Cadbury has apologized to Naomi Campbell for comparing her to a chocolate bar in an advertisement the supermodel deemed racist.
The campaign for the Bliss bar used the tagline, “Move over Naomi, there’s a new diva in town.”
Campbell was “shocked” by the ad, which she called “insulting and hurtful.”
“It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me but for all black women and black people,” said the supermodel.
Today, the candy manufacturer responded.
“Cadbury understands that our latest advertising campaign for Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss caused upset to Naomi Campbell and her family,” said the company today in a statement.
“Cadbury takes its responsibility to consumers very seriously indeed and we would never deliberately produce any marketing material we felt might cause offence to any section of society.”
“It was not our intention that this campaign should offend Naomi, her family or anybody else and we are sincerely sorry that it has done so.”
Campbell accepted the apology but sounds less than pleased with Cadbury.
“I’m pleased that Cadbury have made a ‘sincere apology’ in regards to their Bliss ad campaign. The advertisement was in poor taste on a number of levels, not least in the way they likened me to their chocolate bar. It is also a shame that it took so long for Cadbury to offer this apology.”

SHOCK! Justin Bieber NOT Set to Propose to Selena Gomez

This one is just a head-shaker.
“Justin Bieber has plans to ask Selena Gomez to marry him,” claims Now, in what it dubs a “SHOCK!”
Specifically, the story reports that Bieber plans to propose at her 19th birthday party in July.
“The teen heartthrob, 17, who’s been holidaying in Hawaii with his girl, was so shocked by pal Sean Kingston’s jet ski accident in Miami [last] weekend, he’s been thinking seriously about his future,” explains the site.
According to Now, Kingston’s accident prompted Bieber to start saying “life’s too short” and to reevaluate things.
“He’s not in any rush to head down the aisle but after such a fantastic time in Maui together [it’s] really cemented how he feels about Selena and is hoping she’ll agree to say yes,” claims a so-called “insider” with atrocious diction.
So… Bieber thinks life is too short… but is not in a rush to get married?
We don’t really follow Now’s logic, but it’s clear the outlet expects Bieber’s marriage proposal to come next month.
Of course, that’s totally absurd.
“Not true” a rep for Bieber tells Gossip Cop, in no uncertain terms.

Adele Cancels Remaining North American Tour Dates

Adele has canceled her nine remaining North American tour dates due to laryngitis.
“I’m really frustrated,” says the chart-topping British singer in a statement.
“I was hoping with a week’s rest I’d be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctor’s advice and rest some more. I’m so sorry.”
She’d already postponed five shows before today’s announcement.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer will now not be performing in Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Diego, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, Asheville, Nashville and Minneapolis.

Now her brain could make Bundchen the world’s first billionaire supermodel.
The Brazilian bombshell is branding herself so effectively, via licensing agreements and her own lingerie company, that Forbes estimates she could very well be worth more than a billion dollars in the future.
Bundchen has been the top-earning model in the world for seven consecutive years, thanks in part to endorsements for labels including Versace and Dior.
She’s now founded an eco-friendly cosmetics company (Sejaa Pure Skincare) and created Gisele Bundchen Brazilian Intimates.
Forbes estimates her cumulative earnings over the past decade at more than $250 million, even before these recent endeavors. Bundchen and husband Tom Brady also have a number of significant real estate investments.
If it happens, Bundchen would be Brazil’s first female self-made billionaire.

“Ice Road Truckers†Star Arrested for Allegedly Beating Wife

Gregory Boadwine of “Ice Road Truckers” was arrested early this morning for allegedly beating his wife in front of their 9-year-old son.
According to a police report, Boadwine and his wife’s argument turned physical after he “elbowed [her] in the arm.”
Boadwine’s wife then reportedly shoved him, after which he is said to have grabbed her throat and shoved her into a kitchen door.
The fight ended only after their son screamed at them to do so.
Boadwine was taken to a nearby police station and is expected to be in front of a judge later today.
