Lauren Conrad’s new reality show was scrapped by MTV, allegedly for being “too high brow” for the channel’s audience.

“The Hills” star’s solo series (which focuses on her work in fashion design) has yet to find a new home, but fans can check out the intro sequence from the never-aired program.

Gwen Stefani has donated $1 million to Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

The singer said in a statement, “I’ve been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture.”

“The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”

Stefani visited Japan in 1996 on a tour with No Doubt. She took inspiration from the youth culture of the Harajuku district of Tokyo, later creating a clothing line called Harajuku Lovers.  Next week, she’ll unveil a limited edition Harajuku Lovers T-shirts, and all proceeds will go to to aid in Japan relief efforts.

Last week, Sandra Bullock gave $1 million to the Japan relief effort.

Gossip Cop hopes others, celebrity and non-celebrity, will follow Bullock and Stefani’s generous lead.
