Is Miley Cyrus‘ ex hooking up with Amanda Bynes?

That’s the buzz today after photos of Liam Hemsworth getting awfully close with Bynes popped up on a number of sites.

But there’s one tiny problem.

A rep for Hemsworth tells Gossip Cop the photos in question were taken just after the actor moved to the U.S. – in 2009.

Two years ago.

So much for that hot “new couple alert.”

“They were not together then and are not together now,” adds the rep.

“MILEY SNAPS!” blares a headline in Star magazine, which claims that Miley Cyrus has hit a “breaking point” due to “months of stress and heartbreak.”

The mag cites Cyrus’ run-ins with paparazzi on March 8 and 9, claiming that she “angrily lashed out at photographers, even throwing punches at one!”

According to a supposed “source” for the tabloid, the former Disney star’s so-called “violent outbursts” are due to the “mounting stress in her life” such as “her waning career and boy troubles.”

“Miley’s in a funk because she doesn’t feel she’s getting as much attention as when she was Hannah Montana,” says another “insider.”

Hmm…

If Cyrus was seeking attention, why would she be fending off the paparazzi?

She wouldn’t.

The mag adds that “failed flings with John Mayer and Josh Bowman” also had to do with Cyrus’ “meltdowns.”

Now this argument could be more believable than the “waning career” theory (Cyrus has two movies coming out this year), but Cyrus NEVER dated Mayer nor was she ever involved with Bowman.

Double oops.

Oh, and one more thing: the former “Hannah Montana” star did NOT “throw punches” at a photographer. Gossip Cop has video footage of Cyrus’ recent encounter with the paps, and anyone can see the young star is simply trying to protect her privacy – and her mom.

Rebecca Black seems to be getting the last laugh.

The “Friday” singer, whose unspeakably bad music video has been savaged in every corner of the Internet since it went viral over the weekend, just crashed the iTunes Top 100 chart.

Only one day after its iTunes debut, “Friday” is currently #69 (and rising), coming from nowhere to place higher than major label releases such as Justin Bieber’s “Baby” (#72), Lady Antebellum’s “Hello World” (#74) and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” (#94).

Granted, those singles have all been out for a long time, but Black’s showing on the list is pretty impressive considering absolutely no one knew who this girl was a week ago.

Has “Friday” peaked? Will Black release a second hit song? Is Armageddon near?

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s picture is torn apart on the cover of the new Us Weekly, but the magazine saves its biggest rip for Timberlake himself.

The former couple mutually announced their split last Thursday, but Us Weekly insists he “broke her heart,” using its own past inaccurate reporting to claim Timberlake cheated on Biel.

According to the tabloid, the singer-actor “blindsided” the actress last month by saying he didn’t want to marry her, an admission that “just stung her in the heart,” explains a so-called “source.”

“But Timberlake never fully came clean,” continues Us Weekly, which insists The Social Network star had long pursued other women, including a “passionate secret liaison” with Olivia Munn.

Except Timberlake never had a tryst with Munn.

Back in October, Us Weekly may have claimed that there was infidelity with Munn, but it was NOT true then and it’s not true now.

This week’s cover story says Timberlake’s lukewarm attitude toward Biel was “especially apparent” in January when “he bristled at her planning a birthday party for him at his Hollywood home,” even supposedly complaining about it to Munn.

(Us Weekly is really, really desperate to establish a link between Timberlake and Munn.)

A source close to Timberlake, however, tells Gossip Cop the birthday “bristling” is bogus. Timberlake didn’t know Biel was “planning” anything in the first place – it was a surprise party, and we’re told he was happily “overwhelmed.”

Our source confirms that the relationship ended because it “had run its course – no drama.” It did not have to do with cheating, or because Biel wanted to get married and Timberlake didn’t.

This “how he broke her heart” story just isn’t so.

L.A. Reid will be one of the judges on “The X-Factor,” Simon Cowell’s highly anticipated singing competition show, Gossip Cop confirms.

Reid is currently the chairman of Island Def Jam Records.

An official “X-Factor” announcement will be made soon.

There are expected to be four judges on the panel.

Auditions for the show begin on March 27.

The singing competition’s winner will receive a $5 million recording contract with Sony.

Cowell left his post at “American Idol” to bring “The X-Factor,” already a huge success in the UK, to the United States.

Adam Sandler is once again the victim of a sick, BOGUS death hoax.

According to yet another gross prank from Global Associated News, “Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today” in Zermatt, Switzerland.

But Sandler is NOT dead.

Back in December, the same vile outlet printed the exact same hoax about Sandler, including the same gruesome and totally fake details about Sandler losing control of his snowboard and slamming into a tree, allegedly dying on impact.

It was not true then.

It is not true now.

Sandler is alive and well.

These frequent, totally bogus stories about Sandler and dozens of other celebrities “dying” are not funny. They’re not cool. They’re not entertaining.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Gossip Cop is at a total loss as to why anyone would concoct phony fatalities, and sincerely hopes the only thing that dies out are these horrible hoaxes.

“You coulda heard a pin drop when Leonardo DiCaprio suddenly got feisty with Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood on the set of J. Edgar,” begins a piece in the National Enquirer.

According to the tab’s “on-set spy,” DiCaprio supposedly “demanded a retake on a scene” because he felt he hadn’t “shocked enough,” but Eastwood refused.

DiCaprio allegedly wouldn’t take no for an answer, and “got upset and demanded that Clint reshoot the scene.”

Apparently, the director then “turned to the cameraman, and said, in a quiet Dirty Harry rasp: ‘He can shoot it again – but make sure there’s no film in the camera,’” causing DiCaprio to really lose his temper and scream, “FORGET IT!”

“Shooting resumed the next day,” the mag continues, “but sources say the air’s thick with tension.”

No, it’s not.

A production source tells Gossip Cop that the Enquirer’s story is “total crap.”

Not “shocked.”

Finished with a stint in treatment for “emotional and physical issues,” the actress-singer has posted a video in which she explains her new tattoos and expresses gratitude for her fans’ support.

Lovato has “Stay” tattooed on her left wrist and “Strong” written on her right wrist – along with a heart that represents the love of her supporters.

The “Sonny with a Chance” star explains that she wanted to thank fans “in a way I know can never be forgotten.”

Lovato is also back on Twitter, reactivating her @ddlovato account, which is followed by more than 2.5 million fans.
