Gloria Stuart, best known for playing the elder Rose in Titanic, died yesterday. She was 100.
The cause of death remains unclear, though she was diagnosed with lung cancer five years ago.
Stuart first rose to fame in the 1930s, appearing in films such as The Invisible Man, Poor Little Rich Girl, and Here Comes The Navy.
Her work in “Titanic” led to an Oscar nomination, making her the oldest person to ever be nominated. She was 87 when the film hit theaters in 1997.
Her memoir, “I Just Kept Hoping,” was released in 1999. A year later, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She celebrated her 100th birthday on July 4.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today.
Kardashian tweeted this morning, “A year ago today was the day I married the man of my dreams! Happy Anniversary baby! You are my heart… I love you!”
She even wrote on her blog, “I can’t believe it has been a year already, it feels like we just got married yesterday, but at the same time I can’t believe it has ONLY been a year.”
Yes, it’s been a year already… A year since MediaTakeOut announced right before the couple’s nuptials, “Word is… Khloe-Lamar Odom wedding isn’t real at all.â€
Huh?
Instead, according to the site’s “ULTRA-RELIABLE insiders,” it was supposed to be a “switcheroo,” and Kourtney Kardashian and her baby’s father Scott Disick were going to get married.
Yes, MediaFakeOut – as they’re known – really reported that a year ago.
The bad blog further claimed, “The whole Khloe-Lamar thing is just an excuse to get publicity for Kourtney’s wedding. Ain’t that some MESS!!!â€
No, only MTO’s reporting is a mess.
Oddly enough, the site neither wishes Khloe and Lamar nor Kourtney and Scott (hehe) a Happy Anniversary today.
Gossip Cop wishes the Odoms many years of rumor-free health, happiness and love.

(Life & Style)
“Angelina’s Forcing Shiloh’s Boy Obsession,” blares Life & Style in a story that alleges Angelina Jolie has carefully designed daughter Shiloh’s tomboy style.
The mag, citing supposed family insiders, asserts Jolie is “the one pushing Shiloh to wear boys’ clothes,” because the actress wants to further the image of a diversified family.
As for Jolie’s recent comments to the press about her daughter’s evolving style and how it’s been Shiloh’s choice to take on a more boyish look, the mag dismisses it all as a lie.
“It seems Angelina is on a mission to show the world what an individual Shiloh is,” adds one of the so-called insiders. “But using the kids for publicity is sick.”
And, warns the tabloid, “forcing a four-year-old girl to wear boys’ clothes and get a short haircut could be deeply harmful.”
Surely not as harmful as a tabloid hell-bent on using kids for publicity and criticizing families rather than just letting them be.
Still, Gossip Cop investigated the tab’s claim, and we’ve found no reason to doubt Jolie when she says (as she did to Reuters in July), “I think [Shiloh] is fascinating, the choices she is making. And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not. I think that is just bad parenting.”
Seems like Life & Style knows little about style and even less about life.

If your a fan of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic The Sound Of Music you’ll want to tune into The Oprah Winfrey Show on October 29th when the original cast will make a very special appearance.
According to Harpo Productions:
Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer will both appear alongside the stars who played the fictional von Trapp family in the Oscar-winning 1965 movie musical.
Andrews is now 74 years old, while Plummer is 81 and is best remembered for his role as Captain von Trapp.
According to PopCrunch:
The cast is expected to discuss the impact of the film and how their involvement in it shaped their lives. Some of the real von Trapp Children, who travel the world performing the songs made famous by the movie, will also appear and pay tribute to the film on the TV show.
The reunion took 40 years to happen because Plummer felt like he was typecast as an uptight leading man after his role in the musical.
“It is not a film which I detest. The press have always got that wrong. I didn’t hate the movie at all. I just didn’t think my role was terribly exciting,†Plummer told Reuters earlier this year.
I hope they sing “Doe A Deer.”

Wyclef Jean was going 24/7 when he was trying to win the presidency of Haiti and apparent that type of work ethic was enough to put him in the hospital.
According to Billboard Magazine Wyclef was hospitalized today for “stress and fatigue”
Last Tuesday Wyclef officially ended his run at the presidency in Haiti, although his campaign had already been disqualified by the country’s electoral council last month because he didn’t meet residency requirements of five consecutive years of living in the country.
The presidency race according to tipsters wasn’t Wyclef’s only issue, he was also working on a new album and meeting with heads of state at a General Assembly of the United Nations.
His spokeswoman Marian Salzman said of the hospitalization:
“He has already been released and is at home recuperating,†adding. “He will be back to work in about a week, and until then the family requests that he be allowed to genuinely rest.â€

Joe Jonas is going the way of younger brother Nick and releasing a solo album of his own.
The Joe Bro announced his solo aspirations to E! Online on Monday, but has promised he isn’t ditching the Jonas Brothers.
The 21-year-old singer says he wants to show off a new “dangerous sound” with his solo effort that will be released sometime in early 2011. He says he’ll also ditch his trademark suit and tie for a T-Shirt and leather jacket.
Hollywood Records, the label behind The Jonas Brothers have also backed up Joe’s claims that he isn’t leaving his band.
The only question now is can Joe beat out the top-selling success of Nick’s debut solo album “Who I Am” which debuted towards the end of 2009.

Shh. Don’t Tell Steve is a Twitter account with just over 15,000 followers at the time of this post, hardly a ShitMyDadSays success, but that hasn’t stopped CBS from developing a show around the Twitter account.
Network execs are busy developing the show which include quotes from a guy who follows the antics of his roommate. Such quotes as “Steve loudly challenging people to a drinking contest…Nobody biting, so he’s just doing shots and declaring himself the winner.”
The quotes come from a guy who’s quoting his unemployed and often drunk roommate. If the account has one notable fact going for it, Ashton Kutcher is a follower of the account. Then again that could be because Kutcher is being tapped as an executive producer for the show.
Hey CBS executives, how about coming up with something a bit more original for us to watch. It’s bad enough you keep running Amazing Race over by 10 minutes or more at a time.
