Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of Jersey Shore could have died this past may. According to RadarOnline.com she was rushed to the hospital with a serious case of alcohol poisoning.

According to reports, the wild night of drinking was so out of hand that MTV decided to cut the footage from the show’s second season and that’s saying quite a bit considering the type of partying they’ve aired on various shows, including Jersey Shore in the past.

One Insider said of the incident:

“She was so drunk that she had to be carried out of the nightclub ‘Dream’ by the show’s producers.”

As you may recall, Snooki’s drinking also led to an arrest in July on a disorderly conduct charge for public drunkenness. For her July offense Snooki received two days of community service and paid a $533 fine, while receiving a misdemeanor charge.

As Gossip Cop reported yesterday, Lindsay Lohan is headed to rehab, and reportedly it could be within hours.

The actress, who recently tweeted, “I am working hard to overcome [addiction],” is expected to check into a Los Angeles-area rehab facility later today, and stay there until her October 22 probation violation hearing – and possibly even longer, notes TMZ.

As opposed to Lohan’s previous rehab stints, both court ordered and voluntarily entered, this time the decision is coming entirely from her.

Sources tell Gossip Cop that Lohan wants to take control of her life, and no longer have relapses like her last one, which briefly landed her in jail (until she was bailed out).

From everything we can tell, Lohan is truly taking her latest setback seriously.

An out-of-left-field rumor making the rounds today has Taylor Swift under consideration for a movie called One Night With You, in a role supposedly intended for Lindsay Lohan before her recent legal issues.

According to RadarOnline, the script involves a former child star whose scandal-ravaged career leads her to go on a reality dating show.

Lohan was allegedly rumored for the part, although no one has been able to confirm to Gossip Cop that she was ever involved.

Regardless, the new rumor says that producers might turn to country superstar Swift, who had a role in last winter’s Valentine’s Day.

Gossip Cop spoke to one of the film’s producers, John Edmond Kozma, who claimed there were “conversations” with reps for Swift.

But sources close to the singer-actress tell us her agent has “never even heard of this project.”

Hmm. Sounds like a casting bust Taylor-made for Gossip Cop.

Maggie Grace has been cast as vampire Irina in Breaking Dawn, Gossip Cop has confirmed.

Grace is perhaps best known for her stint on “Lost” and role as Liam Neeson’s imperiled daughter in Taken.

Her “Twilight Saga” character is a member of the Denali coven who blames the Cullen clan for the death of her lover.

The first of the two Breaking Dawn installments will be released in November 2011.

Watch out William Shatner — here comes Ashton Kutcher!

Following the much-hyped premiere of Shatner’s “$#*! My Dad Says,” CBS is reportedly developing another Twitter-inspired sitcom, this one produced by Kutcher, an early and highly visible adopter of the social media platform.

“Shh… Don’t Tell Steve” is based on a covert Twitter feed that chronicles the bumbling, immature actions of the tweeter’s roommate.

“$#*! My Dad Says” was the first television comedy derived from tweets.

Kutcher has nearly 6 million Twitter followers and is among its most active celebrity voices. He’s already had a hand in producing several TV shows.

Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene spent the weekend in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. And while down there, the two were spotted kissing and enjoying each other’s company Saturday night at a place called Ritz Cocktail Lounge.

Since photos emerged of the Twilight star and the hunky singer during their date, there has been a tremendous amount of speculation about the seriousness of their relationship.

According to one report, which was picked up by several other outlets, “Joe has asked Ashley’s family for permission to ask her hand in marriage. That is essentially what the whole trip was for.”

Really?

Nope.

Though it’s accurate to say the couple is quite happy, Greene’s rep confirms to Gossip Cop that talk of marriage is “completely untrue.”

Actor-comedian George Lopez and wife Ann are divorcing, his rep confirms to Gossip Cop.

Says the rep, “George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17 year marriage.  The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement.  They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation.”

Singer and one-time Haitian presidential hopeful Wyclef Jean was hospitalized yesterday for exhaustion, his rep has confirmed.

Jean is “suffering from stress and fatigue based on the grueling eight weeks he’s had,” says the rep, referring to Jean’s failed attempt to get on the ballot to become Haiti’s next president.

It is expected he’ll be released from the hospital sometime this week.

Adds the rep, Jean “plans to take it easy.”
