Boxing is a unique sport that pairs athletic prowess with celebrity power. Boxers play to the crowd and atmosphere they are in, which can result in a boxing ring becoming a stage for performance. While shows like WWF may have overdramatized this aspect, many serious boxers still exist in today’s arena. Included here are a few of the biggest names in today’s boxing circuit.
Hailing from the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao has become an internationally renowned fighter and boxer. His professional fame has given him a royalty-like appeal to fans in his home country. Some say that Pacquiao is so popular, that during skirmishes between the army and insurgents in the Philippines, ceasefires would be called so they could all watch Pacquiao’s fight. A big part of Pacquiao’s celebrity status is due to his whirlwind presence in the ring and the excitement he generates in himself and others.
An infamous fighter from New York City, Cotto generates the kind of following reserved for cult leaders and celebrity musicians. Fights held at Madison Square Garden with Cotto often sell out, and his fame has spread to even those uninvolved with the sport. Cotto holds the highest attendance record for Madison Square Garden for any single event, that is a pretty impressive title for a mainstream boxer in New York City!
Watch out Kardashians, Canelo may just be coming to your television slot! Okay, maybe not quite, but Canelo certainly knows how to draw a crowd when he fights on HBO. When fighting in the U.S., Canelo consistently draws over 10,000 viewers to his fights, and when he fights in his home country of Mexico, it is an entirely different story.
Fights airing in Mexico typically average over 40 million viewers; which is roughly 40% of the population. This is similar to the amount of people who watch the Super Bowl, and Canelo enjoys that fame every time he fights. Because Canelo is only 22 years old, he has a lot of time to break more records and become even more famous internationally.
Becoming a household name was the natural progression for Floyd Mayweather after he began fighting. His popularity has spread internationally and he is known as the “PPV king” of this sport. Mayweather is known for talking some big trash outside of the ring, but fortunately has the guns to back it up inside the ring.
After Mayweather’s hit reality show, 24/7, began airing on HBO, his big personality won him more than a few fans outside of the boxing circuit. Mayweather’s family has more than enough sass and humor to keep the entertainment flowing and many people have tuned into his professional career as a result of his celebrity fame.

Despite garnering over 170, 000 likes, many of her Instagram followers thought her torso section was a case of bad Photoshopping.
“It doesn’t look real. She’s beautiful but there’s something wrong with the pool’s border,” one user wrote.

Celebrities create the ideal that everyone wants to meet in their own lifetime. The problem is, nobody knows how they create the ideals that they create! There is no exact recipe for the perfect body, the perfect smile, the tanned skin, and the talent and riches.
There is a lot of speculation goes around, but in the end, an exercise and diet regimen might work great for one person and for the next, it might not have the same effect. The reason that celebrities look so good is because they are the exception to the rule. In many cases, they bend the rules. Their position and money allows them to do it.
With this being said, your chances of looking like a celebrity are all dependent on what you’re willing to do to achieve that standard. Here are the things celebrities do to make themselves so appealing. Will you go the lengths?
Beyond race and gender, the first thing that people notice about a person when they come face to face with them is their smile or their eyes. If a person has a pretty face, but an ugly smile, doesn’t it affect the overall image? A smile will transform a face. Ever wonder how celebrities have such perfect, white teeth? They’re not real. That’s how. If you want to look more like a celebrity, go to the dentist and get a mouth full of veneers. It will make a world of difference.
Since celebrities make a lot of money off of one appearance they may make in a movie or on a television show, the aren’t usually working 9 to 5, 5 days a week, like the rest of the population is. That’s not saying they don’t work hard, they just make good money when they do work. This allows celebrities to spend much of their time getting themselves bikini ready with personal trainers.
Your body chemistry is different than everyone else. If you hire a trainer, they will be able to see what you need and what works for your body in the realm of training and exercise. Go buy yourself a treadmill, hire a coach, and watch yourself be transformed into the likeness of Jessica Biel and every other hollywood hotshot out there.
Alright, not so fast. There’s one last thing. If you want to look as good as a celebrity, you have to eat like them. That means no more bread or sugar. You’re sticking to the rabbit diet. You’ll get your protein from plant based products and you’ll never taste another hamburger again. Have fun with your beautiful looks though, nothing you taste will ever be as good as beautiful feels…

A legend has died!
David Smyrl, the actor best-known for playing Mr. Handford on Sesame Street, died on Tuesday at Lukenau Medical Center in Philadelphia. He was 80 years old.
Smyrl joined Sesame Street in 1990, playing the former fireman-turned-store owner, and was with the show through 1998.

