The 58-year-old daddy is absolutely loving life with his 16-week-old baby girl Chanel Nicole and his wife Coco Austin, and the rapper-turned-actor can’t stop talking about how great it is to be a father (again)!!!

Speaking to reporters at Saturday night’s An Evening With Dick Wolf at the 33rd Annual PaleyFest Los Angeles, Ice-T had lots to say about taking and sharing pictures of the beautiful Chanel Nicole:

“I’m taking a lot of pictures. I’m that same guy that you go, ‘Oh, my daughter..’ and before I know it I’m showing you pictures. I said that I’m not going to be that guy. But now I’m just like, ‘Wait, look, and, ‘Wait, look at this one,’ and, ‘Wait a minute, hold up’. You can’t help it. You’re just happy.”

The rapper was also retrospective during his interview, noting how much has changed between the time his older two children — daughter Letesha, 39, and son Tracy, 23 — were born and now with daughter Chanel Nicole:

“I think the clarity that I have with this child. When I had my first kid I was in the middle of the wildness of becoming Ice-T, all the people that were after me, and I had my head down. I really wasn’t concentrating on them, I was concentrating on survival. Now, everything is a lot more mellow. We bring the baby home, she’s crying, I see her, they sleep with me every night. I’m really witnessing her grow everyday, so I’m more conscious of it.”

“[People] just get so excited to feast on something that’s negative. Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that,” she says.

Alongside this empowered statement is her willingness to push the boundaries for women everywhere:

“I always wanted to do what my brothers were doing. I always wanted to play the games they played and play rough and wear pants and go outside… It breaks boundaries, it’s liberating, and it’s empowering when you feel like, Well, I can do that, too.”
