Phil Collins has quit the music business – and is “much happier.”
The Genesis drummer and solo performer is ending his career at 60 because hunching over his drums over the decades has left him with a slew of medical issues, including a dislocated vertebra, hearing loss and nerve damage to his drumstick-holding hands.
Collins’ success career garnered him more than a dozen hit singles, seven Grammys, and even an Oscar for Best Original Song for the 1999 film Tarzan.
“I’m sorry that it was all so successful. I honestly didn’t mean it to happen like that. It’s hardly surprising that people grew to hate me,” he told FHM.
Living now in a small town in Switzerland, Collins is perfectly content with his non-showbiz life.
He noted, “I don’t really belong to that world and I don’t think anyone’s going to miss me. I’m much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely.”
What do you think of Collins’ decision to call it quits?

After the hurt star was taken to the hospital, he tweeted, “Refused all pain medication – may the record state – still sober!”
As Gossip Cop reported, Arquette was en route to the airport to head to Vegas for the opening of a restaurant, The Sugar Factory, when his Cadillac collided with another car.
The actor is doing fine, but noted, “It was a miracle the woman I hit was uninjured – Thank God.”

Following an overnight shakeup, everything is reportedly back to normal with Charlie Sheen and his “goddesses.”
Sheen tweeted an “update” from his “Sober Valley Lodge” early this morning suggesting that Rachel Oberlin (the former porn star Bree Olson) had exited his unconventional family.
“Rachel has left the building… We’re sad… Over it… Applications now being accepted!” wrote Sheen.
But put away those cover letters and resumés – it appears Oberlin has returned to the fold.
Sheen now reportedly says he and his goddess have reunited.
“She came back, my bad all good. Love her with the three parts of my heart,” he tells TMZ.
The troubled star’s Twitter family, by the way, is nearing two million members.