He played the character a little less grumpy than did the previous actor, Leonard Jackson, and Smyrl was well-liked throughout his tenure on the show.
According to reports, the actor died of lung cancer, a disease he had developed back in January.
The actor also appeared routinely on the sitcom Benson in the 1970s, winning a People’s Choice Award for his work there, and he played contractor Sam Lucas on The Cosby Show, on which he also was a writer.

His memory will live on forever.
As we reported, A Tribe Called Quest band member Phife Dawg passed away earlier this week due to type 1 diabetes. He was only 45 years old.

On Wednesday, the legendary group — consisting of Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad — released a statement honoring the rapper, whose real name was Malik I. Taylor.
They said :
“Our hearts are heavy. We are devastated. This is something we weren’t prepared for although we all know that life is fleeting… It was no secret about his health and his fight. But the fight for his joy and happiness gave him everything he needed… The fight to keep his family happy, his soul happy and those around him happy, gave him complete and unadulterated joy … until he heeded his fathers call.”
Although they are mourning his loss, they are grateful for all the support they’ve received during this difficult time.
“We love his family, his mother, his father, his son, his wife, his nieces, his family here in New York, Atlanta, California and Trinidad… Thank you for the outpouring of prayers and support from the fans, fellow artists, music outlets, blogs, radio stations, DJ’s, social media and the music community at large. This too is part of his joy and means a lot to him. His family is overwhelmed by the support, well wishes and are thankful. His music and what he’s contributed is seismic and hard to measure. He’s affected us as much as he’s affected all of you. We’re inspired by his daily joy and courage. He wasn’t in pain. He was happy. We take comfort in knowing he will be beside his grandmother.”

