation hearing.
As opposed to previous rehab stints, both court ordered and voluntarily entered, this time the decision is coming entirely from Lohan.
Sources tell Gossip Cop that Lohan wants to take control of her life, and no longer have relapses like her last one, which briefly landed her in jail (until she was bailed out).
From everything we can tell, Lohan is truly taking this latest setback seriously.
And in more good news, as Gossip Cop reported, the producers of Inferno – the film based on the life of porn star Linda Lovelace – are willing to hold up production until next year for Lohan.
“We continue to support Lindsay,” producer Chris Henley told Gossip Cop.

“Bones” star Emily Deschanel married writer-actor David Hornsby on Saturday in Los Angeles.
The ceremony was reportedly a small affair in front of family and friends.
Deschanel wore matching hair pins and drop earrings by Neil Lane.
Hornsby writes for and executive produces “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” on which he also appears as Rickety Cricket.
“Bones,” co-starring David Boreanaz, just began its sixth season.

“Saturday Night Live” returned for its 36th season last night, with former cast member Amy Poehler hosting and Katy Perry as the musical guest.
Poehler’s monologue featured a dream sequence studded with luminaries including former “Weekend Update” team Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon, as well as frequent “SNL” contributor Justin Timberlake, who was tasked with kissing Poehler.

The eagerly awaited sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, starring Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, and Carey Mulligan opened in the top spot at the box office in its debut weekend, taking in $19 million.
In second was the animated Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole with $16.3 million, and last weekend’s big winner, The Town, came in third with $16 million in receipts.
Teen comedy Easy A finished in fourth place, with $10.8 million, while newcomer You Again, starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, and Betty White rounded out the top five with $8.3 million.
The other films which made the Top Ten this weekend are Devil ($6.5 million), Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D ($4.9 million), the animated Alpha and Omega ($4.7 million), Takers ($1.6 million), and Inception ($1.2) million.

“Kate Gosselin: Stealing A Married Man?” asks Life & Style on its current cover.
According to the tab, Gosselin is “hell-bent on creating problems between her bodyguard, Steve Neild, and his wife, Gina.”
And she’s tried to accomplish this, claims Life & Style, by such stratagems as “keeping Steve away from home by having him accompany her on a sexy beach getaway, then parading around in front of him in a series of barely there bikinis.”
The “sexy beach getaway” was actually a business trip – a photo shoot Gosselin did in Mexico for a rival mag, and in which the mother of eight showcased her body in a bikini.
Regardless, Life & Style then quotes an unnamed “neighbor of Kate’s” as saying, “Kate’s head over heels in love with Steve.”
Wait, wasn’t this the same magazine that just three months ago inaccurately reported that Gosselin might star as “The Bachelorette” because she wants to nab “herself another show —and a potential husband”?
Nevertheless, the tab quotes its so-called source as saying, “Everyone’s wondering if he’s not interested in her too,” and states as a matter of fact that Neild and his wife are “going through a bit of a rough patch lately.”
Actually, Neild is right now ”in Europe with his wife for two weeks, celebrating their 20th anniversary,” reveals an insider to Gossip Cop.
And a rep for Gosselin tells us that rumors of a relationship between the reality star and her bodyguard are “completely untrue.”
Bottom line: Life & Style’s proof of something brewing between Gosselin and Neild is as bare as the reality star during her photo shoot.

Apparently if you get kicked off Sesame Street you’re still allowed to visit the entire town of Springfield. After it was announced that her Sesame Street appearance was being banned because of her low cut clothing, Katy Perry and Fox TV announced that the pop star would appear on an upcoming episode of the popular cartoon.
Katy will appear in a Christmas special called The Fight Before Christmas which will air on December 5 says Entertainment Weekly.
Perry will be interacting with some puppets and will play Moe’s girlfriend while performing the song The 39 Days of Christmas which she will be accompanied on by various members of the Simpson’s cast.
It should be noted that the singers Simpsons appearance was actually recorded before the announcement of her Sesame Street exile was announced.
Simpson’s Executive Producer Al Jean joked with EW.com:
“In the wake of Elmo’s terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry.â€
