Katie Holmes visits Ellen DeGeneres‘ show for an interview scheduled to air on Friday, and she discusses her daughter Suri Cruise’s well-publicized encounter with “adult” candy.
“Recently, I took her to get ice cream in New York at this place called Serendipity that we go to all the time,” says Holmes. “It’s for kids. The clientele is children.”
The actress-mom continues, “We go in and we are waiting for a table and she grabs some gummies that are boy part gummies. I was horrified.”
DeGeneres asks Holmes to clarify what she meant by “boy part.”
“P-e-n-i-s gummies,” explains Holmes. “I said, oh wow, those aren’t Swedish fish.”
“Even I know that,” jokes DeGeneres.
Holmes then describes how Suri held the box of “p-e-n-i-s gummies” just long enough for paparazzi to get a good look.
“I was like, why are they selling these here? This is for kids. And then it was on the cover of a magazine that I’m giving her those gummies,” says Holmes, explaining, “Yes, they were taking photos of it. I was like, oh my God, no. We put them back.”
But the damage was done.
“So now people think you’re feeding your child p-e-n-i-s gummy bears,” DeGeneres says to Holmes.
And that’s how a tabloid rumor is born…

Lindsay Lohan will reportedly not be prosecuted for her alleged altercation with former Betty Ford Center staffer Dawn Holland last December.
Holland claimed that Lohan became physically and verbally abusive with her in the early morning hours of December 12 in a satellite house on the Ford premises, where Holland worked as chemical dependency technician.
But sources with the District Attorney’s office now believe there is “insufficient evidence” to pursue a criminal case against Lohan, according to TMZ.
Lohan, of course, still must contend with her felony theft case.

“Miley Cyrus Disses Rebecca Black & Bieber,” blares yet another wildly inaccurate HollywoodLife headline.
According to the blog, “Cyrus seems to be having some trouble dealing with her decreased popularity following the end of Hannah Montana, and [she’s] taking it out on Rebecca Black!”
HollywoodLife quotes Australia’s Daily Telegraph, in which Cyrus said, “It should be harder to be an artist. You shouldn’t just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour.â€
Then the site notes, “Miley seems to forget however that there is one major star who got his big break of YouTube — Justin Bieber! Justin’s videos were what first caught the attention of record labels, and there seem to be more and more young stars just like him these days!”
That’s a genuinely excellent point.
Now let’s return from HollywoodLife’s fantasy land to the realm of reality.
For starters, Cyrus NEVER called out – or even mentioned – Rebecca Black.
Cyrus didn’t “take it out” on Black. HollywoodLife did.
Nor did Cyrus “forget” Bieber.
In fact, a source close to Cyrus – and privvy to the full interview with the Daily Telegraph – tells Gossip Cop the star’s comment was a direct response to a question about YouTube sensations like Justin Bieber.
Our insider tells us, “Miley said Justin was a friend” and “talked about how hard he’s worked” to make it ever since his music was posted on YouTube.
In other words, Cyrus slammed neither Black nor Bieber, despite HollywoodLife’s misleading headline.

Jalen Rose was reportedly arrested for DUI earlier this month.
The former college and pro basketball star lost control of his vehicle on March 11 and was subsequently tested by police officers for sobriety, according to TMZ.
Rose was booked for driving under the influence.
The site claims the socially minded former athlete was in Michigan at the time of his arrest to prepare for the opening of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy charter school.
Rose was a member of the legendary “Fab Five” at the University of Michigan and later starred for multiple NBA teams, including the Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls.