She’s iconic. She’s legendary. She’s immortal. She’s a class act. We may think we know our Marilyn Monroe trivia, but we really don’t know the first thing about her.
Marilyn is a goddess worshiped through classic images and collectible memorabilia. Yet, it’s fascinating, that someone that is such a huge part of American culture is so misunderstood. Nearly everything we hear about her is likely misrepresented, exaggerated, or a flat-out lie. For instance, she was never considered “plus-sized”. Her supposed “size 16” was allegedly in UK sizing, making her a size 8- at her heaviest. Oh, and she was a dumb blonde, right? Please. She was exceptionally well-read and had a huge collection of literary works. The “dumb blonde” getup was a carefully fabricated image.
To know of the legendary Norma Jeane Baker, is to love her. However, here are some of the lesser known, more tragic facts about the woman who portrayed the character “Marilyn Monroe“.
There’s not much information to be known about Marilyn’s mother, Gladys Baker, and the reason is quite simple. Her agent didn’t want much exposed. Coinciding with her big Hollywood break, Marilyn was told not to speak of her institutionalized mother because it would cast her in a bad light. Instead, if questions were asked about her mother, she was coached to say she was dead. In her memoir, Marilyn says she remembers her mother “screaming and laughing” as the police came and took her to yet another mental hospital. She was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic and committed, indefinitely, at age 32. She spent most of her life institutionalized, and Marilyn would spend most of her life desperately craving the approval from a mother who couldn’t even recognize her own daughter.
We’re still not 100% sure who her father is. Gladys, as we said, was never very mentally stable. It’s likely she didn’t know who fathered her baby so she put Martin Mortensen (her ex-husband) on Norma Jeane’s birth certificate but they had separated long before Gladys ever became pregnant.
Gladys once showed Norma Jeane a photo of a man with a mustache, telling her his name was Charles Stanley Gifford, and said that he was her real father. (Gifford’s family impetuously denies these claims to this day.) A young Norma Jeane thought he resembled Clark Gable and began to fantasize that HE was her dad. Now for the sad part. In 1960, Marilyn filmed her final completed movie “The Misfits” and co-starred with none other than Clark Gable, himself. This was also one of the more tumultuous points in Marilyn’s life. She was sick a lot and notoriously late, making the cast and crew stressed out. The film DID end up getting finished, but 10 days after shooting wrapped Clark Gable had a massive heart attack and died. To make matters worse, Gable’s widow said that the “eternal waiting” during the film was what killed him. She didn’t specifically name Marilyn, but it was obvious who she was referring to. So not only did Marilyn never know who her real father was, she believed herself responsible for the death of the one man she had considered a father figure. So sad.
While playing “The Girl” in Billy Wilder’s “The Seven Year Itch”, Marilyn was shooting a scene on location in New York City. Five thousand onlookers watched, hooted, and applauded as the crew filmed at 52nd and Lexington. One of those onlookers was Marilyn’s husband, baseball great Joe DiMaggio. He was not pleased. The baseball legend stood by, livid, while powerful movie lights shone right through TWO pairs of panties Marilyn had worn for modesty. He was infuriated. After the scene was shot, DiMaggio and Marilyn went back to the St. Regis Hotel and what followed was a fight so intense that hotel 
guests alerted management, worried that “someone was getting badly hurt”. The next day, Marilyn was reported to have bruises on her shoulders and back that the studio hairdresser covered with makeup. Less than a month later, Marilyn filed for divorce. In a cruel twist of fate, the footage filmed that caused DiMaggio so much outrage was deemed “unusable” due to the noise of the crowd. It had to be reshot off-location on a soundstage in LA.
Despite what her life may have looked like on the outside, “Norma Jeane” was a profoundly sad person. The most desired woman in the world couldn’t find happiness with a man. Incredibly famous, but unknown and unaccepted by her own mother. Desperate to have a family, but unable to maintain a pregnancy. The public had no idea about how Marilyn was struggling because one of the most important parts of her image was maintaining that happy, sexy starlet facade. “Norma Jeane Baker” considered “Marilyn Monroe” to be another person. A good friend of hers, Truman Capote, once told a story of a lunch where Marilyn disappeared to the bathroom and was gone so long he went to look for her. He found her in the ladies room staring in the mirror. When he asked her what she was doing, she responds, “Looking at her.”
Susan Strasberg remembers a time when she and Marilyn were 
walking through New York City. They had gone relatively unnoticed most of the day; no one seemed particularly aware of the blonde bombshell, which Susan recollects as being quite odd. Suddenly, Marilyn turned to Susan and says, “Do you want to see me be her?” Susan recalls, “She seemed to make some inner adjustment, something ‘turned on’ inside her, and suddenly — there she was — not the simple girl I’d been strolling with, but ‘Marilyn Monroe’. Now heads turned. People crowded around us.”

There are several theories surrounding Marilyn’s death. Many details remain part of the mystery.
The day she died, Marilyn was the front-page story all over the globe. Fans around the world couldn’t believe someone so beautiful, successful, and seemingly happy would kill themselves. It was reported in the New York Times that suicides spiked in the week following her death, hitting a record high of 12 in one day in New York City alone. A note from one person who committed suicide in the wake of Marilyn’s passing read, “If the most wonderful, beautiful thing in the world has nothing to live for, then neither must I.”
Marlon Brando noted that in the days following the announcement
of her death, Hollywood felt slow and sad. He’s quoted as saying, “Everybody stopped work, and you could see all that day the same expressions on their faces, the same thought: ‘How can a girl with success, fame, youth, money, beauty… how could she kill herself?’ Nobody could understand it because those are the things that everybody wants, and they can’t believe that life wasn’t 
important to Marilyn Monroe, or that her life was elsewhere.” After the divorce, Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn remained friends. She famously made him promise that if she died before he did, to bring her flowers. Keeping his word, DiMaggio had roses delivered to her grave three times a week for 20 years. His last words when he himself passed away in 1999 were:
“I’ll finally get to see Marilyn.”
